  1. It looks great! @keymaker Thanks for the nice model and free instructions! Really nice from you!
  2. Hey guys, Recently we have had a lot of new topics and replies that have oversized images, from both new and long term members. Subsequently, we have had a lot of reports from members, who presumably, have slowdowns. We want to remind all of the members that the max allowed size for an image is still 1024x768: The staff would clog topics, if they quoted the rules in each of them that has oversized images, so we will remind only the new users. Long time members may receive a profile warning, that expires in a day or two, or their oversized picturess may be removed from the post. Of course, we all sometimes post something in a hurry or over the phone, so permanent warnings will be issued only after several reminders and after repeated postings of the oversized images. If you have large photos that need to show something in details, you can always post one or more photos in allowed size, and other giant photos as a link(s). Let's all try to be more careful about this, as we always were, and think also about our members who may have slower or limited connection, as this affects them most. As always, you can send me or any staff member a PM if you need any help with the images. Thanks all, and have fun
  3. @Isaac Yaw Please resize your pictures to the forum's allowed size. They are 5 times the allowed size. Thanks.
  4. It was a directly posted full size image, much larger than the max allowed size.
  5. It is the very same truck, BUT the owner changed the whole set of the front tires, and just wanted to show the difference. Once he was done, the truck had both fat tires on the front axle
  6. (Sorry if you did not ask about the tires itself, but just asked why he did not used a different type of tires ) Some of the heavier US trucks use those fat tires at the front, known as Super Singles. Sometimes they are mounted at the back axles, too, as singles.
  7. Nice! Especially the reach stalker! Love how you did the colors.
  8. I removed your oversized image, didn't leave the signature as I usually do. It is always more practical and polite to just acknowledge that you posted an oversize image, resize it, reupload it, and move on, than to post a snarky comment on how you need to appease whoever decided removing it was a good idea. You only need to appease the site rules, the one you agreed to upon registering. Besides the rules, not everyone has high speed internet, so you can post max allowed size here (1024), and then leave a link to the version you want (even, as you say, a version you can actually see). Thanks.
  9. Please reduce the size of the images. They are 4x the max allowed size. I don't know what is going on lately, but we have had many topics with oversized images. Please all, take care of that, not everyone has unlimited or high speed Internet.
  10. I was speaking generally about the topic. Not to confront Lipko, of course.
  11. I wouldn't say it exactly like that. They have been staying in business for quite some time, so I would say they know what they are doing. They have had several very bad moments, and were almost near bankrupt. We, who have been into Lego for 20+ years do not keep our mouths shut, as seen in various topics here, both regarding parts and sets. Their long term business plan is to survive and make a profit. That means they do have to please the general buyers first, who don't know, understand, or even care about new parts, or could the dozer have had two more LAs in the ripper. Sometimes it seems as we believe that we are entitled for every new part of a set that has every X and Y we want. Being a long-time member of a highly specialized Technic forum, and being a great builder as you are, can only enhance that feel. But in reality, we (fans that visit a highly specialized Tehnic forum) are just a tiny, tiny part of their consumer base. Really tiny. Even most of the whole Technic consumer base doesn't really know, understand, or even care about new parts. Just look at one of the biggest Technic FB pages (170.000+ members). Most of the people there ask very basic questions, do now know about machines, mechanisms or cars in detail as most of use do, but that does not stop them from enjoying the hobby. And they are the majority of Technic consumer base. Again, we here are just a tiny part of the whole. And that's why I said that I believe we do get enough new stuff and attention from TLG, given how really small we are.
  12. Yep. I am glad that it is that way. They have their ways and their politics, they make a profit. They continue to exist and to grow. We get some new parts each year. We have a challenge to make a MOC works by using what we have. We complain a lot, but we do get some (or most) of the models and parts we ask, not in the exact shape or form as we asked, but usable. And we get them regularly. Given the fact they are indeed a toy manufacturer, I am happy with all the aforementioned.
  13. It seems it is one of your most extensive reviews so far, and that says something. Love the photos, especially the first one. Have yet to decide whether I like the blue or gray more, probably the latter Nice to hear some praise for this set, too
  14. Now when we have a video, we can frontpage it!
  15. Nice update. Glad to see the new progress Love all the brick built sections, given the size, it is possible to put a nice amount of details and realistic proportions. Will follow this. Please reduce your image size (max is 1024).
  16. Lego is for whatever you want to do with it. Some like to keep it in NRFB, some like to build MOCs, some like to keep them on shelf, some like to throw them from a building and record it, some use glue, paint etc... We all share the same hobby, and I think it is best to just let the people do what they want with their Lego And we can all get back to CAT.
  17. @piterx Best so far! Love the symmetrical look and clean lines. Just make sure to reuplaod the images to allowed size (max is 1024).
  18. Agreed. Great nostalgia kick, with all the modern parts and smooth look. Indeed good work, Tenderlok!
  19. Thanks for this. Your appreciation is one of our goals, and I am glad that SMF models get (even a bit) more attention. So far it looks like it works. Since the merge, we could have seen your model as one example, and @Tarix819 military models as other example where it worked greatly. His models had, at average, 6 replies per models in SMF, while his latest one, the Bateman, posted in the merged forum, had 20 replies. Quite nice, I would say I may split and move these observations to the SMF topic in order to keep your truck topic clean.
  20. I understand. Please read the site guidelines again, and ask in the "Forum information and help" if there is something unclear.
  21. @efgen86 As per guidelines you agreed to, do not quote images from the same page, please.
  22. I hope no one will object with frontpaging this
