  1. Thanks 'Lordofdraagonss', I do realise the interior is basic but the reason was simple - I have it on Ideas so it can either spawn there or some Lego City designer takes inspiration.
  2. Thanks 'Wookiee', that's the kind I based the design on.
  3. Awesome MAN truck, excellent styling and scaling. Brick On 'michaelozzie' !
  4. Every few years I come up with a fresh bank design, this time not Australian but American. Here is my take on a Key Bank branch which has 1000 branches in the U.S.A., more details can be found on Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KeyBank Based on a 16x16 plate and minimum number of stickers just for signage a poster or two. The counter inside is more old school looking with the lights on either side of the customer service point and a computer as well built in to the counter. Plus as you can see the frontage has a brick built logo - a giant red key just above the signage saying Key Bank. This MOC was designed to join the ACE Hardware Store, US Post Office and Sinclair Gas Station projects. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/154267 Brick On everyone !
  5. The latest city gas station set got me thinking, where is there an ATM to get cash, no fridge to buy a carton of milk, etc., so the tiger decided to toss together a few accessories. Here is the whole collection. For starters a display rack of light globes and brake fluid. Anyone for milk and cheese. Finally if you need cash...... I tossed this on Ideas, but support has been lacking a bit. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/151858 Brick On everyone !
  6. Maybe we shouldn't be so harsh on the new police sets until we have seen more images especially shots of the interior of the police station. Though from what I can see so far it's exterior is a backward step to 2011, 2008 and even 2005 police stations. Sadly we need to wait till the New York Toy Fair in February to see both first and second waves together to see if 2017 is a boom or bust year for Lego City.
  7. I thought this looked familiar , I should of put a higher dollar value on it because of the door . Still I say it's an excellent copy of a modern London bus, Brick On 'doink' !
  8. Excellent office chair and yeah, he looks totally into his job ? Brick On 'LucByard' !
  9. Impressive, very impressive design and have you considered publishing it in Ideas ? Brick On 'CM4Sci' !
  10. The tiger shall now give his opinion on first wave Lego City 2017. Rehashes and a lame police station, a total backwards step - sorry no sale, good I can spend that money on the blue truck with loader and pizza van. I need to see more pictures of the bank to decide and it has a rehashed riot van from a few years ago ? Some of the vehicles look half baked, I'm sorry but I'm not impressed by what I see and I pray that the second half wave will be much better.
  11. Very nice modular building, Brick On 'RogerSmith' !
  12. Awesome designing there and I love the oil spill on the floor - very clever ! Brick On 'Norton74' !
  13. Your small village keeps growing 'greg3', looks great ! Keep going and Brick On !
  14. I wonder who at Lego makes the choices eh ? Only a handful of sets again I'm interested in and mostly it's the police stuff ? Yeah, sounds weird me saying that and the pizza van plus a few more realistic city great vehicle sets. It will be interesting to see if the police uniforms and vehicle detailing change again or will it continue through from this year's series ?
  15. Well, I finally received a reply to my questions.......... Dear Shaun, Thanks for taking the time to write to us. Towards the end of last week we implemented new guidelines on LEGO Ideas. One of these guidelines was a change to the milestones that LEGO Ideas members must achieve in order to receive additional days to gather support. To be exact, all projects must now gather 100 supporters in the first 60 days after submitting a project. We have chosen to implement these changes with immediate effect for all projects that have gathered less than 100 supporters, which unfortunately has meant that a number of your projects have been affected by this new guideline. This is all outlined in our blog post that you can find here: https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/1-blog/post/73. We did encounter a small anomaly due to the update though. The system looked at projects with more than 100 and less than 1,000 supporters and saw they were now short 60 days, so it gave those projects 60 days, and also triggered the new Official Comment for 100 supporters. Since there’s only one template, the comment said that 365 days were added. Oops! Something similar will happen to projects that currently have between 1,000-5,000 supporters when they reach 5k; the script will see they are short 60 days and they’ll actually receive 242 days instead of 182. Projects currently under 100 won’t have these issues. We didn’t completely anticipate this. But, since the “error” is in your favor, the days are yours to keep. Please note that no projects however have had days removed from them that was not intentional and in line with our guidelines update. Please accept our apologies for the confusing message mentioning 365 days—we are in fact only adding +60 days to these projects. Kind regards, Hasan LEGO® Ideas Seriously, OOPS is all they can say ? No, no, promise deliver Ideas - if you didn't write 365 days then no problem but to do so then not deliver is not fair. If this kind of monkey business goes on then I could see the end to Ideas all together as people will not be worried about posting anything. Already project posters are saying "oh, mine isn't going to make 100" - great, Lego crush peoples hopes which sound so anti what Lego stands for I my opinion.
  16. Ah, so much for this wonderful new 60 days to get a 100 supporters, there is a major bug in the system ! Those with projects over a hundred supports are being promised 365 days extra but only been given an extra 60 days ? Seriously they better fix this problem quick ! I will not mind the new system for if you gain 100 supports real quick you technically have a 100 support headstart.
  17. The thing I dislike about the new arrangement is the 60 days to score a hundred which went blanket across Ideas NOT based on time of posting so projects posted within the last few days by people believing they had a year to try and gain what they could now have only 60 days a day later. 365 one day, the next 60 is that fair ? I don't mind gaining an 60 days on most of my projects which are already over a hundred.....odd, does that mean if you score a hundred an extra 60 days always I very much doubt it. Personally I'm tired of a few things on ideas, fandom pushed projects where people support it and nothing else plus and I know many of my friends/followers do it - digital only projects. Sorry, but the heart of Lego to me is the brick itself in real life. Yes, I use LDD for designing but my end result is in brick......call me old fashioned and that was my two bits worth. Brick On everyone !
  18. Hospital on a 32x32 baseplate would have to be very tall to fit the basics into it. Anyway, we are only guess......aren't we ?
  19. I wouldn't mind a release of earlier modulars but like the reissue of the winter toy shop which saw improvements to the original set. Say more interior in the Green Grocer or more merchandise in the Grand Emporium, though some more fresh modulars would be nice too. Having four modulars now, yeah the tiger is a convert ! (what else do you do when they are on sale ) I wonder when we might hear a sniff of what the next will be ?
  20. I find the biggest problem on Ideas is member retention, people sign up post a bit support a bit and then knick off either never returning or coming back after a few years. It's really hard to judge what people like or want, it does also seem social media is having less an impact as it did a year or so ago. Hence the number of sets reaching 10K are fewer, gee I be lucky if I ever get to 1K oh, well that's life.
  21. I was the only person tonight in Target Newton, seriously they are in trouble - 2 Battle of Hoth UCS sets, 3 Tie UCS sets and 2 Bat-cave sets and nothing else. The pricing brings them into line with BigW and stablemate Kmart in way but doesn't help families trying to afford Christmas and there might be a few kids this year with only few presents under the tree - Scrooge is alive and well at Target. Now on the Kmart front, no new sets in stores YET but up on their website many of the sets slated for August release are up there. A smile came to my face seeing the gas station is to be 95 dollars and the airport only 119 dollars.
  22. Very nice modular design, Brick On 'SollX' !
  23. Thank you for this awesome review 'Rufus', my first car was a 1963/64 white Beetle so this might be my first non-minifig set I buy . And yes, QLD is for Queensland......but I wonder Queensland, many of the famous surf contests in Oz are held in other states ? The design is as close as you can get in Lego to a real Beetle . Brick On Review On 'Rufus' !
  24. This is the best miniland scale design I have seen in a few years, like wow try this one out in Ideas please you might get a surprise ! The level of detail is beyond awesome, gee that's the second time today I've written that line. I totally this MOC, now the tiger thinks minifig scale ? (yes, I know it's been done before, but not by me ! ) Brick On 'Norton74' !
  25. Awesome tank, it would be cool for it to go against a Tiger tank ? Brick On 'legofrik' !
