Whats the point of keeping boxes?
KringlesBricks replied to MatthewH's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks for posting a set I wanted as a kid...but, never got Anyways, I kept mine to begin with; but, with so many sets I was buying...I was running out of space. Rather have more room for the actual Legos than the boxes. -
AoM Barracks phase 3: Egnatia Fortress
KringlesBricks replied to Gunman's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very cool looking! I like how you used certain elements in a certain way - like the chairs and the barrels for columns. -
Wow, that's amazingly awesome! Those "brick" bricks really set off the building very well to give it a "station" effect. And those tall windows also add details you find with a fire station. Nice job!
-
I'm breathless on describing how amazing this is! I was looking through all your other structures, and you do AMAZING work. I especially enjoy admiring your 911 memorial buildings. Beautiful creations for sure.

Or you can just make alley-ways on sides of the building to the garages and cells...and not necessarily have buildings right up against it But that's true to use windows instead of bricks to save on bricks. I try to use the same concept.

Wow, I totally missed all the details inside the building!! Even more amazing! ...I didn't realize I had to click a button to unhide the interior images.

Reminds me of the M-tron helicopter I re-built with my legos!! ..soon to be in my hands next week! Nice classic m-tron re-creation!

Wow, it just amazes me how far LEGO has advanced in pieces and designs just by looking at the older sets from the 60's, 70, '80's, 90's, etc...

I feel you have done a great job on it so far. The facade truly looks like a Police Headquarters building - it's clean and simple. Don't make it too cluttered. Looking inside with the nice details of the desk with computers on them reminds me of a detectives office with the main chief guy on the third floor. I agree having the garages and cells separate from the main offices building - look forward seeing that portion built. And....yes, just take you time (don't rush) and make sure the designs work - more time and thought going into it will make it look even better! I've spent almost a year designing and building my Train Station

That's an amazing job on the model! I like how you did the half-dome on he back of the church Well done - very close to the original photographs!
-
Sweet! ...thats the same set that got me into trains and city. I still have it at my parents house...soon to have in my hands next week when I pick up the rest of my Legos. I like the Modding you did to the original Locomotive. Do you plan to use or MOC the remaining cars in the set??

ha-ha! ...and I wonder what happened to the string of plants he pulled out?? ...many reasons why you'll see me keeping an eye on my PaB cups. If a kid gets even close to a cup of mine, I'll dash over and "protect it" ha-ha

...wow, I'm actually impressed by the characters/mini-figs in this series. I'm tempted to try to collect them all. By looking at the figures and objects, it should make it easy to "feel" what you're getting without opening the bag - even though a few of them will be tricky.

Just the other day, I was filling in the gaps with those small 1x1 grey tile pieces...a bunch in my palm missed the cup and starting bouncing all over the floor. But, no major cup spills so far.

The decals add much more character to the engine - well placed. It came out really well! I keep wanting to make a freight train myself one day...hopefully that day will come once I get my layout built first.

Lego Trackbed with a bit of color
KringlesBricks replied to KringlesBricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I have 3 curves and 8-10 track lengths left to complete the layout with these pieces...I hope I can make it, or else back to the PaB wall. Luckily the store is only 10 mins away. -
Are you crazy about Advent Calendars?
KringlesBricks replied to Dorayaki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I got into advent calendars when I was real young - toddler days - the german chocolate calendars my grandma/mom would get me each year for Christmas. In reference to the Lego Holiday Advent Calendars, I'm not too interested in them. Yea, the mini-builds are clever and "neat"; but, I'd rather spend my money on a particular set, or a bigger set with more useful pieces I can use in my layout/city. If I was little. I'd get a thrill each morning putting a small set together. I'd take the Legos more than chocolate, ha-ha! -
Lego Trackbed with a bit of color
KringlesBricks replied to KringlesBricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Glad to help you out on an idea you were trying to accomplish, marvin ^^^ I'm half-way-done with my 2 switches - it was a challenge; but, it's coming along well. I'll post pictures of those soon. I picked up some more 1x1 light grey round tiles, along with some 1x1 light green bricks, and dark grey 2x2 bricks to finish the look at the PaB wall today. -
I'm going to guess maybe some of the old space sets....I spot a lot of those light grey pieces like the small engine, angled nose pieces in the front, and a satellite dish. Maybe a few of those brick/piece tubs you buy with random bricks Nice collection of base plates - those run 5-10 bucks each.
-
It's the one in Orlando - well, hopefully the wall will start filling up again, soon. The entire bottom row was empty where they usually have bricks. And they had 4 of the holes with 2x4 tan bricks - urgh. I just stocked up again on more 1x1 light green tiles for the time being.

B-E-Autiful work!! Lovely inside with amazing details. The cafe/kitchen area is my favorite part of the building. Clever with the blinder!

My Lego store at Downtown Disney is low on bricks for the Pick-a-Brick wall - I overheard Lego Employees saying they have stopped shipping pieces to the store. Has anyone else notice less bricks on their PaB walls in their stores? I hope this is just temporary...even though I heard the Downtown Disney store is going to be relocated. But still, this stinks

I really like the container instructions - inspired me to build my own.

After realizing I had a lot of flat 1x2 green tiles, 1x1 round grey tile, and 1x1 round green plates, and the brown 1x4 tiles, I decided to combine them with track to come up with a nice landscaping around the track instead of just light and dark grey pieces. Took these pieces... ...and made this. I think it came out nice...for the pieces I had on hand. I am going to Brick Link 1x1 dark grey plates and 1x1 brown tiles to finish the railroad ties on the side of the track to complete the look.
