  1. Actually agreements could include covering certain price points and numbers of sets. It is worth mentioning that agreements for licenses could include anything that the two parties agree to and could be very different depending on the license holders. The idea that there are some imaginary limits to what license agreements can contain is not in the realm of reality. Having every set at the same price neglects the sectors who would pay more or less for a product. Like it has been mentioned many times AFOL only make up a small percentage of sales for most of TLG lines so they are always going to direct the sets toward their main customer, children.
  2. Just the Bo5a and Bilbo return journey home with both having a similar amount of space in the book. I think if only two movies were made it would have followed the book much closer of course. I can understand why the third movie was added, a second one would have been very cramped together, but three is almost too much. AUJ was slow but orderly while there rest just seems to be a mess. I expect TABA will end with a great deal of foreshadowing of TLoR. Which is why I find a 2015 winter, maybe summer, release of TLoR wave three likely. I think after what happened to Star Wars there won't be any more George Lucasing trilogies. And besides PJ doesn't own the license so he doesn't have the same freedom as George did.
  3. Agreed, why should I waste my time looking at a set that will never be made. Sorry but TLG is never going to make a set based on order 66 and the Jedi temple due to events that occurred there. You are much better off associating it with Yoda escaping. Telling your audience their opinion doesn't matter, while needing their vote and word of mouth, seems greatly misguided.
  4. Except Radagast doesn't die since he is mentioned in TLoR.
  5. I,don't think there is any ways to reseal a bag and to reproduce a sealed bag would take specialized equipment. Doing anything you have mentioned would get a person removed from bricklink, not to mention they would be committing mail fraud which is a federal offense, if shipped by USPS, not sure about other carriers. So the risk would more than outweigh the reward. I know it's a bit,of a leap of faith ordering off of bricklink but I've never had any kind of problem. I also stick to those who have high numbers of transactions. But even when I have not there has never been an issue.
  6. Yes you are right, it was comic con. I,think there seemed to be a good deal missing in London so I don't really count it. But my point was, I guess, that we probably won't see much until the leaked pics come out from production. But who knows, TLG is always looking to throw us a curve ball, some times a slider. Are they much stricter in Nuremberg about who gets in? Because I haven't seen anyone anywhere saying they have been to the fair. All the info seems to based on photos from Promo Bricks. http://www.promobricks.de/tag/spielwarenmesse
  7. I don't think it's looking good for the NY toy fair at the moment. They might do what they did last year and just reveal one set due to movie secrecy.
  8. For those in the u.s, lego shop at home has the winter wave of Star Wars. They are going to be available Feb. 17. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Star-Wars-ByTheme
  9. That's why they are called friend fries!
  10. And isn't this the same catalog that all retailers get and seen by some people here who would have said if TLoR had new sets? My guess TLG is either still keeping TLoR wave 2 in production into this year or allowing retailers to sell Orthanc. Given its only one page and TLoR wave 2 seeming to have mostly disappeared from stores I'm guessing the later.
  11. Yes there is that too. There may be less enthusiasm for some to go since the London fair just ended. If we,do hear anything this weekend is the most likely.
  12. Except adding the firehouse would greatly increase the price of the set. And while fans of ghostbusters may be happy to buy the car they may not want to pay a great deal more for what is basically a brick building. All the Cuusoo sets have been small and resonably priced, so yes this is typical of Cuusoo. People should also keep,in mind that the license holders for any of theses idea could have easily said no. Because they are not interested, confined by other agreements or have future plans. A set ultimately has to stand on it own, so those that are iconic are ultimately going to do much better than an original idea that does not already have an established fan base or has universal appeal. All puns intended.
  13. Could be they showed them to who they needed to in London and don't need to repeat. And it is only day 2 of a 5 day show. Plus they could just be showing the sets only in private meetings due to restrictions placed on them. Film studios I think are even more controlling than TLG. Deep breaths.
  14. Ever try powdered graphite? It's awesome with metal parts but not sure how it would work with plastic.
  15. This is awesome, love that movie. Will be the first Cuusoo set I buy.
  16. Just make a poll based on all the suggestions so far. That would seem to cover most everything. If I were to pick one minifig it would be the witch king, though a prologue Sauron would be great too. I guess the hard part is just deciding on one thing. So many possibilities.
  17. I think any successful cartoon or movie for children usually have references that only adults would, get. Sponge bob is a great example, an amused adult is more likely to let their children watch it. Scooby doo is another classic example. The sets look great and I also like the color orange. I have several of the older arctic sets and look forward to expanding my winter mantel scene that the kids love.
  18. I watched Black Sails last night and I did enjoy it. It's a much better depiction of how pirates really were and not the Hollywood version. I would highly recommend it with the warning it is very violent.
  19. Well so far there have not been any reports from any lines at Nuremberg, only pictures. The fair does last until Monday so there is still plenty of time. TLG,would very well be waiting to unveil sets later in the show especially if there were finished.
  20. That was what I was thinking when I saw that.
  21. New York Toy fair.
  22. Me too. I'm not sure an Erebor set filled with minifigs we already have is going to do well even with Smaug. I am hoping for Thrain. I would recommend bricklink for all your missing minfig needs.
  23. I thought pirates were already a part of pop culture. I am interested in see this show, got the DVR set. Aaarrrr.
  24. I would like to join. I'm very interested in knowing about creating a good review.
