This is amazing...totally digging this layout!! I have always wanted to do a race track with a pitstop, shops, garages, etc. You pulled it off quite well!

Beautiful and amazingly built! Absolutely eye catching. You did a fantastic job brick-building it from the photos above using cool building techniques! Will you be displaying this??

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
KringlesBricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
With the IDEAS Museum, it defiantly has some nice interior pieces; but, I have to say it certainly needs more color in it for me. With it all being in tan pieces inside and out, it seems bland and colorless even with the architectural designs incorporated in it. I'd like to see something with a lot of color like the Pet Shop and PR; those sets really sold me on getting them...brightening up the city. -
LEGO CREATOR 2015 Rumours & Discussion
KringlesBricks replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Looks like the new sets are really aimed towards young children - which makes total sense. I think we all got spoiled with the PR when it came out on how detailed it was, and how we want even more. The new sets are "cute" for kids, and excellent for AFOL's for parting out and MOC'n MOCs of their own with these parts form the new sets. -
Sounds like you guys hit a nice haul on the PaB wall - nice! Hopefully it'll hit soon here.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
KringlesBricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Whatever does come out..I'll get it no matter what, haha - it's another modular to keep my complete modular theme going. ha-ha! -
Absolutely love the light house and rock work. What is getting me more is the Hotel/Cafe Corner and PR next to one another off in the corner off from the beach. I really like the beach layout...and the brown deck...nice.

Why did lego replace the hinge system?
KringlesBricks replied to mapimi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I definitely miss those old parts, and not necessarily like the newer versions. The new ones only let you lock it in a few places versus just having it swing up/down - that's what I truly miss But, I agree, it did loose its clutch power. The window or the plate attached would eventually fall back down on its own making it frustrating when putting in a mini-fig in a cockpit or passenger seat in a car/truck. Or if you would leave it up to have an open-cockpit when it's on the ground. The new ones drive me crazy because when you go to swing open the cockpit, you rip the entire mechanism off the plane, truck, etc. grr... -
The Fall selection is not the best...just went over today and only had 1x4 and 2x4 bricks with a bunch of 1x1 round pieces. Asked about purchasing a case of a certain brick... $100 bucks for a case. Going to rethink on this one. Plus the Assistant Manager said they didn't have any cases to sell because they are low on pieces for the Pick-a-Brick wall. Plus they never know what they will get even though the store puts in a "wish list". Wish they would get some good stuff on the wall...maybe Christmas we can see more white pieces?? plates would be nice.

That looks amazing!! I really like the look of the "rockiness" of the mountain. You know approximately how many bricks you have in that?? I',m starting to collect pieces to make a mountain side and tunnel entrances in my train layout.

I always make time for MOCing. When I have a long day and stressful day at the office...and want to come home and de-stress, I always make time for LEGO. I find myself always getting ideas in my head while working. I'm a lead at a local theme park - while I walk around checking on carts and the restaurant...I think of what I want to MOC in my city. Then after work I get the ideas out on paper or in brick-form. I also make it a morning pass-time, too, on the weekend. It's nice to wake up, open a window, feel the breeze and start MOCing and or building with the radio on. How relaxing!! Idea thinking is always on my mind...that way when I get home, I can brick build my ideas. For large piece collections....it will grow with time. You just can't buy tons and tons of LEGO at once. My piece collection just grows and evolves month to month. I set myself a budget as well. I set a certain amount for Pick-a-Brick cups, Bricklink orders, and collector sets. It hurts knowing how much I have spent; but, its a hobby I enjoy and good at. I also try to keep a low "extra-pieces" count...trying to incorporate every piece into my layout. I hate having leftover pieces not used in my layout

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
KringlesBricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
^^I went through the exact same thing with the Exo Suit that was a more "demanding" set then the modulars. It said it was out of stock and will ship on a later date. Just give it some time to pass, and Lego should deliver as promised - patients. If you see the set somewhere else, you can always purchase it....keep it boxed...and then return it once you get the one from LEGO. ...and this set is not completely sold out. They have tons at the Lego Store and the Legoland parks...so, they have the inventory scattered around. -
Gameboys were awesome back in the days! School trips, heck ya! Excellent build!!

Another nice addition. I can't wait to see it all together. I have enjoyed seeing progress on each of your cars. I can imagine how long this will be when its all together.

I really like this one! Small and compact with very nice details. I'm loving the small bathroom, ha-ha!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
KringlesBricks replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Just a random question...sorry for going off tangent. But, does anyone have a built LDD file or a brick list of just the Apartment modular of the Pet Shop Set?? I was going to build it in LDD tomorrow; but, was just curious if anyone has done so already?? ..just to get the brick piece list Reason being...I only want to mirror the apartment modular of the Pet Shop set adding it to my existing Pet Shop (2 apartments and 1 Pet Shop). I was curious if buying pieces off Bricklink is cheaper than buying another Pet Shop just for the apartment. -
MOC: Groothoofdspoort (Groothoofd City Gate)
KringlesBricks replied to pj_bosman's topic in LEGO Town
The dome is absolutely amazing!! Yea, there are gaps in the dome; but, I know it's hard to create perfect domes with Lego pieces. -
I did the dark red and reddish brown pattern for my sidewalk/path for my train station...not the best picture; but, it's what i have without being able to get a better picture of it. I would do the dark red/brown tiles for a small courtyard or the "old-brick" roads...sort of like what Boston, Mass old streets look like.

I like the pantograph! I find it interesting how we all seem to make them in different ways. These work well with this train.
-
I am currently MOCing right now; but, I always go back to sorting when I struggl thinking through the next design stage on a current MOC. Sorting gives me an idea of what my part collection consists of, and re-triggers ideas of parts to incorporate into my MOC. So, I do a lot of bouncing back and forth between sorting and MOC. Plus, sorting is fun and relaxing!

I really like the scene where the workers are working on the pipe!

Wow, I didn't know that! I google imaged searched the NYC boxcab, and can totally make it an "alternating engine". Thanks for the cool info!
