  1. I wouldn't hold my breath to expect to get much of anything from episodes I-iii the next several years. The new rebels series should indicate the direction they are going in.
  2. TLG also considers themes like pirates and space to be evergreen. I think the journey continues is part of the foreshadowing we will see in the hobbit to TLoR. Is it possible that TLG has more of a long term plan for TLoR? There are still plenty of sets that could be made and would fill out the castle line in less generic terms. Helms Deep was very popular and there are other locations such as Minas Tirith, Osgiliath, Minas Morgul, etc that could be released over time that could fall easily within the castle line. Wishful thinking? Maybe, but it could explain wave 2 and the lack of gondor soldiers. But it also might mean people would have to wait longer to see some sets.
  3. Seems something that TLG wouldn't have to mention after the previous 3 waves of TLoR and The Hobbit. Most people are familiar with the literary work, but even so the sets are based on the movies. Which is made even more relevant since three of the four sets are based on scenes that do not come from the book.
  4. Yeah I think you are correct. And I think the reference was more of linking it to the castle line.
  5. Didn't brick fanatics report about seeing that same sign in London? My mind seems to be going, and perhaps mixing my themes. Can't find the quote I remember reading. I think that a December release makes more sense anyway. I imagine the second wave did really good over the holidays and was part of the reason for the change. As for how it would affect a third TLoR wave is really anyone's guess. It really comes down to,TLG's schedule.
  6. If they are going to do a reveal would it even be in the press release? I know people had their hopes up but it shouldn't be that much of a surprise based on last year.
  7. Not sure it's going to be GoTG. http://www.thebrickfan.com/more-images-of-lego-marvel-super-heroes-the-milano-spaceship-rescue-76021/
  8. The ball jointed wings are great. I wonder since they released this image if that means they are ready to reveal Smaug for the set? It would be a nice reveal for NY.
  9. I think part of the reason green lantern is not in a set is because the lego movie is mainly focuses on non licensed material. While yes licensed figures are including because they draw in certain interests and certainly are a part of TLG's success, in the movie they are mostly secondary. Batman provides some balance while at the same time the movie makes fun of him constantly. TLG has indicated that they wish to become a little less reliant on licensed material which while having made the company profitable can be a challenge working with.
  10. Reminds me of the original gi joe dolls. That helmet is very WWII looking.
  11. Actually the reports from the London toy fair talk about TLG indicating superheroes becoming evergreen. And superheroes are very popular. As for licenses, one of the reasons for the Lego Movie is to help TLG grow their non licensed portion of the company. Not to be so reliant on the money they bring in. I suspect if the Lego movie, sets do really, well we will see more non licensed lines coming out.
  12. I always liked the gunners helmets. They are a nice reflection of the death star architecture. Not to mention if the weapon you operate can destroy planets you need something unique. I plan to get at least a few of these sets, love the figs.
  13. Arriving!
  14. It should be interesting to see how the sea cow does at that price.
  15. What website would that be? And toy fair?
  16. He had a jet packet and he looked really cool. Doesn't take any more than that for a little boy. So my brother and I were discussing the other day while waiting to see the lego movie with our kids the upcoming episode vii. A life size millennium falcon has been built and is ready for filming. Plus a good deal of other models have been built so they can tone down the cgi. They are trying to make the new movie look more like the OT. I also know the old writer was let go because he wanted to focus on the children of Luke, Leia and Han. The new writers focused on the three themselves. This led to talk about the cgi additions made to the OT by Lucas and how it's now hard to find unaltered versions without paying a great deal. I wondered that since Disney seems to be trying to capture the old look if at some point they would rerelease the unaltered versions. Any thoughts from people here? Any rumors to be told of?
  17. Best is ANH, I still remember seeing it in the theater and a five yr olds life was forever affected. Followed closely by ROTJ. Worst would be a tie between episodes 1-III.
  18. Don't forget all the Russian and Norwegian cities that exist inside the arctic circle. Not to mention polar bears only live in the arctic, not the Antarctic. But any geography expert would know that.
  19. I think adults take batman character type much more seriously than kids do. Batman got many laughs.
  20. Be great for An Unexpected Slumber party moc. Though it would be better if he had a pipe to smoke, and yes i know that would never happen, just saying. It's nice, not thrilling but nice. It certainly is not going to compel me to buy from GameStop.
  21. Yes I misspoke. It's open to thoses who qualify and not by invitation.
  22. NY toy fair starts Sunday. Its open to the public so anything displayed will have plenty of photos taken.
  23. There are plenty of reasons.
