  1. Perhaps a bus will join some of the Lego City 'Great Vehicles' in future? Not as part of a larger set but on its own, perhaps with a driver and 2 or passengers (preferably with new torsos and either elderly or children).
  2. I would like to see some of the characters from the Lego Movie made into real figs, particularly the lady in the green summer torso with spots and the guy with braces. The figures in the saloon are also fantastic - can anybody find any pics?
  3. Gender: Female Occupation/print on torso: Little Bo Peep Type of headgear: Pink Bonnet with blonde curled hair Type of face: Worried (perplexed as to the location of her sheep!) Color on torso/legs: Pink dress design Accessory: A shepherd’s crook and possibly a lamb or sheep if not too big Gender: Female Occupation/print on torso: Speed skater Type of headgear: Helmet Type of face: Determined Color on torso/legs: Any Accessory: Ice skates (nothing new, I know, but a good re-use of parts and a way to build up a collection of skates for winter/ice rink MOCs without relying on old series. Also a means of having a female character that is represented as being a strong role model. Come on Series 12!
  4. ..and some Lego City Savannah/Outback sets please! My favourite 2014 City set is the Campervan - hopefully the train and station will not rely on stickers.
  5. I'm not at all bothered that certain 'City' sets don't take place in the city. The old Town theme had some great sets outside the Town Centre - the beach sets, Canyon Creek, Outback... *sigh*
  6. Are there any sets announced we have yet to see pictures of yet? Does anyone know if there will be any further waves of sets based on the film (i.e. future sets planned but not yet identified what they will be)? I am looking forward to seeing the film to see if there are any possible further sets that could be made!
  7. "I would like to see a new 1980s spaceman in different colours too" Yes, it would have been great to have lots of different coloured representations of the classic space figs.. Perhaps a scene at the end where Benny calls in reinforcements! I would have particularly wanted a green one but also orange, gold and light blue.
  8. Can anyone tell if the station set includes stickers? It looks like I'd be able to build something very similar from my existing parts and there are no new minifig torsos, etc which make this not worth buying for me, as nice as it looks. I only ask because some of the Friends sets (the lemonade stand for example) have printed tiles, which are much better IMO.
  9. Like many of you here I have really enjoyed the Collectible Minifigure Series as this has allowed us to add a variety of new character roles to our creations, which may not have otherwise been available in a normal line. For example, a stone age theme perhaps wouldn't have been particular successful (even more so without a historically inaccurate inclusion of dinosaurs) but Series 1 Caveman and his female counterpart in Series 5 were a real treat. However, my favourite part of the CMF series are the new accessories we have seen since these began. It is actually quite impressive (think of the saxophone, magic lamp, seagull, tennis racquet, teddy, new skis, violin case, cat, oscar statuette, tool box, guitar, butcher's steak, maracas, baseball bat, chihuahua, artist's palette, ice skates, monkey etc...). I am particularly disappointed therefore that there are not more new accessories in The Lego Movie series (especially with the price increase) so I hope that the real Series 12 later this year will include some new moulds for accessories (tools, weapons, equipment, etc). So which minifigure accessories (not whole figures) do you think we are missing? Which items would you like to see your minifigures with - either brand new moulds, remoulds of existing accessories or recolours of existing elements?
  10. Fingers crossed here for sheep too - long overdue to the Lego System-scale world, much like many other animals! (I think a shepherd as a CMF would also not include one due to size constraints). Yes Aanchir, the Metroliner is definitely my all-time favourite set - there are some clever brick-built train MOC fronts but they never look as good. Hopefully the new train will be even half as good (although I am willing to bet a low minifigure count, poor colour scheme, fewer accessories and less-detailed interior will mean this isn't the case. I had hoped the next train would represent an Australian Outback setting (like the Ghan or Indian-Pacific with kangaroos and a set no 6444 type structure), an Andean railway (with minifigures to match) or the Canadian Rockies (modern luxury train with trees, totem poles and a viewing carriage).
  11. That's really disappointing to hear. I think I will hold back on a lot of these then, as it is difficult justifying £2.50 for a single figure, none of which really have any new accessories. I also agree that future sets will probably also be priced the same. I hope these don't sell as well here as a result. In a way it is good news I have no interest in the Simpsons so I don't have to spend much later in the year.
  12. The doctor torso look great - any chance these will used for future hospital sets or will these remain unique to the film sets? The rest of the set is fairly good and nice to have something that isn't police/fire/construction. I may buy this but only after the ice cream van.
  13. There's nothing to discuss... it should definitely come back! Not just the Orient theme but other parts of the world - one of my favourite set of the Orient was the elephant cart so it would great to add more animals like rhinos, hippos, kangaroos, giraffes, plus more boats and trains (Trans-Siberian?), cable cars, an underwater set (with old-style divers) and the Arctic. I'm disappointed the Lego Movie isn't more Adventure-theme orientated.
  14. *weeps at the butchered blue bike*
  15. Great review as always White Fang! Sadly, it wasn't for a 'normal' series which isn't you fault but I do always enjoy seeing your detailed pictures of every part along with comparative pictures for similar themed figs. My favourite parts are the heads for Larry, Lincoln and Lord Business, the Hawaiian shirt torso and the female robots' hairpieces but no 'must have' figures. I do really like repeats to add variety so I am fairly pleased to see a different Mexican sombrero and mermaid tail. Hopefully having a panda figure won't prevent a teddy costume guy being made in future. The most disappointing part of this series is the lack of new accessories. Roll on 2015 so we can enjoy reading White Fang's great review of a proper minifig series as this is the first where I haven't wanted all the figures and am quite indifferent about many and it doesn't sound like we will get another normal wave soon. (Is anyone else having trouble typing?)
  16. I agree about the use of stickers too - horrid things!
  17. I hope so but would prefer the guy in the grey hat in your banner below! (in yellow of course)
  18. One grievance I do have if sets appear based on the game characters is Professor X's head stud. Now that Lego have made 'bald' pieces for minifigures (Grandpa and Shakespeare from the collectible lines),it seems wrong to have the big stud on show. Same with Lex Luthor I suppose.
  19. I don't personally care what the series is going to be called but I think many are concerned when we will receive the next 'normal' line of CMFs. I'm hoping we don't have to wait until late 2014 (or even worse, 2015) if these 'other' lines are going to replace them timewise rather than numberwise. However, I don't really feel this is too different from the usual, but the Simpsons will definitely be. It does seem that the most popular figures from the majority of reactions here are Lincoln, Shakespeare and the Coffee Guy, which could possibly have been in a normal wave. On the whole I like this series thanks to a few great new parts but it is quite limited and probably my least favourite so far. It is a shame that most of the minifigures I do like come with the sets (which I generally don't like) - wish some of them could have been individual figures like the doctor/surgeon, jogger, Western bandits, bearded refuse collector and guy with the brown hat in the Western plane although I won't pay for a whole set just for one minifigure. Can't wait for the 12th 'normal' series, whatever it'll be called!
  20. I'm not personally bothered that he's not in the Lego Movie sets. I am bothered, however, that he's not in a current line of available Adventurers sets! Come on Lego, stop messing about with silly mish-mash themes and bring back Johnny T and his foes and followers (and Monster Fighters while you're at it!).
  21. I did wonder if any of the musicians from the Lego Rock band computer game would ever be made... Not sure if he was even in it but think an Elton John with star glasses would be funny. Elvis is the most recognisable musician in the world though. Historically, I suppose Genghis Khan could also be made generically... Most recognisable historical people to me are from the UK and USA so Queen Vic, Elizabeth I, Henry VIII would all work well and how about a non-robotic Davy Crockett? One big issue though is skin colour as possibly the world's most recognisable figure when I was a kid was Nelson Mandela. Certain film stars perhaps... Charlie Chaplin, Bruce Lee, Marilyn Monroe, John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever would be fairly iconic
  22. Hopefully it won't officially be Series 12, although I'm not too bothered about this as there are many figs which could have been in a regular series anyway. It's the following series (Simpsons) I'm worried about. Hopefully we will get at least 2 regular CMF series next year and that the Simpsons (if they are sadly going to happen), as well as possibly Lego Movie figs, will be 'in addition to' rather than 'instead of' the usual ones. Think we would have heard about Series 12 by now though if the movie series was an additional set. He does seem to have the air of a sex pest about him regardless of whether he's gay, straight or bi! Makes me think of Quagmire in Family Guy. Presumably in the film he'll just be a silly guy who just 'forgets' to put his pants on a lot.
  23. There should definitely be an Elvis figure (white jump suit) and Albert Einstein. However, although I really like Lincoln and Shakespeare from the Movie CMFs I prefer the figures to be quite generic (see my rant regarding name badges on CMFs in other threads if you don't believe me!). I'd actually like a wider range of town-friendly folk suitable for summer and winter and a good selection of accessories.
