Interesting one for me. Not being a massive car buff, one porsche looks like another, so when they annouced another one so soon after the orange beast.....however I actually think it looks smoother and with better lines than the orange one when compared side by side. I appreciate the functions are not present, but it looks good. Not a £140 set for me, but will pick it up down the road on discount.

This set took a lot of stick when it was first annouced, but I'm liking it more than the Porsche. For the price point, the new little wheels, etc. I'm thinking this is a great little set.

How do you take care of the stickers?
paul_delahaye replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Although it's quite a costly option, I've started buying the parts from a seller in Germany, who litho prints the stickers onto the parts. For the big sets, I've gone down this route rather than applying the stickers. they look great on the Technic Claas tractor. -

yes, this is the only one I want out of the 1st half, I'll pick them all up on discount, but this one I want 2 copies! A and B are both good. -

Carousel 10257 - selling for £124.99 on John Lewis!
paul_delahaye replied to brickmeistro's topic in LEGO Town
I'm needing a similar discount on a creator roller coaster! But no one but Lego in the UK appears to be selling it yet? John Lewis is good for discounts. They have taken over from Tesco Direct and Very in providing me with good levels of discount this year! -
I used to use the stanley organisers with the lift out tubs, this allowed me to not have to tip out the entire organiser. But I personally prefer tipping the big sets into a pile and searching for the bricks, it adds hours to the building experience, and I feel I get better value out of the set this way. I makes me look at the parts much more than I would If I just grabbed them and assembled them.

Parisian Restaurant or Pet shop ? which one to buy?
paul_delahaye replied to ks6349's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The Restaurant, hands down -
I think leaks are good for the forums, maybe not for Lego. But for the forums, this year, I think they have been quite stagnent. I mean there is 25 pages of people speculating, and asking for pictures on the Technic forum, with barely anything to go on. I think it would be better if Lego officially leaked things to the forum, like a new mould, or a minifig torso so it actually encouraged decent discussion rather than speculation. I used to have access to a retailer freinds catalogue, he would not let me take pictures rightly so, but I could have a good look at the catalogue, and then share my memories which would in turn create good discussion.

The old Red Lego Micro Motor was well known to be unreliable and often seized up. It was also quite noisy when running. It also ran at quite slow speed and low torque. But depends on your needs. Lego used it a few times outside of the F1 hauler, it also appeared in a police/coastguard launch as a motor to turn the radar. and a couple of other sets. Once I believe in a Technic Universal set? They are also quite expensive but as you say, were be very compact, it might rotate the super structure of the crane, but I'm unsure if it would have the power to raise a loaded container I personally love to see motorised/animated layouts,

really nice build, I think those Brick Bricks 1x2 have been a great step forward for Lego, I just wish they were a little more affordable in bulk, as I can always think of a lot of uses for them, especially when I see them in other colours like you've used.

yes I saw this too and thought to myself, that App-Controlled Batmobile really is not selling well!

This is really cool, I never understood why Lego did not continue those mini sets officially. I guess the first lot of 5 never sold very well. nice job

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
paul_delahaye replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Sky police with Parachutes, reminds me of those cheap plastic toy soldiers with parachutes that you threw in the air as a child. On the up side, I'm loving they have bought back the Light & Sound brand name, I just hope the technology is as compact as it used to be. The image almost looks like the light brick is 6 x 2 x 1 stud in size, which would be hard to incorporate into most designs. -
I was thinking the same, I've still got the Bugatti, crane, 2 pull backs, a forest machine and a catamaran to build, I'm so behind this year. However looking at the 2 prelims we have seen, I don't yet have a lot to rush on building the backlog for! I'm really hoping that both of these are fake images as they look beyond prelim images. That forest machine, the graple looks so basic. Not sure there is much function in that at all.

The first thing I saw, were Plants from plants......packaged in a plastic bag........... I am loving this set, and can't wait to add it to the collection. It's a little more than I was possibly expecting it to be priced at, but stick a great set. Glad they went for printed parts and did not deviate from the original.
