  1. Brilliant. This scene was when I truly knew I loved Hitchhiker's Guide.
  2. I'm in full agreement here. It certainly evokes Adventurers, but even more than that it seems like a cunning parody of it at the same time. Certainly Johnny Thunder was never this bumbling.
  3. Thanks for the feedback. It was great fun playing and I'm glad I was able to reach an approvable level of participation. Mafia's one of those things where I really don't budget my time responsibly. You're definitely right about the tunnel-vision. I got way too focused on what I perceived to be a sort of arrogance from def/Helena, and that really got me going. I didn't think about anything else after that, and it really came back to bite me in the megablocks. The Coroner thing was very odd. Part of the problem might have been that I had never encountered such a role in the past, so I had to research it when I received my PM, but even then I don't believe I fully understood the concept. It might have been a problem on your end, it might have been a problem on mine, but I don't think I'll want that role again.

  5. Great game, Hinck. The comics were a joy to read and all the pretty daisy-style Harry Potter puns were just great. It's a shame Town dropped the ball as hard as it did, but that's just evidence of a well-rounded, manipulative scum team. Well done, you rotten bastards! Looking back on some of the screaming that went on Day Four, I can say a 24-hour cooling off period would not have been unjustified. I'm certainly not proud of some of my behaviour. Perhaps we should rename that thread the "Harriet Slutter Guide on How Not to Play Town." Question is, what happens now to our furry alter ego accounts? Would you believe I've grown rather fond of Nicholas Dickory?
  6. Wow. On my best days I don't have the attention span to cover half a baseplate.
  7. Good to know you're still working, KDog. I was about ready to send out a search party. *into walkie-talkie* False alarm, boys! You can all go home now!
  8. How big is this bloody thing, anyway?
  9. This was the MoS set I was least anticipating, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. The dropship (or escape pod or whatever it is) is very cute and swooshable, the minifigs are excellent (even Lois is good, surprisingly enough), and the base... well, it's not half bad either. Yeah, it's a bit plain, but the sliding door is a nice touch and I like how they've used ladder pieces to make the catwalk. For me, the biggest draw is perhaps Zod, and seeing as this is the cheapest way to get him in his armour, I say go for it. I'm actually having trouble deciding whether he looks cooler with it or without.
  10. The following statement is true. The previous statement is false.

  11. This deserves to be [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  12. Unfortunately I had to spend the last day-and-a-half cramming for a history exam. I barely had time to check in, let alone post anything. Perhaps I should have sat this one out, but I didn't know I'd be this busy and it was pretty fun playing scum for the first time. Things were going well until we learned that BoyWonder was the only recruiter left. After that revelation and the lynching of our dear Hinckley, we more or less went into crisis management mode. Still, a fun game all around! It was frustratingly exciting trying to unite with the recruiters. Part of me kind of wants to see that game mechanic again.
  13. 1. Isla Paradisa, Gotham, Yakuza, Ragnarok, The Pearl, EB Mafia I and II, this (hopefully ) 2. I'm done my exams in less than two weeks, so pretty good for the majority 3. Yep. 4. Either Zepher the werewolf on Day One of Cock Slut Applesauce Mafia or Bob's magical changing defence on Day Eight of Yakuza Family. 5. Their lynch vote is one of the most powerful weapons at the town's disposal. 6. How crazy we talkin'?
  14. I'm disappointed in the sheepish behaviour this town is demonstrating. I've had no reason to target anybody. Hell, I've had no option to target anybody. I have no night action whatsoever. I'm a vanilla who's been stuck in the dark this whole time. If you lynch me, you let the scum killer go free, and you'll reduce the numbers to 2 vs. 2. If I had a say in this (which I apparently don't ) I wouldn't want to risk those odds. Don't blow this, town!
  15. I've already explained my vote, I think. Vote: Li'l Nightshroud (Nightshroud99)
  16. It's unfortunate we lost Dave, but I can't say I'm surprised. He painted a rather large target on his back at the end of yesterday and I can definitely see where a scum might have wanted to get rid of him. I tried to reach out to Scouty on Day Two, but he more or less gave me the brush off. Other than that, I unfortunately haven't been as active as I'd like, with real life school taking time away from mafia school. And it's funny you should say I've not been doing much. You started this game with a fair to middling amount of activity, but have slowly become quieter and quieter as time goes on. What happened? Conversion got your tongue? I already said this yesterday, but I'm also still suspicious of your attempt to sway the vote. At the time, the case against BoyWonder was 99% likely, while the case against Walter (if there was one) was the same as for any of us: 50%-50%. A known converter is more dangerous than a possible killer (I think I'm not the first to say this) but you were quite insistent that we get rid of Walter, who we weren't even sure was scum. It was a case against a less plausible target, based on flawed math, for no other reason than to give BoyWonder another day to do his dirty work.
  17. Whaaaa? You mean it was all a joke?! I'm shocked, absolutely and utterly shocked! I was all geared up to exchange my Canadian flag for an American one, start drinking weaker beer, buy a roomful of guns, and submit to our new Yankee overlords. Nah, I'm kidding. As soon as I saw the Ameribricks announcement I started laughing my head off. Thank you Shadows and everyone else, that was the greatest joy this site has brought me in a while!
  18. As I said, Nightshroud is moving closer to the top of my list. I've already outlined why I feel uneasy about him, and yesterday I was actually all geared up to cast my vote for him when the case against Hinckley came to light. But if nothing comes up tomorrow, yeah, I'm looking at him.
  19. I should have done this a couple days ago. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  20. The case for TBW is strong, but when he turns up scum, I'll know who to look at tomorrow... (Ahem, that means you, Li'l Nightshroud.) Vote: Li'l BoyWonder
  21. *Almost certain TBW's scum, votes Walter* Nightshroud has repeatedly called out TBW in the past few days with some valid suspicions, and, as Li'l Kiel has pointed out, it is suspect that he should want to split the vote like this. We have a decent case against TBW, as Nightshroud himself plainly admits, much like he admits Walter might be town, and yet he votes for the latter of the two. This flies in the face of everything else Nightshroud says and it really strikes me as odd. I don't know if Nightshroud is scum or not, and a small part of me wonders if TBW might not be, but nothing about Walter has so far pinged for me. I don't want to rob the most-likely-scummy TBW of a vote, but at the same time it seems like attention must be paid to Nightshroud, so I'll hold my vote for now.
