  1. Looks great, and works really well with the lattice supports, too!
  2. Great model, and as an alternate it's even better. Lovely set of details you've been able to include, and I think the shaping is very well done. Nice interior, too!
  3. Part of that decision may simply be to take advantage of the market. There was such a craze for The Mandalorian that making the sets available to order now would also capitalize on more people who are fans of the show but maybe not regular Lego buyers, and by the time those were ready to actually ship who knows what the status of another season would be (production of everything is uncertain with the pandemic, etc.) or where the consumer awareness and demand might be 5 or 6 months from now whereas other sets (and different themes) wouldn't see that kind of variance (nor enough demand overall to make a pre-order offering worth it).
  4. Totally! I mean, I remember having to use IRC channels before that (and BBS chatrooms before that) so it really doesn't seem like ICQ and some of these others are all that outdated. But... they are. I saw that and it blew my mind! Was sure it was an April Fool's joke, but apparently not.
  5. This is truly fabulous! And love him carrying away that perfectly-scaled Scala girl.
  6. What? No it's not! Me and my college friends all used it to... uh... Oh.
  7. That's a really slick looking car! Cool shaping with the fenders (front & back) and the headlights. Nice look overall and you've done a good job with the wrap-around glass, too.
  8. Really fun! NPU with the animal tail pieces for the exhaust pipes, and I really like the use of those roof pieces on the sides!
  9. I think I commented on Flickr or somewhere on this - it's really great! The foliage, the tree, the wall/stone, and then the effect from all the lit lightsaber blades is fantastic! The other thing I think is nifty is that, since they've got that tiny round cross section, you could fill just about any shape space (regular or not) with this technique and have portal popping up in all sorts of fun spots. I'd love to build and display something like that... and the parts are cheap... but it's just SO, MANY, BARS!
  10. I think this is one of the better guides, if you read through this thread:
  11. Welcome to EB, Gianluca! That is a nice build- thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing more of you and your creations around the board. Happy building!
  12. I'm most frustrated by the Juniorization here. Did they really have to make this one large, custom piece when they could simply have used smaller plates and given us much more versatility beyond the main set build? I don't understand why they decided to push it down into the 4+ age range like this!
  13. A delightful build, and I like the smoke just as much in the static configuration as when it's in motion - looks great in both cases. Well done.
  14. Just beautiful. The techniques are wonderful, and the pipework in particular is incredibly well done. And properly functional as well. Bravo.
  15. Welcome to EB, Bolloxim! Lego is certainly a great way to spend time when you're isolated at home, especially with the rest of the family joining in! As for LDD, there are still plenty of avid users our there, but if you're just getting started I'd go with something more current and that still has active development and support. Stud.io may be the way to go. You can get it here: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/download.page Happy building!
  16. This whole thing is great! I appreciate all the details you put into it. The splattered eggs and embedded carrot projectile, and their contraptions for flinging them are all kinds of fun.
  17. Looks great, and a lovely way to display those figs... and an even better gift!
  18. Welcome to EB, Cjm! Plenty of good company for you here with Classic Space and Pirates. Are you excited about the Pirates sets coming out this year (Barracuda Bay and the big Creator set)? Happy building!
  19. Looking good. Really nice shaping so far. Ditto on the design for the white version looking best. Some clever design choices already, so looking forward to seeing how this progresses!
  20. Beautifully built! Really nice detailing throughout, and a nice incorporation of those functions. The front end is especially nicely sculpted.
  21. I definitely think it's 9605, so I guess the good news is that there are no original instructions that you're missing. If you're willing to open it and want ideas on what to use it for, I'd take a look at a vintage Expert Builder idea book, like #8888: http://oldinstructions.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/1980-8888-1-Expert-Builder-Idea-Book.pdf
  22. That is delightful and calming.
  23. That's adorable, and a lot of nice detail in a relatively small build. Nice job with the woodwork, and the crab is great!
  24. Welcome to EB, HRC! Happy building!
  25. Yes, very nicely done! Both the build and the photo. That flextube works really well for the belt, and the hat is so simply done but looks just right. Thanks for sharing.
