After months of break, I decided to continue my tractor series MOC creation and then TC25 kicked off. I'm trying to build a tractor in similar scale with my other tractor MOC, which is 56mm front wheel and 75mm back wheel. Of course, the chassis and bodywork will be newly designed. I chose 8284 and will try to accommodate its features into the smaller scale, not include the clutch function I guess. To have a good reference, I will build a 8284 using my part storage and post comparison photos with the smaller version in this thread, so please keep tuned. Here is the initial progress: back chassis of 8284

#2 CLAAS Axion Terra Trac As its real world counter part, it is easily modified from a normal wheeled Axion 900 . The modified area is rear axle, central area and rear fender(the track is longer while lower than wheel, so the tank is moved from center to the rear fender position) . Features: Pivoted solid front axle Pivoted rear track HOG steering Adjustable front hitch Adjustable rear hitch Rear PTO connected directly with rear differential Modular design: chassis, rear hitch, cabin are built separately Instructions on RB: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-130219/ Video introduction is on the way More Pics at: bricksafe link A closer look at the rear track: Thanks for watching!

Yes, 4x4 dish will be better here, it is thinner which makes extra weight addon possible. However, it is an aged part now...

The diameter of rim is a little bit larger than the actual scale. So I used a smaller cover to make the tire visually thicker than it is.

er, based on RB, the red 40 teeth gear discontinued long time ago.... I tried to use a bigger idler at the front but failed to find a suitable part. The track is the 3 stud narrow one, so only the 40/24/16/8 can fit....

Yes, this is the first of a planning series and the next will be CLAAS Axion Terra Trac, which only needs modifying the rear end of the wheeled Axion as in reality . Below is what the prototype looks like now. The next of this one will probably be a Case IH Optum, which has similar shape and dimension. I also plan to add some attachments for these tractors, but it will be a longer term plan.

Yes, most of the headlights are missing there, I tried to build the front using connectors but the result was not satisfying...

I saw your post in that thread and that was before I started making this tractor . Now I totally agreed with you on your point.

Besides the wider width, the diameter of Zetro tires is a little bit too large for this MOC, the 42124 tire is almost perfect match diameter-wise. So I'm with the group that insists T:G should release more types of tractor tires!

[MOC] ORA electric car
falconluan replied to falconluan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Some updates: PDF instruction is finished and the rebrickable link is up now. Will make a video soon. @The01, @Scoar Sonander Thank you for your kind words, glad you like it :) @Hrafn The steering and rear suspension are both quite simple, you can get a general idea based on the chassis and bottom render pics. Please let me know if they are not clear enough -

My choice is 42124 + 42129, Pros: The new 81mm tractor tires and the white wheel 4 hubs Not very costly Cons: lack of XL motor, but it seems to have little difference with L motor, also I can buy a couple of them separately Also, I think the new differential is worth to be listed in the table since its price is still high now.

42122 Jeep Wrangler
falconluan replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Built a modified version thanks to @Sariel's great speed building video Since I haven't update my part collection with the newly released 2020 sets yet, you can see the compromises now and there and of course, I don't have any 2021 parts While the new 56mm tractor tire is very welcomed, I don't think it matches the car better than the old balloon tires though. The smaller version of the off road tire on 42124 will suite the car best. Changed the color of C pillar and didn't bother build the roof stuff, also, modified the front fender. Tried to move the headlight back and build a 3D grill. Sadly that I can't keep the iron 7-hole grill here. -
Haha, the shell is there just to finish the look. Like the real one, the shell adds little rigidity, it is attached to the frame by 4 connection points on the roof only and can easily be removed/installed. The frame itself has enough rigidity to be played alone without the shell. Thanks. I'll make a video soon however don't expect too much on the 2 L motors
