  1. I actually think this is a bit disappointing. The crown looks pretty tacky and the wedding dress trail looks like poor guy is marrying a pre-2003 Jabba the Hutt custom fig! Also, why is she marrying a magician? I'm hoping the CMF range will bring us a better bride and groom figs. The bride should have a bouquet with all the same coloured flowers (perhaps something not yet already a flower like light blue or a rare purple). The groom should have a less goofy mouth and if he has to wear a hat it should be grey with a black band. Also he shouldn't wear gloves.
  2. Woohoo! Pictures! I must say I am disappointed with the majority of the faces in these series as I really dislike all the ridiculous-looking open mouths showing teeth. Sadly, the genie, skater, highlander, flamenco dancer, leprechaun, bedtime boy, butcher and mechanic all have faces like this. :-( I don't understand why people want so many Roman soldiers - what do they do with them all? I hope these are not hard to find as a result of people hoarding them. It is a great looking figure though and I will buy one for the great face. The pyjamas boy is good but this would have been a great opportunity for a sleeping minifig with eyes shut. The bandit is good, and it is nice to see wild west fans being catered for. The flamenco dancer doesn't quite look right but I like the fact there is one as I like the figs representing nationalities/cultres. The surgeon looks as it should. I agree that Series 7 will probably contain the jungle boy and I hope to see a female face with glasses and closed mouth as well as a guy in a Panama Hat plus some musicians as these are lacking here. For me, Series 6 doesn't have enough city figures but I suppose it's good to have a mix to suit everyone - that's the great thing about the Colelctible Minifigs series. Favourite headgear - Space girl's hair Favourite head - Roman Favourite body - Pyjamas Favourite accessory - tool box or magic lamp Favourite 'concept' - Leprechaun
  3. The lady with a hand fan sounds like it could be the flamenco dancer, which was mentioned on the series 5 list in error on the official site. Green cobold could be a leprechaun or a separate goblin-type creature. I'm disappointed there aren't more figures which fit into the city theme personally but sounds like a good mix we have coming. Sounds like the possible list so far is: Statue of Liberty Alien Leprechaun Space Girl Butcher Minotaur Genie Mechanic Highlander Skater Girl Flamenco Dancer Jungle Boy Roman Soldier (robot? - based on original alien torso pic?) ('green cobold' - if not the leprechaun) + 1 other (no sports figure yet appearing)
  4. I would really like a minifig wearing a Panama Hat, exactly like the white hat from the following picture (Lego Indiana Jones game): http://images.wikia.com/legoindianajones/images/e/e8/TroyDavids.JPG
  5. I hope so. It should be different from the caveman and sounds like a Tarzan character than a stone age person. It would be nice to have another bare torso but hopefully not with bright orange colour like the Series 2 surfer as this was ruined by the overly bright orange lines rather than subtle brown lines. I've been meaning to comment on your designs for some time now, Brickhead. I think it's a pity the Series 6 butcher doesn't look more like your design as I don't like the Lego face or bow tie on the torso. Hopefully they will make your patient, mother, fishmonger, Versailles lady, carpenter, old diver, cyclops, South American, convict, golfer, cricketer and Fu Manchu figures too! I note you haven't expanded on these for some time so it would be great to see more ideas in picture form as they are great (perhaps a little red riding hood, a nun, hairdresser, brass band and hotel bell boy)! The news about the flamenco dancer is also interesting, as I like the figures representing nationalities and still lots of possibilities for more of these. If the robot torso that was on the alien is another Series 6 figure then that leaves only three remaining. I'm guessing one will be a sports figure. I'd love to see a nun and more musicians.
  6. Some nice MOCs there. I like the family by the ostrich enclosure the best. It looks like they are having a great day out! If you have the camel from the Prince of Persia sets you could make more! It's about time they released more animals but in 'City' sets. The elephant was good and maybe a rhino and a hippo which can be taken apart to look like it is wallowing on a blue/water baseplate. I look forward to seeing some more vignettes.
  7. It would be great if Lego tried to vary the colours of things a little. I was thrilled to see the green bike released with the Public Transport set. However, it then came out with the Pet Shop in green too, where a new bike colour would have been great. Little things like this make a set more enticing and worth buying. Hopefully we will see more bikes in different colours next year such as purple, lime green, light blue, grey...(as well as orange and light blue flowers and some of those cylindrical pillars in the latest bank in white...please?).
  8. I'd like to see another passenger train, either something like a Canadian Rockies train (with some trees for scenery and more civilian minifigures like the Metroliner had - preferably new ones not available elsewhere). http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/sundaysun/jun2008/4/9/D3B91D81-AAD8-40D7-A9F691EA18B1BD10.jpg or something Australian like the Ghan or Indian Pacific in Australia (with some kangaroos and a small Outback farm/outpost - this way more non-train collectors would be encouraged to buy the sets) http://stalinsmoustache.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/legendary_ghan1.jpg http://www.australiangeographic.com.au/assets/images/article/journal/7438/indian_pacific_outback.jpg (sorry not able to link the pictures correctly)
  9. I just want an official plain red t-shirt with the Lego logo.
  10. I'd create your own, that way all buildings will be made in 'your own style' rather than the Lego design team's. Also you don't necessarily need to have lots of city sets, just use parts from the Star Wars sets you have. However, modular sets are useful in terms of getting decent parts. Good luck whatever you decide!
  11. This makes me realise how disappointed I am that the 2012 girls theme is not a minifig-scale Paradisa! I remember getting the catalogue when Paradisa first came out (no Internet back then to see all the sets long before release date!). I remember how exciting it was seeing the holiday town and I was eager to create beach scenes of my own. I guess I loved holidays as a kid, my Dad used to work extra hours to take us away each summer to the Med and holidays were always happy times on the beach and playing in the pool. I like the catalogue picture setting the Paradisa scene - lots of people enjoying themselves and having fun. This to me is important - these were some of the most fun sets I remember and didn't require any conflict-based characters or the idea of good vs evil or the usual high propane action kids apparently 'need' from a toy. Just good clean fun. I am definitely going to get some of these for my niece when she is old enough to play - but hopefully by then Paradisa will return!
  12. I think these are the real deal as they don't look like customs and I cannot imagine the statue of liberty being used in a normal set so must likely part of the CMF series. I hope others will be leaked gradually as it's quite exciting finding out what is coming figure by figure to add suspense rather than seeing them all in one go. As it happens I only buy the figures I like due to budgeting reasons so don't really see any use for the Statue of Liberty and I'm not that into space stuff (alien) but nice to hear something about Series 6. One of the great things about the CMF series is that there is usually something that will appeal and some new parts which will be useful for my town. Hopefully we will hear more soon though not all at once!
  13. Hopefully 2012 will be a great year for Lego City as it's unlikely there will be any fire and police sets. Rumours of the hospital line don't surprise me and hopefully ths will look good and contain plenty of civilian figures needing medical attention. I am really hoping that there will be some sort of zoo line or wildlife. Seems a shame for Lego not to use the camel and ostrich from Prince of Persia. I've always wanted a Lego hippo too, which can be taken apart for the top of the head and body to appear as if wallowing in water. I am sure there will be more collectible Minifigures. I'm enjoying the specialist parts for sports equipment so hopefully these will continue to appear with more musical instruments too. I was pleased the Pharoah's Quest theme signalled a new Adventurers style line so hopefully something to add to these sets would be good, although hopefully more in line with the original Johnny Thunder theme. The rumours of the 'girls' theme' are interesting too. I hope this is like Paradisa or at the very least, minifig compatible without overdosing on pink! I don't really care for licensed themes much. The only one that might interest me is a Thunderbirds theme but it would probably be made with fleshies in which case I wouldn't bother but I expect the usual licenses will continue.
  14. Great MOC shmails! I don't really watch films but I love all the Blues Brothers music and the figures are pretty iconic and look great in minifigure form! Looking forward to seeing other classic film scenes and more of your work. Time for me to go and download some Blues Brothers tracks from i-tunes!
  15. I'd like to see more sets showing the interior of a hospital - perhaps various sets which are compatible to form larger hospital sets from a range of smaller sets. E.g. an operating theatre, recovery ward, reception area, cafeteria, maternity wing?... I really hope there will be a mould for a manual wheelchair in a grey colour, where a minifigure can be seated and pushed along by another. It would be great to have a lot of NEW civilian figures (poorly looking patients and visiting family) and specific figures for doctors, nurses, surgeons, paramedics, rather than just the 'standard Lego medic torso' for anybody medical looking. I'm willing to bet we will just get the usual though - 1 big hospital set with big windows and no interior, an ambulance and a medic in an odd-looking car.
  16. I agree with this comment. I was excited when I heard there were musicians in this set but the saxophone does look pretty awful. Annoying really as I'm sure if it was a licensed theme there would be a better mould and would probably be metallic and more realistic. Hopefully we'll get a better one in the collectible minifigures range. Other than that, the post office looks ok, though nothing I couldn't build myself by assembling existing parts together (i.e no real unique must-have parts) and I'm not sure who designs the minifigs but nothing original there either and what's with the green hood stuck on a blue/grey torso? These figures need a fashion stylist! I doubt I will bother buying this set - it's nice but will probably be too expensive and not within my Lego budget or worth going over budget for. The winter theme is a great concept though.
  17. Gender:Male Occupation/print on torso: UN Peacekeeper (a possible method of creating a much-requested 'soldier' figure from a neutral and 'anti-war' perspective) Type of headgear: Light blue Helmet with UN initials like this http://74.54.19.227/news/103/10306454.optim.jpg Type of facial expression: Serious Color on torso/legs: Camouflage print Accessory: Rifle and light blue bib for torso Gender: Male or Female Occupation/print on torso: Olympic Torch carrier (released in series just before 2012 Olympics) Type of headgear: An existing hair mould in a colour in which it is currently unavailable Type of facial expression: Fatigued but proud Color on torso/legs: White with Olympic Rings (no year printed to enable use for past and future MOCs) Accessory: Olympic torch (gold-coloured telescope with trans-orange flame piece) Gender: 1 Male, 1 Female Occupation/print on torso: 2 more Zookeepers (similar to Series 5 with monkey but with other animal to continue the 'sub-theme') Type of headgear: Tan cap or hair Type of facial expression: Happy/Friendly Color on torso/legs: Similar to Series 5 zookeeper or with tan overalls. 18. The original posts suggests that the Series 6 figures are already finalised. Any idea when these are most likely to be unveiled (or leaked)?
  19. I am pleased to hear that the collectible minifigures will continue until at least series 8. The thread in the other Eurobricks forum is full of great ideas, of which many I'm sure will come to fruition, seeing as many previous suggestions have already appeared. One of the great thing about the series is the fact that we can obtain accessories and outfits that wouldn't otherwise appear in the main sets. There is also usually something for everyone, whether you like sci-fi, historical sets, sports or fantasy/horror themes. Personally, I'm hoping there will be more musical instruments in future series, and the figures that represent national stereotypes/icons are also great.
  20. 1. Coldstream Guard - although the hat looks a little too bulky, this is a good figure. Buckingham Palace MOC anyone? 2. Inuit - I thought this would appear at some point. Lego obviously have an excess of fishing rods at the moment! Like the British guard, the oriental figures and the Mexican, it's nice having figures relating to other cultures. I can see a Canadian Mountie in future and hopefully an Uncle Sam! Also, some Bavarian figures like an Alpine goatherd, a Swiss milkmaid or one of those very long musical horns! 3. Boxer - I like this figure and hope he will soon have a blue counterpart. 4. Fitness Instructor - as people have pointed out, this is far too much like the pop star, which makes me think it's not the final figure. Could do with a change of hair and a less goofy face (not teeth showing). 5. Gladiator - I think this will be popular based on comments. Cannot see the face very well but probably not a figure I will buy. 6. Mobster - This will also be very popular. I love the violin case! Would be nice to have more figures with actual musical instruments though. 7. Snowboarder - I like variations of previous figures though slightly disappointed this wasn't a female skier (I need more skis!) 8. Dwarf - Would have been far more popular if these had not been previously released, like the elf but a good figure and I'm always after new stubby legs! 9. Zoo Keeper - A good opportunity for another female figure and the monkey is a nice touch. Still hoping for the Lego Safari sets to appear as part of the 'City' line! Will definitely try to find this one. 10. Clown - I'm hoping the bowler hat will be released in black. I like the circus themed figures as I was always envious of the Duplo clowns! Green stubby legs will be handy too. 11. Detective - A pity we cannot fully see the face here but it looks like it will be good as it doesn't have the strange mouth. Will be popular for Victoria MOCs and Steampunk. 12. Axeman - not sure if this is supposed to be a lumberjack but a bit disappointed. was hoping for a chainsaw, checked shirt and hard hat. 13. Cavewoman - definitely Pebbles from the Flintstones! Nice to see the cave people family growing! Good use of the new bone/ 14. Godzilla - a bit of an odd figure but seems to be popular. Not sure I'll try to get it myself unless the face underneath is good. 15. Graduate - The graduate hat is one of the best new moulds in this series, along with the violin case. This would have been a good opportunity to have a female figure with glasses and lipstick but perhaps we'll get another in future. 16. Cleopatra - Surprised the Spalko hair was not used but good to see a historical figure made (the asp suggests it is definitely Cleopatra!). I'd like to see Lincoln and Elvis lookalikes in future series!
  21. I'm glad the boxer has decent gloves on. Lego did a great job with those! The helmet is a nice touch too but having another matching figure in future with a blue one so they can compete would be cool. The Royal Guard is most welcome as well. I have been hoping for these since they had pictures of them promoting Legoland Windsor being opened in the early 90s though the hat looks slightly too tall. The mini-clown looks odd but I'm hoping the bowler hat gets realeased in black too for an old English city gent in pinstripe suit or a Charlie Chaplin figure! The Cleopatra figure does look a bit like a drag queen - I would have thought the Irina Spalko hair would have been a better bet for the hairpiece. Cavewoman and Sherlock look good but don't really get the Godzilla one. Looking forward to seeing the remaining 7 figures though. Hopefully Lego will start to introduce more muscial instruments and I would imagine Series 5 will have another sports person. I'm hoping for some more everyday City-compatible figs too!
  22. What is frustrating is having so many different styles, especially in faces. I like variation so that different minifigures are not all identical (e.g, some female, some with glasses, some with facial hair, etc, some smiling). I really don't like the figures that show teeth and there are those old Racers faces with the crazy expression or scared faces, which I really dislike (also overused in MOCSs). I don't think printing on the back is necessary and I dislike it when people mix and match styles, especially with classic and licensed lines. Also, even Lego releases odd looking figures such as ginger eyebrows with black hair - it looks rubbish. Lego should stick with the current level of style and details we have in City sets now but just give us more variation of figures to choose from but keep them all in the same style (and no teeth showing!).
  23. Gender: M Occupation: NEW Santa Claus Face: Similar to Gnome Hairpiece: NEW Father Christmas Hat (we need a new proper Santa hat to replace the old pirate one!) Torso: Red with Belt and Bulging Belly Legs: Red with printed black boots Accessories: Beard + sack/gift? Gender: F Occupation: Alpine Goatherd Face: Female Hairpiece: Blonde Pigtails Torso: Alpine Blue Dress Legs: Matching Accessories: Dark Tan Goat! Gender: M Occupation: Man with Broken Leg Face: In discomfort Hairpiece: An existing male hair piece in a colour it isn't yet available in. Torso: Light Blue Shirt Legs: Navy with printed plaster cast Accessories: Crutches! Gender: F Occupation: Hairdresser Face: Friendly Female Face with blonde eyebrows (no teeth showing please) Hairpiece: Blonde Wavy Torso: Fashionable with Necklace Legs: White Accessories: Hair dryer and Comb Gender: F Occupation: Librarian Face: Glasses and Grey Eyebrows - (no teeth showing please) Hairpiece: Bob like Series 3 Sumo Wrestler in Light Grey Torso: Mauve Twin Set Legs: Matching Accessories: Book Gender: F Occupation: Florist Face: Female (no teeth showing please) Hairpiece: Brown Irina Spalko Torso: Dungarees in new colour Legs: Matching Accessories: Flowers in orange or light blue colour
  24. I thought somebody would be quick to point out that there were a few 'civilians' in the Minifig Series sets. However, not that many of these are actually 'every day' folk you'd see walking around town and plus you only get one figure at a time, which becomes very expensive, especially as you can't guarantee which one you will get (even using the old barcode trick I still have bought a few I don't want). I'm not knocking some of the decent figures we have got from the series, as the nurse, skateboarder and tennis player are great but I just wish you could buy a bulk pack of unique figs at a reasonable price, which can be mixed and matched into a normal city environment without them having to represent a specific role.
  25. It's Lego not Legos
