  1. Hi all, I've recently started to pick up the last wave or so of Harry Potter sets as I was coming out of my dark ages as they were released so I kind of missed them. I recently saw an exhibition of magic and part of the HP section was Lego kits of 4738 Hagrids Hut and 4842 Hogwarts and loved them... Hence recent orders. I must admit it's only these final waves I like as far as minifigures go. The previous yellow and earlier flesh variants look poor in comparison (just my opinion). I was wondering how compatible the older 4709 and 4757 sets are with the later kits? Is the grey and green used in the builds the same for the walls and turrets or could you tell if they were combined? Any help you can give will be beneficial in whether I try and track down the older sets. Thanks in advance.
  2. +1 Deathleech for the above mentioned trade. Good bloke to deal with and excellent service.
  3. That looks really nice... to be honest it's so nice it's a must for that to be done in plain black and red brown right now!
  4. Let's face it... unless we got a £200 set with 12 or so aliens... something Ewok Village size... we wouldn't be happy. It's not the worst incarnation of the Cantina we could have got!... Maybe not the best... but not the worst. And the rest of the wave is all good for me. I've never owned an ISD, AT-AT, B-Wing or Sandcrawler so it's all gravy!
  5. Welcome from the other end of the country!
  6. Well hopefully the Azog release will show the way to them for that. I've had to go custom to get my GL, GA, Black suit Superman, Shazam and Bizarro. I think the previews are definitely the way to go and even how you package them up (people still sell the Azog in the blister for a lot of £££s)... that means you can slip them into a set 6 months later and the appetite is whetted while still retaining a certain collectors value in the Comic Con packaging. They'll be so close to a full JLA roster that it just doesn't make sense to not have a GL in there.... whether he'll appear in a 2014 set is entirely up to the Lego gods. If the GL in SMvsB is indeed John Stewart then I just hope that Hal Jordan is given to us to put the whole SDCC exclusive thing to bed, especially as that figure is in the Lego Movie... and I happen to quite like the design of that mini figure.
  7. That just seems way too complicated. We're talking about the possibility of a SH CMF line... There will have been 12 or 13 successful series before an SH one so they won't change the format and we won't get bigfigs. It would be amazing if we got the line at all.
  8. There's nothing I've heard on any of the discussions to dim my enthusiasm for this wave. Many thanks to those that have shared what they've seen. ISD, Cantina, B-Wing, AT-AT and Sandcrawler are musts and I'll wait and see just what's different about the Snowspeeder before going for that one. I'm so glad I'm allowed a certain Lego budget through my business account for 'office decoration'!!
  9. I also bought a set recently (box was very garaged etc) and found a couple of small piece missing. I had confirmation within a couple of days then another to say the item was out of stock. Around 4 days after that I had confirmation they had been sent. I've always found them very efficient.
  10. It's not the most difficult thing to change if it does indeed look a bit rubbish. They may grow on me though. I find it more interesting that they seem to be intent on bringing back earpieces on the figures which reminds me of the old figures such as the rebel Hoth soldier from back in the yellow days.
  11. I always just use Brasso on the torso and it all comes off pretty easily. Just give it a firm rub and it should all come off no problem.
  12. Knowing my luck GL will be part of the Sea Cow crew!
  13. I was thinking the same thing... just BL the legs from the Rebels version and that's the perfect Stormtrooper.
  14. That stormtrooper looks really miserable! :) I actually think it's a good representation of the Rebels animated styling... yeah... it would have been nice to have them 'uniform' with regular storms but there's the rub. Zeb is a little reminiscent of the McQuarrie concept sketch for Chewie. I like it.
  15. I'm expecting this to be around £40-£50. The DeLorean was £35 and that was a smaller vehicle and 2 figures. I'm really glad they made it. Hopefully it'll stop the flood of GB items that are so incredibly similar on Cuusoo at the moment. Whether the Cuusoo licence opens things up to the firehouse in the future or a variety of other characters we'll see. Cue endless follow on projects hitting Cuusoo with Slimer and Janine etc.... maybe for characters like Peck and brick built devil dogs. As much as I'd like to see them in the future I'm just really happy they went with this set out of all of the sets reviewed. Let Lego do it's job now.
  16. Those figures at least look like they'll be in line with regular figures and not the CW anime style. The Phantom actually looks better in these recent shots than the previous image... or at least that's how my brain in receiving things! I think this wave is looking pretty mint... and a couple of changes to the mini fig line up would make it spot on for me as an OT fan. As I've missed out on SD, Cantina, B-Wing, AT-AT and Sandcrawler in the past I'll be picking them all up thank you very much! I'm holding judgment on the Rebels stuff until I've seen the source material. If I like the cartoon then I'll probably pick those up too.
  17. The B-Wing looks really good and it's nice to get a system scale version. As much as the UCS build looked good it's not my favourite ship so better to get this one. The advent calendar actually looks like it will be worth getting there. I wonder what Luke figure we'll get if that's just a placeholder hanging down from the ice cave?
  18. I think he's referring to the COMING winter sets... i.e. 2014/15... after this summer wave is released. At least I think that's what he means.
  19. I think the B-Wing is odd (although I'm glad we're getting it as I don't have a system scale one) because we got a new B-Wing pilot in the Planet Series with the old helmet on. The redesigned A-Wing pilot was great... hopefully we'll get Ten Numb piloting it so I can BL the helmet and upgrade the Planet series figure. I'm also interested in whether they put him in a white suit again as he actually wore a red one in the film and the white one was just a promo shot. I'm interested to see how different Luke and Dak are from the figures in the Battle of Hoth and Snowspeeder Planet Series as they both had the new (before the Microfigures) printing. I was hoping the print for Battle of Yavin and Hoth would remain slightly different to go with the black glove/white glove difference. Nice that we're getting another helmet design too to expand the Rebel pilots.
  20. I don't think the Chinese made sets are poor quality. A couple of possible moulding issues (and very minor ones at that... you want moulding issues then check Megabloks pieces!) and the odd colour variation that has happened in other countries of manufacture don't make them poor quality.
  21. Is there a chance that those figures weren't ready to display if the Dewback was still Prelim so they put three of the finished Bith figures in? Who knows... time will tell. Reading the review of the calendar it seems it's regular price and I like that the Green R2 Unit should match the headpiece on the micro fighter X Wing.... if you don't want it to look like a tree that is!
  22. For those in Liverpool... Rapid Hardware has reopened in the city centre and have a few sets in there. While they're reduced... they're actually reduced from a price that's higher than RRP although they have a few things not around much anymore such as Uruk Hai Army set and Series 1 Planet sets. Also a POTC set although only a small one.
  23. First on the left is an older SW Hoth Rebel trooper... looks like a complete figure to be honest. Second along is the torso and legs from a SW Naboo pilot but with generic yellow head and hair. Fifth along is what looks like a complete SW Emperor Palpatine (just requires a black bar to complete the look)... and Ninth along is the SW Emperor's Royal Guard, this one requires a black spear to complete it. The Emperor actually sells for around £10 on it's own usually. Some Pharaohs Quest and Ninjago stuff also. The brown pilot's helmet on the figure wearing the vest should probably go on the Naboo Pilot's head. I like finding cheap little collections like this. I wish I found more!
  24. I started with Star Wars... then added LOTR/Hobbit... then SuperHeroes (Lego just let's the kid in me go nuts)... a smidgeon of Monster Fighters... and possibly on to Modulars this year.
  25. I've just had to try and pick a new 'Furby' toy from McDonalds as my 4 yr old's Furby was lost today at school (unfortunately they're now Tom & Jerry toys but I digress). At the bottom corner of the toy display there was a coming soon sticker with the Lego Movie logo along with Emmett and Wyldstyle. Seeing as you can buy Happy Meal toys for £1 without having to buy any food from Maccies do we think they'll be Minifigures or microbuilds? I can't see them putting out a moulded plastic toy that wasn't a brick or figure based product. Edit: ...a simple Google search has shown that they're actually cups. Shame. As you were people... nothing to see here!
