  1. Can anyone who has bought Riddler's Steam Roller recommend it as a set? I like the look of the steamroller but the Batwing I'm not sure about. £50 is a lot. I'm not convinced on the actual build of the Juniors Batcave set as something even my daughter would enjoy although I really like the look of the 60s Batman. BLing the figures comes to around £30 which means import duty from the States so it'll come to around £40 anyway... £10 for the Roller and Batwing kind of makes it a no brainer. The Spidercopter seems a worse way to drop that kind of money. This is for the MM figure by the way. Thoughts?
  2. For some reason I've got £35 in my head. I may have been mistaken though! Fingers crossed on that one. I'll have another look tomorrow as I'm down there again. Actually Argos is selling it at £29.99... Must have been my mistake!
  3. Popped into the Lego Store in Liverpool yesterday and the Juniors sets are in... I think the Spiderman sets were there too... I'll wait until March to get those to make sure Martian Manhunter goes in the bag! I must admit £35 for the Juniors Batcave seemed a little steep... I think I might just BL the figures.
  4. If they can put Leia celebration with a Y-Wing and Han Solo with an A-Wing then they can put Sandpeople in a Tatooine set. If this is indeed a playset rather than a vehicle set then it's opening the doors for this kind of inclusion. I also don't think Lego don't release anything because they're too lazy to. It's this arm-folding shoulder shrugging that surprises me. I think more people need to watch the Lego Movie.
  5. I've already picked up as many of the new 'Yavin' figures as I need to update all my pilots... same as the new 'Hoth' pilots for the Snowspeeder missions. I completely forgot to pick up an extra Wedge though! At least the Luke in the new Speeder will mean I can use the Battle of Hoth Luke to update Wedge.
  6. I printed a custom decal for mine a while ago but I'm definitely going this route now! Excellent work!
  7. I think Disney will handle the new trilogy better than Lucas would have. I'm of the opinion that Disney get things very right more than they get things very wrong. They won't risk this being a shambles and being seen as the people who killed Star Wars. I remember reading in one EU novel that the Falcon was fixed up to new condition and was actually white... so we'll see if that's the case on any future SW sets. The fact that Han was bored and jumped in it only to run into Fett on a minor world was quite amusing. Is Rebels a completely Disney production or was this ongoing before they took over? If so I like how they've started... very much on an OT angle. I have very high hopes for future McQuarrie-esque sets in the future.
  8. I think as long as you're not taking 30 of each set home you'll be fine... Personal consumption and all that!
  9. You really need to find a printing partner to make these happen. The designs really need a good pad printer to get the right level of detail... I can't see machine printing doing these justice. Great work!
  10. Hulk set was £49... Hydra Tank was £19. I quite like the sets... I was always going to get the Hydra Tank as I've loved Captain America as a kid and I actually quite like the design... Hydra agent is cool although my Christo custom is my preferred Red Skull... this one is good though. I've actually not really had a chance to look at the lab set properly but if I based each fig at around £6 or so then £12-£15 for Hulk on the secondary market then the lab itself only cost me just under £15 which makes it well worth it. The Falcon fig is really nice... as is all of them really... I just wish there was a helmet for Thor but that's been discussed ad infinitum. Smyths is actually in Speke Retail Park just in case anyone is wondering.
  11. I just popped into Smyths Toys in Liverpool and picked up Hulk Lab Smash and Hydra Tank sets. I called the Lego store as I prefer to get it there if it's full price but they don't have a date for them coming in so I went for Smyths. Not had a chance to build yet but the figures are sublime.
  12. I've actually just commented on another thread about my hope for SoTE sets. I'd add Grand Admiral Thrawn and Mara Jade to that list. That's before we get into the many Solo/Skywalker children.
  13. The EU started to get shafted with Jango Fett. The whole issue of Boba Fett being born as Boba in the first placed went against written EU and showed how Lucas could pretty much make it all irrelevant in the blink of an eye. Once the history of main characters (Boba Fett can probably be considered one of them) starts having to be rewritten then it's open to all kinds of shenanigans and can basically be wiped away. That said I actually thought the cinematic teasers for the Old Republic game was some of the best SW material I'd seen since the OT and as such the characters of Malgus, Shan etc were good to see in Lego form although I never played the game so I wasn't that bothered about the ships. The Sith Fury Class Interceptor was a nice looking ship though and the Jedi Defender Class Cruiser had some Tantive IV about it. Starkiller is a pretty big character in the EU seeing as it's his family crest that is used as the Rebel Alliance symbol. Of all the EU the sets I would have really liked made are Shadows of the Empire. I'm hoping that as that was a Lucas sanctioned game and book release that will always stay part of the core SW material. It's also important as to how Leia got the Boushh disguise for Han's rescue. The plans to have spin off films for minor characters give a huge scope for Disney and it's partners including TLG to venture further into the SW universe with what will essentially be canon material. Whether we'll ever see Grand Admiral Thrawn or his like appear in a Lego set is now more unlikely though.
  14. I'd not seen that site before but yeah... it's the HJ Media figures they've copied. They're actually pretty good figures and look nice alongside the official TLG versions to have an expanded Hall of Armour. It's nice to have them without paint and decals... although your figures look superb... especially the 'special edition' figures such as Iron Punisher etc.
  15. I don't think Cussoo is failing.... Nor do I think this or any of the other item are boring. I think it's down to submissions and what gets 10,000 votes. Factor in the practical licensing and sales issues then you have what we currently do. I've stated before that I wouldn't allow licensed items on Cussoo as a general rule but that's not going to happen. I'm looking forward to Exo Suit but marketing reasons put Ghostbusters release before it... 30th Anniversary is just something you can't ignore. I think the set looks great and will definitely be purchased. Ecto-1 is superb and the hair pieces don't bother me at all... Hair is always a bit of a factor with Lego figures... Especially emulating the likeness of someone.
  16. I'm not going to complain about the figures getting more detailed... as long as they keep a lego feel. That means no gradients... make sure line details don't go too thin... My only slight complaint would be the sudden need for everyone in the SW universe to have a headset. Not convinced by that one... but it's minor niggle. The protocol droid in the Jedi Scout Fighter is perfect for the droid on the Sandcrawler in ANH... Be interesting to see if it's included in there or if it's another case of a figure being suitable for a different set (i.e. Ithorian not included in Cantina... although both these figures are in the same Jek set) I'm glad to see they've kept the Snowspeeder pilot design the same as the planets set and the Battle of Hoth set... at least there's consistency in that and it separates them from Battle of Yavin pilots. More helmet designs now please! The colours on the General Veers are a brave move but apparently more movie accurate so I'm happy with that and I like the AT-AT so all good for me on that... those Snowtrooper helmets are absolutely superb now. Cantina in general is really good... I've said before that unless we got a £200 Ewok Village style set we'd be missing 'something' but as a smaller set I think it does the job. The Bith are excellent. I actually prefer my original Greedo if that's a finished version... the arm printing on the old one really set his jacket off and the old colours seem much more accurate. Glad I didn't eBay that now! I like Ben's printed robes... and a really nice new face design. Sandtrooper again looks great... I can overlook the issue of no shin printing as the rest of it is great. I have no issues with articulation on the Dewback... they've never struck me as particularly manoeuvrable anyway so static beast it shall be. The B-Wing is the real winner for me here... I never bothered to get the UCS version and I actually really like the scale of this one. Those figures are the real gem on this one though. I love the caps on the ISD Imperials but my only gripe is that we don't have a black one to update the Microfighter version. Seems odd to have that figure just being released in parts of the world and technically it will need updating within 3 months or so. The Calendar will just be for Vader and the Droid body as I'll have the Luke, Reikann, Snowtrooper and Snowspeeder pilot. Vader is worth it though.
  17. I'm pretty sure it's just for this droid... or at least this series of droid. All R2 units should stay the same size as they are now.
  18. I take it you're aware that a lot of your designs are being printed by Chinese customisers and sold on eBay? I should know... I've bought a few. I'd take it as a compliment! I'll take a pick and post the ones I think are copied.
  19. Well I've just got a boxed and complete 4842 for a touch over £100. After looking round at what they normally go for on eBay and BL that wasn't too bad. Can't wait to get them build and displayed now... just got to dismantle my Falcon and a few other bits to make room! Best find is a 4841 Hogwarts Express with just a few pieces missing for £36!
  20. That looks great. After seeing the 4842 and 4738 sets at a 'Magic' exhibition I was hooked and have just been on a hunt for HP Lego (or at least the last 2 waves) I've only just received my 4867 and I'm waiting for my 4842 to have my own version of Hogwarts although it will be much smaller than this! Excellent work!
  21. Welcome! I've done several custom mini figures via the waterside decal method and also submitted artwork to a supplier on eBay to print some torsos for me. Personally I love customising them and also like to make purist customs taking parts from different figures. There's another Kiwi lady on here called LukeWarmTea... Might be interesting for you to have a chat! Enjoy the forum!
  22. Why the hell can't I get a Laketown Chase for £22?! I reckon even with import duty etc it will still be cheaper than buying it here in the UK! I've been looking for the last 2 waves of Harry Potter sets recently and picked most of them up. For me the best has been 8481 Hogwarts Express which is missing a few pieces but nothing a small BL order can't handle for just £36. The only thing on the mini figures is Luna's hair which I already have a spare of. The Luna Figure and Ginny Weasley sell for more than that alone. Very happy!
  23. The stock keeps changing on the reserve on that. I checked last night and the nearest one for me was 30 miles away... now it's in a store 15 miles away. I'll keeping waiting for it to arrive in the one 1 mile away!
  24. That looks great. I wouldn't change much on that at all except maybe try and lengthen the small laser canon on the underside of the bike. That's the only thing that actually stands out to me. Like I said... I wouldn't make many changes at all. It looks superb.
  25. Thanks for the info... I've got 4867 Hogwarts, 4840 The Burrow, 4866 The Knight Bus, 4738 Hagrids Hut and 4865 Forbidden Forest. I'll keep watching for a 4842 to see if anything comes up and stays relatively well priced... I'll also keep an eye out for 4757 although hopefully I can find one without the figs which should keep things low.
