Osric's Tale Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Chapter 13 Chapter 14 Chapter 15 Chapter 16 Chapter 17 Osric prepared to board the Swift Wing. It had been some time since he had been on the ocean, and longer yet since he had left Avalonia. He had never been to Kaliphlin and felt nervous about it, which irritated him more than he cared to admit. He was glad Christine would travel with him for a while, though he did not want to say goodbye to her. Perhaps it was for the best, however. When told she’d be brought to Kaliphlin, she actually seemed relieved. Osric only hoped the reports coming from Kaliphlin had been exaggerated, and that she would be safe there. Meanwhile, deep in the forest near the Mitgardian border… Erik made his way north towards Mitgardia. He had heard tell that a forest giant had been killed near the Mitgardian border, and the body was just left for the wolves. Giant’s teeth sell at a decent price, if you can find an alchemist to buy them. Seemed like a waste not to go get them. Finding the tracks for the beast was easy enough. However, after following the tracks a short ways, Erik heard someone talking, and he sounded very angry. Hiding behind a tree, he watched and waiting until he saw a man walk by. The man looked like no man he had ever seen before. He wore majestic robes, and wore what looked to be the skull of a basilisk over his head as a helmet of sorts. The man carried a gruesome war hammer, which had to have been the largest he had ever seen. Seeing the man sent a very icy chill down his spine, and suddenly Erik had long forgotten the forest giant, and all his thoughts were focused on how to escape without being seen. I really wanted some kind of water underneath this build. I just couldn't build enough water under the entire build. I tried to "photoshop" some in, but it didn't turn out very well! The ship was thrown together fairly quickly for this part of the story. I really liked the idea of using the eagle for a figurehead, but most of my ship-building bricks are over seas. Whenever I am able to get them back, I'll revisit this ship. Maybe it'll be used in the Brethren of the Brick Seas when that gets going. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed. The story was at least not so long this time! C&C welcome as always.

[WZ7: E8, High Council] - Shrine of Al-Shirii
MiloNelsiano replied to MiloNelsiano's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks guys! The wall is actually completely upside down, and attaches to the ground with a few "The One Ring"s. Thanks. A higher wall mjght have looked better, but i dont have a whole lot of bricks in that color. Thanks. Boring grounds is pretty typical in my MOCs right now, but Im trying to get somr more pieces to make them more interesting. -

The battle of Queenscross was fought outside its walls, as the local guard refused to side with the Council or the Desert King until one of the sides prevailed. The High Council troops included several squads of elite archers that were able to thin out the Desert King’s troops very quickly. The Desert King’s troops began their retreat at a point outside the wall where the Shrine of Al-Shirii overlooks. Many of the guards at Queenscross dress and arm themselves similarly to Ali-Shirii’s sculpture at the shrine. My first Kaliphlin build! I definitely need some more sand-looking pieces. I've been very confused/overwhelmed by this whole challenge, so if I did something wrong, please let me know. Sorry I couldn't come up with a witty topic title. C&C always welcome!

Osric's Tale Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 Chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 Chapter 13 Chapter 14 Chapter 15 Chapter 16 Chapter 17 Osric sat in the throne room across from his father, Lord Orys. The Farwinds of Oros weren’t a typical noble family, and the appearance of the throne room at Valley-View Keep was no exception. Since the beginning of their Lordship over the territory of Oros, the Farwinds have maintained that Lords should lead their people, rather than rule them. In the throne room at Valley-View Keep, there were two thrones, which faced each other. In the one throne sat the Lord of Oros, and in the other sat petitioners as they brought requests and concerns before their Lord. Osric had just finished explaining to his father of his findings on the Old Road from Meldrim. “This is rather disturbing news,” Orys concluded once Osric had finished. “The shipment to Kaliphlin is of upmost importance. Even in the best of times, an undelivered trade shipment can stress Guild relations. We keep receiving updates on the situation in Kaliphlin, and every day things look grimmer. We’ll send another ship tomorrow carrying the late shipment, plus as much additional food and goods as possible.” “That certainly seems to be in order,” agreed Osric. “You will go with the shipment so that we might fully know the needs of our neighbors to the south.” “But, I—“ started Osric. His thoughts were only on the enchanted forest giant, and the mage who must be responsible and still at large. “What of our own troubles?” “Cain and Jace will soon return. They’ve found no sign of the dwarves, who seem to have returned entirely to Mitgardia. They will be able to deal with any other problems that arise. Besides, you should bring this chain you found on the giant with you, and seek someone with knowledge of it. Someone as the University will certainly know something.” “What of my work at the forge?” The Farwinds all worked as common laborers, as they believed in leading their subjects by example. Osric worked as a smith, while his father Orys was a farmer. “There are enough other smiths in Oros to take over your work,” Orys answered with a frown. “You should bring Christine with you. I’ve heard of a school of sorts for…artistic folk like her.” Christine owned the smith where Osric worked. She painted armor and shields at the request of customers, though since Oros had no coat of arms, she didn’t have many interested in her services. “She can’t leave,” Osric said quickly. “She runs the shop at the smith. She—“ “She has no place here,” Orys interrupted. “Do you remember the story of how Olaf Farwind first came to Oros?” Osric remembered it well. Olaf Farwind was the first Farwind to be Lord of Oros. When he was 8 years old, Olaf’s father was a high lord of sorts in Mitgardia, and served as the advisor to the King of Mitgardia. However, the king was greedy, and Olaf’s father merciful. The king became jealous of the people’s love of the Farwinds. The king thought it was the Farwinds beautiful coat of arms that inspired the people’s love. In his jealousy, the king ordered all Farwinds be killed at once, and then took the Farwind’s coat of arms as his own. Olaf escaped in a small rowboat that he rowed along the coast until he was out of Mitgardia. He then landed in Oros where he accepted a job as the then Lord of Oros’ gardener. The lord and his lady wife had never been able to conceive a child, but they immediately took a liking to Olaf. Soon Olaf was named as the heir of Oros. The people of Oros were outraged, and many refused to follow a gardener as their lord. However, when Olaf continued to work as a gardener while being Lord of Oros, they instantly loved him. They had never known a lord to make himself equal to his subjects. Because of this, the Farwinds have always continued to work as commoners. They have also taken no family coat of arms or colors, and have a general disapproval of art and beauty, thinking it was this vanity that brought the ruin to their family in Mitgardia. Osric had become quite close with Christine, and had been considering courting her. He found her artwork beautiful, but was embarrassed to say so, as he was raised to believe art and beauty to be unimportant. However, Osric knew it was not his place to defy his father. “I remember,” Osric answered. “ When do we leave?” “Your ship will be loaded in the morning, and you will leave as soon as it is prepared. You will land in Barqa where the cargo will be sold. If our reports are reliable, they will likely be willing to pay ten times what the food is worth. However, Oros will not take advantage of others’ misfortune. Be sure it is sold at a fair price. From there you will travel to Petraea. Christine’s stop is a town named Ruadh, shortly before you arrive at Petraea. Send word of your travels as often as you are able to.” “I will, Father.” Osric replied. “I never expected such a task, and I fear I’m not fully prepared.” “You are,” Orys said rising from his throne. “I would not send you if you were not. I will be in the fields when you leave so I will be unable to see you off. I bid you farewell, Osric.” With that, Orys left Osric alone in the throne room to think of the task before him. I apologize for such a long story for such a simple build. Thank you to those who read it all! For anyone who didn't, the throne room is very plain and boring, as the Farwinds find beauty poinless and vain. I hope you enjoyed! C&C very welcome!

Book II, Chal IV - Kaliphlin Civil War (Results Posted)

In my post I said the Desert King was my last choice but i would build for them if asked to, as I had no idea who was winning.- 272 replies

Ive been waiting for these helmets to appear in GOH (may have missed them somewhere else) but I pictured them on Desert King troops. I'm planning on using one on a character in the near future. The build looks good, though one could argue theres a few plain places. You did include some nice details tho. Keep it up!

MiloNelsiano replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
With the major part of a move behind me, I'd finally like to sign up. I haven't followed very closely so I have no idea who is winning but I would prefer to support the high council, with Ulandus being my second choice. If I have to though I can also build for the Desert King.- 272 replies

Your figs in the scale keep getting better and better (hard to believe with such a high bar already). Sorry if i missed this earlier somewhere, but just how many pitchforks do you have?

Go Dan! Be careful though, i too have tried so many WIPs and i had to take quite a few apart because i ran out of parts. -
Given the success of the birds on lego ideas, you might try submitting some of your animals. I would darn sure buy one of these monkeys, and since they dont look too parts intensive (the second one anyway), they would likely be reasonably priced.

Into the Nestlands [WZ3:G15, Desert King]
MiloNelsiano replied to Emma's topic in Guilds of Historica
I think it has a very unique look with a great color scheme. Though obviously vegetation doesnt usually grow well in sand there are exceptions. I dont know exactly what Emma was going for here but for example: http://beauty-places.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Desert-Oasis-Wallpaper.jpg- 18 replies

[MOC] Medieval City House
MiloNelsiano replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really like the style of the houses here, as well as the overall look. The modularity is also great. The one thing I'm not a big fan of is the bright red roof pieces (though these pieces are very common in red). The rest of the build has a very nice and subtle color scheme, but the red sticks out like a sore thumb. -
Nice simple build LordDan! And is this your first use of fleshies? (With the insanity of the forum and the insanity of a real life move I havent kept up very well) Regardless the fleshies look nice!

Official Eurobricks Straightshooters List

+1 to the_Customizer. Great transaction! -
I received my figures yesterday. For anyone curious in doing business here, I will vouch and say the prices that I was offered were lower than anywhere else I've found. International shipping was also not a problem, and everything arrived quickly and for cheaper than I had expected. Thank you again!

GoH Collectible Minifigs Series voting time!
MiloNelsiano replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
4. +1 13. +1 29. +1 Really hard to pick favorites. Voting for single figs might be easier, groups of 16 is almost impossible! -
Very nice tower. I've been admiring this project from the start, and really can't wait to see it all put together. My tiny criticism for this build would be the the black on white for the tavern is perhaps a bit of a harsh contrast. White with dark brown, or even tan with black might work a little better. Regardless, I always enjoy seeing these sections of your castle!
