  1. Cos the wheels would require more room to steer. That perfect arch around the tire would have to be bigger and longer, and it would ruin the look.
  2. I would say it is the opposite. This is very fine model, with great technical solutions.
  3. I will use tiles. They are regular parts and they look great. Thats what i imagine modelteam would look today.
  4. Rules state any original lego part can be used, that includes LAs, gears and axles. Rules state one or more functions. Quoting Jim: ....Set must have at least one, preferably more, functions. ....Only OFFICIAL LEGO parts. ModelTeam had gears that operated steering in few models. In my entry model I am using basic gears and axles, no fancy techniques, just to accommodate few functions, like stated in the rules.
  5. Yes, I have basic chassis since our last communication here, but I got a new apartment I had to move, so it is still a chassis. In a few days I am starting with MT contest. But this crane will be done.
  6. Their power depends on the motor and gear reduction you attach to them. Their internal clutch is the limit in delivering that power. Big LA has limit for about 3.5 kg and 5 kg, depending on the version. Small LA has limit for about 0.9 kg.
  7. Tracks are light bluish gray, same as rest of the body.
  8. Not trying to be funny or something, but maybe you could make a stand for the plane, and mount the plane so it kinda fly rotated by 90 degrees. That way you could make wings as wide (tall) as you like.
  9. Maybe, to match the wheels. But, check his others tracked vehicles...he has a lots of gray bricks! I think this color of the tracks are perfect, since he could use all that gray parts for the body of the halftrack.
  10. I would say, use the original idea and start from scratch. You will have much more control and room for ideas that way. Also, use studded chassis for the tractor, trust me!
  11. I like discussions like this one! I was about to write similar post as Erik did, and use the same 1:90 scale argument as he did, but he stayed awaken longer than me, and beat me to it :) As I said earlier, original rules 45x15 are perfect-challenge wise, both for us who build vehicles, and for those who create vessels. Bottom line: its great to have guys on this forum who fight for what they believe, and also to have a guy onboard who fight for the all the members here to be pleased, not an easy task for sure. Looking forward to all the entries!
  12. Copy and paste form first page...:) What about small short Gif as a supplement for presentation of the model, basically showing functions in just a few seconds? Besides video and pictures.
  13. With MT style of building, you really need more parts to make something. Much different than studless Technic. To me, rules posted by Jim are perfect.
  14. Current voting is 6:0 against digital entries, in Future contest topic :) But...since we all want more entries, and since that voting topic is general...AND since we are all aware that not all the guys here have massive collection of old system bricks, I could remove my objection, and we could all start building :)
  15. I am against it. Just don't think it is a good idea to mix digital and real-bricks entries. Building with real bricks has all the challenges (strength of the chassis-model, working functions, openable sections, taking good photos...), which can be avoided in digital entry. It is better to make another contest just with digital entries, I know how many people here like to build (and how awesome they build) in digital way
  16. There is a rule in the first post which says yes, you can make rear view mirrors, they aren't counted as width :)
  17. Biggest reason, for me, is that it is very awkward to build in uneven width with modelteam style. 16 studs wide would be perfect. Great to have new contest, especially MT!
  18. It would be great if you could move the visual center of weight further back. Otherwise, great entry.
  19. Welcome and have fun collecting minifigures!
  20. Thanks! :) I hope you will get many nice (and affordable) set!
  21. Welcome! Thats a nice skill, actually!
  22. Welcome!
