  1. That's my MOD of the 7710 train set I did back in 1983 or some time around there. I tried to make a diesel shunter. 30 years later I added some transclear windows to keep the dust out.
  2. Neat idea. I've seen similar setups used for dumping railway wagon of balls in Great Ball Contraptions (GBC). Good luck.
  3. I run HE (2 engines, 4 cars) with one PF train motor too. I replaced technic axle wheel boogie on the rear dummy engine with one using regular train wheels which rolls more freely. I get some slippage when starting out but it seems to be ok once it gets going and hitting the curves at full speed.
  4. Nice. Makes me want to open that MSIB 8110 box.
  5. There is a saying, "the grass is greener on the other side."
  6. LOL. And it is almost silverish in color.
  7. I used a bit of silicone lube on my little wheels. The lube seems to quiet down the noise a bit. Be careful not to use too much as to get on the tracks then it could cause problems for the traction tires on the PF train motors.
  8. I had similar issues playing Tech Ball with my PF IR controlled robot in a sunny open hotel lobby with fluorescent lights. It worked great at home but at the competition, it was sluggish in responding to IR commands.
  9. Excellent. Say hi to Jean-Marc for me.
  10. Welcome aboard. Selling childhood LEGO is only good if you won't have regrets later on.
  11. LEGO almost died in the early 2000s. They changed and came back. I don't think it is in their financial interest to try to please everyone. Some feelings will be hurt. But that's business. Lord Business.
  12. There is no charge for personal use from what I can tell.
  13. That is correct. I built it last week after it has been in storage for a few years. Almost forgot I have it.
  14. 42008 and 8264 are not it. That's not it either.
  15. Nice work. It would be appreciated if you could post some photos of how you did it. Thanks.
  16. I like the 6 wide. With the large 9V train wheels underneath, it reminds me of classic Lionel toy trains.
  17. 42023 is not correct but you are warm with Technic.
  18. Welcome to Eurobricks, scotiabricks. You can check out NovaLUG (http://www.novalug.ca/) for more east coasters.
  19. Ok, I'll post one. What set are these extras from?
  20. It depends on what your train interests are. I like the HE since I like modern passenger trains. I am not much of a steam train guy. If you like freight, then 7939 and 3677 are ones to get. You could MOD Santa Fe to run on PF. You would lose the fake diesel inside.
  21. What does your Halo train look like? How heavy is it? If it has to climb up or go down steep grades, you could make a cog railway using 1x4 gear racks between the rails.
  22. You should buy it and gift it to someone who loves trains and don't mind the junior nose job.
  23. I love the new stud shooters. They're so much fun until someone gets it in the eye. Day 036 of 365: Stud Shooters by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Keep firing. Those Rebel scums must be stopped. But sir, we are running low on ammo. Thank you. I think it might be a good thing. Thanks. Limited resources is only a limit if you make it a limit. It's still possible to do something great with limited resources. I get most my "spare" pieces from the Pick A Brick Wall at the LEGO Store. If you have a LEGO Store nearby, it is a good way to get various parts that may end up being useful or not. Those 1x1 tiles I used for lava sat for years in a container.
  24. Could be. There are a few MOCs of them around. Someone may have entered one for the Triple Contest here last year.
