  1. There are not Lego images from the London toy fair, are you sure we are getting any from Nuremberg?
  2. sure, that's why no 8880 successor yet, they are testing the new parts since 1995, just 5 years to go.
  3. You are right!Except that being Technic in the Technic forum has some value...
  4. IMHO using a diff coupling two motors that are pretty much the same is a waste of space and weight and adds friction and failure points. Your solution looks well braced also, so no grinding. A 10 I'd say.
  5. Liars! All of them! Give it to me, I will gladly solve your problem keeping it for myself.
  6. Is that a mk II? Because I am pretty sure I bought that set already Dude! Stop teasing us!
  7. if I had knew back then I would have purchased the Ferrari, at first it looked to me that they were trying to pull another williams
  8. Did you ever try to move an UCS Imperial Star Destroyer? And over time it can't withstand its own weight, had to add another support so it wouldn't collapse, But It was a problem with the fancy design not the model size.
  9. In 2008 there were tons of cheap proper RC toys. There were even those small RC cars, the whole set cheaper than a single Lego IR receiver. And yes, those worked. For the price oh the sensor and remote there were small helicopters. In my opinion the IR remote and sensor are overpriced crap. Choosing IR was like the air company that choose to remove the single olive from the salad to lower costs.
  10. I remember some "RC" marketing using those lame IR remotes. Quite misleading at the time as RC for me always was Radio Control not stupid infrared Remote ControlMaybe something like this
  11. I love those old school sets. TLG lost the "form follows function" Id'say in 1999 or 2000, I guess in an effort to make the sets more appealing, by looking more like toys and less "educational".
  12. I don't think many would complain about the 5.9Kg of Lucio's truck right?
  13. We know Technic is smaller that other Lego Themes, in this very own forum the 2015 Star Wars thread has 148 pages and has a lot of info and opinions versus The 48 Technic pages filled mostly with speculations and wishes -and some frustration venting too-. Ok the SW guys are crazy and can go on and on over a single minifig but you get the point. It may prove difficult for Technic to get UCS models as SW does, but are you kidding me? Talking about price ceilings and system limits is ridiculous. SYSTEM LIMITS! What does that even mean? SW UCS and MOCS people pay instructions for prove that there are nos system limits or price ceilings. Obviously not that many paid 600€ for a MF but the only limit is that by now for Technic simply there are not enough of us.
  14. I disagree on all accounts but this is not the forum for the subject.
  15. For me there are Sports Cars and Super Cars. I don't think the term hypercar is necessary or widely accepted.
  16. My answer is no. Just compare the mobile cranes for example. Anyways there is a ceiling for the complexity achievable with a given part count. If your budget is of 2000 parts and you start by building the chassis and adding gears and mechanisms you may find pretty soon that you can't afford a body.
  17. 8458 is my favorite because it was innovative and big. 8461 and 8674 models were Silver champions on disguise. 42000 looks better, benefits from new parts but is smaller. It probably is the best but after so many years I still remember being in awe with Silver champion and not so much with 42000 due to the existence of the older models.
  18. Oh, thank you, I missed those posts I am eager to get Nuremberg pics in 3 weeks.
  19. Did Lego make any dual tire before? It does not look like a cost effective decision TLG would make.
  20. IMHO a RC motor that operates a switch is a function exactly as one that operates a gearbox or a pneumatic valve. Even if it is used to automate a switch that turns on/off some lights it isn't trivial as attaching the lights to the SBrick and the behaviour is not the same.
  21. Battery box for standard 18650 LiIon cells. Bluetooth remote Buggy motor Micro motor High rpm low torque motor
  22. In theory those pulleys need to free roll but I think those aren't, otherwise I don't understand the black pin that can be seen in the top right pulley. Probably the pulleys turn and the rope slides slightly on them.
  23. A few weeks ago I saw a video of someone using a ¿PSX? remote to control an SBrick. Can anyone confirm this and if so what remote is necessary for that?
  24. Well from what I know in the lasts years profits in % have increased over % revenue so that's why. They are lowering costs without lowering prices or they are increasing margins by charging more per brick.Unrelated to Technic but http://www.lego.com/en-us/aboutus/news-room/2014/november/lego-speed-champions As they are expanding franchises we can now fantasize about a McLaren 8880 successor.
