  1. Welcome to the forums!
  2. Very nice and sleek diamond shape body!
  3. Hi Wolf, As i said in your introduction post, nice to see you here! Hope you will have great time building for the contest. Regarding your questions: 1. If you do not want to create WIP topic of your crane, you don't have to., If you do, please wait until 2 weeks pass, from the start of this contest (7th of September). Important thing is, that you post your finished work in the Entry topic. That way you are officially entering the contest. 2. There is no general opinion regarding looks of the models. Somebody like it open, so all the gizmos can be seen, some like it covered with panels, and someones (me ) like when all is covered with bricks and plates and tiles. Choice is yours, so do as you like and have fun!
  4. It is the product of a discussion from Generic Contest Discussion here. Precisely, to prevent opening WIP topics with just one line saying: "I will build XYZ", or just to reserve the idea, and also, it adds a bit of mystery to the contest in a first couple of weeks. :) If it is identical, it just means that you are sure that is a good solution, unique to you. It is ok, as we have discussed it here before. Only one cabin? :)
  5. Hey Doug, Yes, dont worry about your topic, it was created before we come to an agreement about 2 weeks rule. But it would be fair to the others if you do not post updates for approx one more week. Once the model is finished, you do need to create the post in the Entry topic, with the required info, pictures, video etc...
  6. Hey Kenny, welcome! So nice that you can share your hobby and time with your great grandson!
  7. Hi Wolf. Welcome to the forums! I am glad that TC8 pulled you to sign in! If you have any question about it, pleae post it in TC8 information topic, or send me a PM. Enjoy the contest!
  8. Welcome, technic fan! See ya and your new creation on the Technic forum!
  9. Cute and refreshing from regular tanks :)
  10. Sure, just hold on with posting wip topic or links on EB before two weeks pass.
  11. It does not need to be a modern design, nor it does need to have a proof. In fact, it can be equally interesting too see older cranes that uses cables and lattice booms instead of hydraulics and today's slick designs. I was just waiting if someone will try that design :) I think there will be maybe even two or more entries based on this concept. Sure, it is allowed by all means. Well, it can be almost any kind of crane that hoists, even concept models are fine to some extend, but lets keep it as much close to the models we see on the construction sites as we can. As we stated before, lets not get carried away too much into the unknown.
  12. Some freedom is certainly allowed, but as we noted before, try to stay within known types of cranes.. What exactly you have in mind?
  13. Nice work on the video! And nice little model!
  14. One of the best construction m-related videos. Great scenery and of course, awesome models. Always nice to see that Liebherr. Other models are equally nice, too.
  15. Welcome to the forums!
  16. Two updates of the main Information post, please follow them when and if you create your WIP topics: WIP topics may be created 2 weeks after the beginning of the contest WIP topics should contain actual plan or progress presented, and should not be used as a "Idea reservation"
  17. If i remember corectly, Zblj borrowed 4 of them some time ago, and since then returned them.
  18. I also loved both sets of rules. One had strict limits, others had more open aproach. Each has its pro and con. But most importantly, i had great time in each of them.
  19. Sounds like the beggining of Bram Stoker's Dracula.
  20. I have 15+ of them in the same color, both in use and in never-used condition, and none of them cracked. In fact, none of my 40+ 24gears ever cracked, not even the ones that are almost two decades old.
  21. I am also for the plan that you minimize Lego activity (not cancel it, just minimize it) and enjoy your vacation, and take a lots of pictures, especially in the RV part of the trip!
  22. Did you consider putting larger tires? I think it would look even more awesome with them.
