  1. Penelope, you said that "if we're trusting Terrence we can assume he's not scum." That assumption implies at least some level of belief and/or trust in him. You then elected to take him off the list of potential scum. If there wasn't some part of you that believed in him, then I honestly don't see why you would have done that. I also can't understand why - if you had some faith in him, which I think I've shown you did - you would suggest lynching Terrence as a valid option. Which is it? Ah, and now you're trying to back away from the incriminating statement after you've been called on it. What's that called, boys and girls? That's right! Flip-flopping! And it's a scumtell. Ah, Peter, you're alive! Good, I was starting to worry. It's nice to see the third scummiest guy around sticking up for the current front-runner (in my book). Good scum stick together, folks! And I was prepared to follow the "hard evidence", but that was before Penelope tried to steer us in the other direction. Given the choice between you and Kristina, I'm not totally sure one way or the other, but given the choice between Penelope and Penelope, the decision is obvious.
  2. How? She pretty much rejected the only shred of evidence we've had so far. Plus, she's willing to lynch Terrence and trust that he's not scum at the same time. I'm sorry, but that's not a townie mindset. Where am I overreacting? Or are you the only one who's allowed to call people scum based on one statement? On a semi-related note, where exactly has Penelope gone? She was here just a short time before I called her out, but then she vanished.
  3. I really hate to split the vote here, but what Penelope said is really pinging me. Vote: Penelope Talbott (Palathadric) I'm not sure I understand, Bernard. What about my accusation seems "forced" to you?
  4. Well, if that isn't the scummiest thing I've heard all night. Thing is, Penelope, we know there's a scum in the group of five, and a little bit of detective work can tell us who they are. At this rate, the scum could very easily win with just one or two more mislynches. We know one of the suspects the hippy gave us is scum. That's hard evidence, and it's more than we've had this whole time. Are you suggesting we ignore that evidence and continue to stumble blindly? So wait, you're assuming Terrence isn't scum, but are perfectly willing to lynch him? On what planet is that considered rational? Well, I'm pretty inclined to believe Colin is town, due to his claim. I believe Terrence is town, given his story about the hippy which has been backed up by a couple people, and I know for a fact I'm town. I think that leaves you as the most likely choice. Candy's a close second, and I don't know one way or the other about Priscilla. When's voting start? 'Cause I know where mine's going.
  5. Give me some time. Sometimes you just gotta sit back and think, y'know? (I'm not kiddin'. It must've taken me at least a half-hour to doublecheck the facts and collect my thoughts here.) For instance, I notice that Kristina's been pretty consistently at the back end of the lynches, while Candy and Peter have been hovering around the middle a lot. Night Two, both voted for me, which I think somebody (can't remember who at this point) suggested might be an attempt to split the vote and keep us stuck where we were. Night Three, both vote for Working-Like-A-Doğ. Both times, their votes came pretty well in the middle, and relatively close to one another. Is this true, Kristina? Is everyone you've contacted dead? That would be a highly convenient cop-out for a scum: "Oh, I was talking to people and they were helping me, but they died before we could get results. Dum de doo." Looking at the list the hippy gave Terrence, it seems we have four potential scum: Kristina, Bernard, Peter, and Cebastiane. As far as I can remember, nothing that Cebastiane has said or done strikes me as particularly scummy. I think I'd be comfortable dropping him from the list. That leaves three. We have the looked-useful-but-turned-out-not-to-be Kristina, the extremely loud and foul-tempered old coot Bernard, and the fly-by-night Peter. For someone with such a useful role, Kristina sure has turned out to be a dead-end, and I have to wonder if she's not willfully withholding info (or lack thereof) specifically so she can buy herself some time to get out of the hole she's dug. We've all been leaning on her pretty heavily these last couple day-nights, hoping she can find us something to work with, and now it turns out she's uncovered less than bupkis. And are we to understand all her contacts are dead? If they are, that's mi-high-highty convenient for her. Bernard's being more helpful than I initially gave him credit for, and thus I'm less inclined to call him scum. Although this does still catch my eye: What changed, old man? Well, that's... sporting. Exactly how many people targeted Patricia in the first place? I'm eager to hear the results of this action. Peter is more difficult to analyse, seeing as he hasn't said much of anything... at all, really. He's spent much of the game... of life in that sweet spot just between quiet and active. We all know this is where the best scum like to hide out, and I'm inclined to think that's what he's doing. His behaviour is difficult to pin down because there hasn't been enough of it to make a case, but maybe that's how he likes it. Right now, I'd nominate Peter and Kristina as the two most likely scum out of the list provided by the dirty hippy, but I'll wait too see what the NA results have to say. Yes, please, Kristina! Next time you say something, make sure you actually say something.
  6. I've recently been rereading my Showcase Presents: Batman books just for the hell of it, and I have to ask: are there any Silver Age fans around here? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely prefer the tortured avenger crying out for Mommy and Daddy interpretation, and I think the Nolan films are the highest watermark of Bat-filmmaking, but goddamn if there isn't something just so great about the campy over-the-top nature of the Silver Age. Anyone with me? Any fans of Batman '66? Batman: The Brave and the Bold?
  7. I doubt results have come in yet. If Bernard knows anything, he probably won't be able to tell us until tonight. However, we should at least get a clear answer, since there appears to be some confusion... Since there's no harm in asking, let's ask: Bernard, did you or did you not watch Patricia?
  8. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  9. Well, that's one birthday he won't forget any time soon! The scale is impressive and the detailing is very good! Your son is a lucky boy, and he has a truly amazing father.
  10. I'd say Candy. Oh, sure, she's actually spoken, but has she truly said anything? I doubt the scum would just give up on one of their own like that. Maybe she's third-party and thus has no-one to coach her?
  11. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  12. Christ, I keep expecting the hippy to say, "THERE WAS A FIREFIGHT!"
  13. You really gotta start payin' attention more, Bernard. It seems you're about a day behind the rest of us on some pretty important stuff. As Colin said at the end of the night, this is the whole reason we put Downward-Doğ on the chopping block in the first place. Him knowing about Shane when he probably shouldn't have is something that Kristina brought to our attention... when? Day Three, was it, Kristina? Jeez, welcome to the party. Once Shane flipped town, pretty much all of us decided that Person A would have to be in scummy cahoots with Doğ (I ran outta puns, a'ight?) for him to have the info he did. If you look, you'll find that's pretty much my entire reasoning for putting Person A on my list of suspects. See? I don't know if you're short on time, trying to keep track of all those split personalities of yours, but when you can, I would recommend reviewing all the stuff you missed when you were Batman's sidekick.
  14. Yeah, I'm lookin' but I ain't seein' it. I must be gettin' too distracted by my amazing outfit. (That hack tailor could never design somethin' this chic!) If you're referring to the post where he originally listed his suspicions, I been up and down that thing time and time again and I'm still not sure what got you a-pingin' in the first place. Clearly, I am missing some great and obvious truth here, so please explain, O Wise One.
  15. It's how aggressive you're being. As if you're actively trying to appear town in order to hide something. And when I say "his list", I am referring to Colin's. He posted his list and your response was something to the tune of, "Welp, you're obviously scum. Might as well make sure everybody knows it." In that initial response you offered no justification for why you were suddenly accusing Colin. There was no attempt at analysis, no questioning of his methods or words, no attempt to suss things out with Colin and examine his response, just an automatic knee-jerk accusation. Since then, you have still only really repeated the one point that Colin is scum without offering much justification at all. Oh, and then there was some stuff about your colon, but I'd rather not look into that. (As the actress said to the bishop.) So, now you know why I am suspicious of you, would you care to let me know why you're suspicious of him?
  16. What changed, Rolfe?..... .... Or are we witnessing a bussing? My first post was made in the heat of the moment. Shane flipping town caught me a bit off-guard and I wasn't quite sure what to think. Thus, why I wondered aloud if we were sure Admiral Akbulut was scum. However, after rereading the threads and giving it a bit more thought, I came to the conclusion that him being scum was the outcome that simply made the most sense when compared against the testimony we've been given. Ummmmm... no. When we're in a position where we haven't even got a single scum (hopefully subject to change very soon), then doing something like this would only help the scum, as they'd be pretty much free to choose who to pick off during the day. If we even have a protector, he can only protect so many people. I'm actually starting to ponder if I should move Peter out of the third spot on my list and instead give it to Bernard. He's only been possessed by this weird Sith-hobbit creature for a day but already he's been going into overdrive. He's swiftly become an extremely aggressive player, and it almost seems to me like he's overcompensating. He pretty much jumped down Candy and Cebastiane's throats for not immediately responding to his request for suspect lists the minute he asked. He's been on Colin's back for a good chunk of the day because... why exactly? His list of suspects? Yeah, Colin didn't justify his suspicions too well but it doesn't automatically strike me as scummy. Sheepish, sure, but not really scummy. Bernard still seems to agree with the general consensus that All-Doğs-Go-to-Heaven is scum, but he's voting for Colin based on what I would argue is some flimsy evidence. Is he protecting a scummy teammate? And of course his suggestion that the PRs just blatantly reveal themselves to everyone. This is not only a monumentally stupid idea, especially seeing as there are scum still out there, but it reeks of fishing. At present, I'm more confident about lynching Doğ-With-A-Bone, but I think we should start paying a bit closer attention to Bernard. After all... He did ask for it. Before I forget: Vote: Hair-of-the-Doğ-That-Bit-Me Akbulut (Dragonator)
  17. I'll give my list of suspicions now. 1) Doğ the Bounty Hunter - the reasons should be obvious, seein' as everyone and their grandma's repeated them. Between Doğ-and-pony-show over there and Kristina's mysterious contacts, something definitely ain't right. 2) Person A. I don't know who he or she is, but Kristina says they're the only other one who could've known about her being suspicious of Shane. If Shane didn't talk to Doğ-leg - and I don't buy into the "two Communication Experts" theory that someone floated (might even have been Doğ himself, I'm not sure) - then either Person A did or Doğ is just scarily, superhumanly perceptive, which I doubt. I know Kristina doesn't like the possibility, but if we lynch Doğ and he flips scum, we'll have to look at Person A. 3) I wasn't too sure who to put here for a while, but this post caught my eye: I think by this point we'd all agreed the tuxedo killer was probably the scum killer, so why did Peter seem to think otherwise? Was he trying to deflect suspicion away from the SK? Unless some bizarre celestial alignment occurs to bring radical new information to light, I think I'm going to vote for Old-Doğ-New-Tricks. He's got a big ol' question mark floating over his head right now, and question marks cannot go unattended. Whether he's scum or not could help us decide what to do in the coming days.
  18. Dammit! I was sure Byron was scum. So, Shane was town. Does that mean Person A was scum and in communication with Doğ-breath? Are we even still sure Hound Doğ is scum? I too am waiting am waiting with bated breath to hear Kristina's answers on this matter.
  19. I know the death of another player is supposed to be sad, but goddamn that was funny. I think the "Damn right it's dangerous" was what did it.
  20. I third this motion. We need answers and we need 'em bad.
  21. My guess is the zombie represents an SK who can kill during the day night. I remember this one book I read about a town in the Old West where a snake charmer/lawyer used a time-delayed kill against the town, and he himself was a third party. This town was also run by some army guy who I think was an ancestor of the Malones, so there's precedent for this sort of thing. As for choice of target, Shane is an experienced mafioso. He'd probably be high on the list for metagame-kills, and thus a relatively "safe" target.
  22. And yet the time it took for you to explain yourself sufficiently was far too long. You were asked at least three times about your vote, and it was only relatively recently that you gave anything approaching a decent answer. The first time somebody asked you about it, it was Terrence at the end of last night. He thought your non-explanation of your vote was reason enough for him to vote for you. You could have used this opportunity to better explain yourself, but you gave the same non-response you'd already given. Earlier tonight I said I would like to hear more from you, and I mentioned the vote. Again, you could have used this opportunity to properly explain yourself, but you gave the same non-answer again. It was only when I further prodded you after that that you offered up a more concrete response. As I explained when I voted, I didn't like how long it took for you to provide what was ultimately a pretty soft response. Really? Because I got no indication of that from you last night or today. In fact, I think this was the only time you directly addressed me last night: Adam, on 27 August 2013 - 03:16 PM, said: By the way Cap'n Rolfe (Capt. Redblade), I agree that voting is very important in this particular game... of life because of our inability to talk privately, which seriously inhibits PR's (I wonder if the Ferrari's are also unable to talk to one another? The rules don't really specify that...). That said, policy lynching sucks for the mere reason that it prevents the town from lynching somebody who could legitimately be scum. You've voted for Jamie (jamesn) apparently because you think he's scummy, and you've outlined your reasons why, which is the kind of action that the town should be taking, not policy lynching. I don't get the sense that you were particularly put off by anything I was doing when you made that post. The only thing you said about my vote was that it was for someone I thought was scummy, and thus the right thing to do. If you at all thought my vote was unreasonable, you sure didn't say it. Why not air your grievances last night when it was a hot topic? Oh, and one final word before I put the brakes on this train of thought: Am I the only one who thinks Bernard needs to start payin' more attention? I get that the guy's old and may be startin' to lose his touch, but this seems like a dumb mistake. He says he got Doğukan and Donny confused, but then why would he say Doğukan didn't exist? Did he mean he wasn't alive anymore? That I could buy. But no, he says he doesn't exist. As in, ain't no such person and never was. What's with dat?
  23. It took far too long and far too many people asking to get an answer out of Byron as to why he voted for Penelope. And even then, it was a pretty soft justification. Vote: The Great Byron (Bob)
  24. I think it's pretty much a given that scum can PM each other. I remember reading a story about a Mafia School where there were two scum teams who weren't initially able to contact each other, and it made things rather difficult for all involved. Isolating the scum from each other here would be a needlessly cruel thing to do on God's part, so they must be able to talk.
  25. No, you really did not. What specifically did she say that put you off? If we're going to evaluate your accusation fairly we need specific, concrete examples of Penelope's scumminess. We're not all thinking on the same wavelength, so you may be seeing things that we aren't. If that's the case, it would help us greatly to know what they are.
