Take your time please and it's always good to hear MOCs are getting perfected. Besides, there are still quite a few of your MOCs on my waiting to build list. PS: Echo that your new Jeep is amazing! Really like the balance between looking and function you have achieved on all your MOCs!

Here is my re-colored version of 42066. I tried to make it look like the paint job of VF-84/VFA-103, hope you like it.

Another master piece from you! I really like how you captured the shape of the car, almost every detail, it's just a pleasure to look at it. Not a big fan of your M4 DTM's door and backend, cuz I think they are a liitle too "bulky". But for this one, it's just PERFECT!

[WIP] F14A Tomcat
falconluan replied to Jeroen Ottens's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
wow! It's very promising. For the color, I vote for a white one with some red, or a medium blue one.- 59 replies

As for the crude looking of the truck, I think it will look better if there is a 5L white beam behind the door underside the L beam. Judging from the video, adding them will not affect the steering of the trailer.

Yes! I kept refreshing this page since Sariel surfaced today and finally got an update! I'm really looking forward to 42062 since it has lots of pieces in "new" color (not count the expensive 42056). Thank you Sariel for the wonderful reviews!

People offen complain that the pnuematic switches are hard to use, especially the downward movement. I tried to improve this by the following structure: It was inspired by the controlling mechnism of 42040. The longer control arm provides more precise controlling and it is much easier to use. There is some overlap between range of the two linkages' movement. However, the interference is totally acceptable. I tried to align the control setup the same as real world's excavators despites it seems that the opening of the bucket is via a button on the real ones. Thanks and here is the video

[TC10] Tracked Excavator
falconluan replied to mpj's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Wow, I love the exterior very much! The color scheme is very Liebherr and pleasant to look at. Also, love the compact design! -
Yes, agreed that may look better, I'll have a try. Thanks again

Glad you like it. You mean the hoses on the top of the boom? or in front of the stick? I put the hoses there to reflect the real thing's set up. Though the hoses are too HUGE speaking of scales. The hoses around the stick are a bit off from the real one's set up. They can be put inside the 5x11 frame and stick out from the side holes, but the hoses will need to be cut shorter. I'd say I prefer to stay the current setup more. Anyway, thank you for your advice.

[MOC] LEGO Technic Wall-e
falconluan replied to falconluan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks and glad that this MOC will make you and your granddaughter happy. For the Sbrick related, you can visit https://www.sbrick.com/ directly for help. Also, there is a long thread discussing it in this forum somewhere. For lights in the eyes, there is enough room for the wires of LED. I don't have too much experience on studful building. The simplest way I can think of is to replace the black "eyeball" part with a transparent one. -
Thank you very much for your great suggestions. I'll try building something to replace the frame on the top of the cabin. Yes, you are right that I am trying to achieve a "pure" technic solution here. A pile of white 2412b tiles may fit better on the right side but I think they are a little bit fragile. Aside from what you proposed, I'll try to use some combination of white beams and grey axles. Thanks again for your suggestion and encourage.

Thanks and a little update: Undercarriage is almost done. Now only details and the auto compressor are left to be done. Considering the scale of the treads, I chose the 5L treads finally. I think both its width and length fits better here. What do you think? For the tread color, I think black looks better, as it is consistent with other part of the undercarriage as the real thing. Also, for the right side of the super structure, I use the LBG 5x11 panel for two reasons: 1. I don't have enough white ones. 2. I try to present the shutters. Again, what do you think? Should I use grey? White? or build some real shutters? Thanks for watching

Thank you for all the kind words above. I think I'll use the 5L wide track, seems that fits the scale better. Having not decided the color of the track yet.

Continue updating: I will not make instruction for it so started building the final version before finishing designing the undercarriage. Final version of the shovel and stick, hope you like it. Of course, a few tubes left to be plugged. Toke the suggestion about the ladders above, I used some 1x2 half beams to represent the ladders, thanks again, guys. The side view of the finished hull, any suggestion is welcome. Thanks for watching.
