  1. I usually draw out an idea on paper...then take that drawing and try to recreate in bricks or if I do not have the bricks, I draft it up in LDD. The train station I am still working on, I build it in "sections". When I say sections, it's either a side of the building, or roof, or patio (explains why my train station has so many different details because I work on different sections at a time) So, my process is... Draw on paper of what I want to accomplish idea wise, then take that drawing to either my physical bricks or Digital Designer to see if it's feasible in bricks. Then when I am happy with what I come up with, I check my brick inventory to see if I have those bricks or visit the pick a brick wall or bricklink. It's also a good idea to keep or find or buy extra sets where you think you'll want to use those pieces in a custom building.
  2. Wow, that is a nice gesture for a free movie! I'd like to get all the posters I keep seeing more and more trailers play on tv for the movie....making me more pumped to see it -ha-ha!! It's all Emmet`s fault bouncing around in his room saying, "I`m so pumped!"
  3. I was originally into just collecting Tecnic sets before the modular buildings came out since it seemed to be more of an adult theme and more of a challenging interesting build with the gears and stuff - nothing else really grabbed my interest at that time (and this was back in 2006) But, once I saw the Cafe Corner and Market Street came out, I was like COOL, I gotta have that!! It was the new "era" of lego houses that got me t switched from tectonic to city and train. I saw all my technic sets just sit on shelves whereas I could make an actually city if I switched to City and Train So, I've geared away from technic and moved into City/MOCing (where I buy certain non-city sets for the pieces only). Usually when I see sets...I ask myself, can I build better, does that fit into a city or train layout, or do I just need those pieces to make my own Mocs. I never pass up a modular building including the Haunted House.
  4. The white facade is beautiful!! Great detail, and definitely carries a downtown street look. Great job!
  5. Yep, Downtown Disney has them on shelves for VIP only when I checked the pick-a-brick wall for new pieces.
  6. Scored big today with my holiday box filling it with 500 dark red 1x2 bricks!!
  7. Definitely makes it feel like s "small-town" village adding in that nicely done train station. Great use of the Olive Cheese Slopes...the colors make everything tie together nicely. And wonderful job on the monorail-train!! I'm sure you're village is happy with the station and rail bus addition. I'm still working on my city station...I can't wait to finish it - waiting on some more PaB pieces to come in the next month to tile off my second platform.
  8. This is amazing!! The colors work real well together (IMO). Great details inside! These type of corner modulars are a challenge to make....but, you did exceptionally well with this one for sure!
  9. Wow...nice job TLG on the design of the Simpsons House! It turned out real well. I would have to say this is and the Parisian Restaurant have to be the best modulars to have come out in the past 6-7 years of modular/house sets for both interior and exterior design. I really like how the designer used colorful and unique pieces to really make the interior rooms "pop". I just wish I had the $200 to buy this...even though I have $45 in VIP to help buy it. I wonder if February 17th is the date set for early access for VIP's to buy this set. I'm tempted to just buy it on a collector side of things (leaving it in the box) - just seeing how collecting this will be once it's not sold any more. I know I'd regret it if I don't snatch it before its not sold any more.
  10. Definite must haves for 2014: 1. Parisian Restaurant (which I am getting from my parents - no cost to me) 2. Simpsons House 3. Mars Rover Potential Buys for 2014 depending on money: 1. All Lego Movie Sets Other than those sets...I'm still investing in my massive Train Station build I started in July 2013 - still a WIP (around 10,000 pieces in counting). It's eaten up about $2000 worth of pieces through BL, PaB, and store picks. I may get the 2014 train sets depending what they look like - I get picky on how certain sets look. I end up modding sets after I build them.
  11. Just on curiosity...I wonder how many PR's TLG has sold already?! They can't keep them stocked on the shelve enough at the Downtown Disney store - haha. They come off...then they put more up. I'll be getting one soon...next week once Downtown Disney slows down; I got a 2nd Palace Cinema for Christmas from my parents not knowing I already bought one - haha!
  12. I just use a micro-fiber towel with warm water and soap - it does the trick well. Very time consuming; but, it works. I enjoy cleaning my modular buildings while watching a football or basketball game...
  13. ...paying top dollar, too (looking at the $100 bills). Very creative, and clever.
  14. I just happened to spot the Constitution Train at a 20% discount when I was picking bricks at the Lego Store outside Burlington, Mass - there was a 20% discount on all Lone Ranger Sets. The train was a $15 savings worth getting it in store paying tax versus getting it online without having to pay sales tax. May go on S@H to snatch up a few more sets before it's all gone...since New Hampshire has no sales tax when ordering from S@H. The discount on the lower priced sets wasn't worth getting in store since New Hampshire has no sales tax when ordering online.
  15. Very well done - I really like it :) I may be looking off yours for inspiration when I get to my layout....if it ever comes - waiting to settling down to get a layout going.
  16. Thanks for the videos. I noticed the new sets when I stopped by the Lego Store outside of Boston when I was getting Pick-a-Bricks.
  17. Those vehicles are amazing work! I especially love the Bus and the Donuts vehicles the most!
  18. Thanks! ...As soon as I reunite with my trains and Legos this December, I'll get a few shots with my custom train and Horizon pulling into the station. I miss my bricks - they are in Indiana, and I'm in New Hampshire. I was unable to take all my Legos with me when I moved from Indiana to New Hampshire. Ha-Ha...yes, indeed! Same as above...too bad my track is back at my parents, along with some pieces I want to incorporate. I added a warehouse to the side of the station...still a work in progress as Lego Station continues it's build.
  19. Wow! Beautiful work replicating that train in bricks. It came out amazing!
  20. I've been meaning to post about this MOC you did. I really like how you incorporated the lights in the Loco. It turned out to be a great engine. What cars will it be pulling?
  21. Very creative, and nice use of the PF motor. I have yet to see one of these in real life...
  22. Absolutely amazing! Turns very smoothly it seems in that perfect circle. I agree - we need to see it in a layout...and a nice roundhouse would like nice next to it
  23. Glad to see you back! ...you having any thoughts to brick build yet??
  24. Very well done!! I especially like the roof design. The colors work well together - amazing details you put into every inch of the model.
  25. I want an original with salt, please!
