  1. Very nice! This is a good interpretation of what such a space home would look like, while looking a nice place to live in. The best of both worlds! I like all the details in there, like the shuttle, the tanks, the domes, the weird white bubbles... just what a spacehome needs. The angular look really fits, and the cheese slopes make for great panels: very nice texture there! I love the diference between those smooth surfaces and the well executed greebles. I's not quite clear to me what you mean by the space elevator. Is that spine below the ship/home supposed to extend all the way to earth? Anyway, now we're talking about that spine anyway, it looks really good! Is there a reason why the solar panels are rather tiny? I would love to see some of the folded type! Also, I should aim the radar dishes downward, to earth. Well, as long as there is an up and down in space... Anyway, great build and very nice entry in the contest. Best of luck!
  2. Incredible. That is a very nice mouse. Both of them. You don't use any specialized parts, yet the part usage is rather ingenious. I have no idea how you come up with some of those techniques, and then integrate them seamlessly in you build, like it's very normal. Just look at that inverted x round tile, those angled ears, how the eyes are attached, the mouse wheel... But I only see one tail... or is it a wireless mouse? Keep up the incredible builds. I love'm.
  3. That already looks better. Great solution for filling the gaps as elegantly as possible. Surprising how often those little details make it out. An easy way to make the transition even smoother is to replace that dark grey tile with some slopes. Also, be careful with that angular bottom. Unless you want to make it some kind of dropship, it doesn't really fit in there. Adding some slopes there wouldn't be that hard (considering there are already studs available) and if you want to obtain some straight lines, try to mimic the grey stripe you used for the transition above. That would be good for the sake of consistency too. If you're going to add guns there, it would be best to incorporate them into the body as best as you can, IMO. Well, that's about it. It's already really good. When I look at it closely, I can see all kind of fancy bits there, like the tiles in the back at degrees, the detailed cockpit, the shaping of the wing even at the backside... You should be proud of your first MOC, and can almost start thinking about a proper name!
  4. I finally saw the movie yesterday. At this very moment, I can still feel it's awesomeness The settings, the vehicles, the story... everything clicks together in one very funny, entertaining and stunning movie. I also had a lot of fun looking for hidden things. Gosh there were many things to see (including Fabuland heads mounted on the wall in the saloon!) All in all, it was a very beautifyl and compelling movie. I immedeately wanted to build some wacky stuff, and wanted more sets about those gorgeous models occuring in the film (like that train).
  5. I like it! It's good you dare to change things that already were good to begin with. The overall shape and the motors are now really good. The new color scheme is very nice and refreshing. I would keep it. If you still accept suggestions, I would like a more smooth transition between the rounded body and the flat wind. Just a few support beams would tie the structure together visually. Maybe the Prince of Persia arches (88292) would look good here, or some other inverted bow or slope. Actually, I have kind of the same suggestions for that drone. If you could make it more a part of the body of the ship, people would be more surprised it can come of. Or adding some claws keeping it on the ship would make it better. Just be sure your ship doens't end up too high.
  6. Very single addition to this work of art blows my mind. Now again, with this amazing bridge. And wait... did you say steampunk vampire hunters? I'm beginning to think this project will never stop... amazing me.
  7. It's shoot-a-Rebel time! The piece of the base you built is reallywell done and believable. The heavy slopes give both the Imperial and underground look, and those SNOTted tiles add some extra, typical Imperial detail. The armory is well done with all those guns closely mounted. Details like the control panel for the door add to the authenticity. All in all, a very nice scene! I'm not very sure about the sudden contrast between the LBG and DBG, like with the door. I'd make the door more homogenous (the arrows are not really working for me. You could add some simple stripes though), and border it off with more sloped sides. The armory could be filled with some more crates, to cover some bald areas, as long as everything keeps looking well organized. Maybe adding some strips of lights in e hallway would evoke the underground feeling even more. It's very nice to se you using techniques you picked up during your ISD-series. Things like the borders on top make your scenes look more and more professional. The Rebellion won't be a match for this!!!
  8. Yes, we've got the Rebels there! The design of the gate is very interesting. Not something I expected to see, but very refreshing with those pinacles. For a main gate, it seems pretty underarmed though. Maybe some automatic cannons mounted to the wall would give you some extra firepower, and break up the big monotony of that wall. After all the shooting, some battle damage on that wall wouldn't look off as well. Also, your on a volcanic planet, so those guys in the towers and in that box might want some protection, like energy shields just like the doors. If you're looking for some extra ideas to make that wall look better, consider putting slopes in it, so that it isn't all on the same vertical plane. Thanks to you, we're winning now!
  9. O... a SNOTted floor! I like it! Although micro, the essence of the Hangar bay really is there. All the angles, and the general feeling are conveyed perfectly. Maybe a grille tile on the wall would have made it more technical, it still is good. Especially when it's standing next to all that micro goodness! That AT-AT is just perfect (albeit too big for the hangar. That results in a weird effect. Maybe you should have made the hangar just a tiny bit bigger). And the lovely crates and that troop carrier finish the scene. I also like your sense for detail, like that one TIE pilot that's positioned by his fighter. Every bit of this scene is just right. That group picture is totally it. The posing is great. I would immedeately put it in a frame, or spread it out as propaganda. Nice shot! Hopefully this is a sign of all the good things to come. Taht's right: give those Rebels the freight of their live!
  10. So is it our intention to evenly spread out all our builds across the different sectors, or will we concentrate our forces on some areas, so that we will win those almost certainly?
  11. Very interesting challenge indeed, but it seems there are many things demanding my attention these days... Luckily, I'm in love with SoNE. In the prizes, it is stated that your faction will receive points. These points, are they only valid during this episode, or is this a more overarcing thing, in which the points over multiple episodes accumulate for each faction?
  12. *Reads this topic, sreaming like a little girl* *Puts every other build on hold* *Begins building* *Gets frustrated anyway. No huge building has popped out* *Cries buckets* *Gets excited again!* O dear, I really would like to participate in this one. Good thing digital building receives some love too. The prizes look amazing too (although I would have not the slightest idea what brick i would pick...). And I like the different categories (microscale!!!). This sure will take up a lot of my time... But thanks in advance for this amazing contest. On a side note, all the MOCs created for this contest could really boost the index of digital builds on this forum...
  13. I'd like to add my method for finding a certain part, although it has already been solved. Like everyone here, I add one of the bricks I have to find, and use that specific part selection tool, then I either move them to find them, of I give them all some kind of fancy color. As fir the mirror issue. I encounter that a lot as well. I split the part I have to mirror up in two parts. One part contains the elements that don't have to be mirrored, since they appear as equal from both sides. I go ahead and jus comy those. The other part is more difficult. Sometimes I just mirror it part by part, or sometimes you can rotte it for 180 degrees and replace a few parts. I'm just wondering if it is possible to export your model to a program that does support a mirror function (like SR3D builder), and import that mirrored part back in. Has somebody got any ideas on that?

You just can't make any bad models, can you? Because this is yet another gem. The shape is accurate as can be (and I totally agree with using the studded look), the details are all there (love the cockpit, although a bit more sand green wouldn't look of), the cannon is a straight beauty, and ose angled parts are delicious. I'm also a bit surprised you managed to make a sturdy and balanced model, because when I look at that first picture, I'm a bit concerned it might topple over. Some minor details I noted (only after thoroughly comparingto reference pictures), is that the dark tan border at the back of the front 'skirt' should go all the way round, and not only occupy the top section as in your model. Also, the widening at the base of the cockpit seems not enough for me. 3x3 corner roof tiles could fix that (although they haven't appeared in a single set in tan, they ARE available on Bricklink). Finally, I consider the grey burnt stripes above the cannons as part of the vehicle, so I am missing those, although I understand how hard they are to replicate in Lego. Anyway, those are but my humble suggestions for improvement, if there's even anything to improve on this wonderful model. You just keep surprising us! Hat off.
  15. Welcome to you both! A lot of people seem to make the right decision these days. I hope that together, we can crush the Rebellion (despite their lucky torpedos)! We'll do all that we can to help you become the finest troopers of the Empire. Have a cookie, and then you can start cleaning the baraks... just kidding: start building and make us proud! PS: I was going through the available planets lately, and it seems we've had all planets that appeared in the movies already. So now for terrain I'm not familiar with, I guess. Next episode will prove to be quite a challenge...
  16. Yay, another piece of your Star Destroyer! You're definetly on the right way, and it's great to see that. The tiled floor once again looks beautiful, with a sensible amount of grill in there. The angles you've been incorporating are getting more delicious by the minute. Those doorways are especially nice, and I like the variety you bring in them. What pleases me a lot is that this scene is a well defined part of space, since you've lined it of really good. The dark grey border on top, in combination with the inverted slopes works. (BTW, is there a reason for those bricks with technic holes being there, or is that just a hole in your collection?) Not very spectacular, but still very notable is that technique you used for that piece of piping up there. I really like i, although it reminds me maybe a bit too much of the porjector screens we have in our days. But that's just my mind playing tricks on me, is it? Anyway, it's getting harder and harder to point out points of improvement (which is a really good thing!). My only remarks on this one would be that corner at the far left. That looks like a piece you forgot, and distracts a bit from the picture, since it looks like it wasn't meant to be visible. Covering up those areas with just a wall of plain bricks already helps out. Also, you could try to experiment with a SNOTted floor, since those tiles aren't working too well at the angled edges, looking quite ragged. You could also play better with texture in that way, since you could use those grill bricks for finer stripes, or the back side of those brick bricks. Or you could incorporate SNOTted plates for slim stripes on the floor. But wait... that isn't criticism any more, that's just asking for mor MOCs .
  17. Oww... your building an entire SD then! First a turret, now a piece of the bridge. I'm wondering where this is going to end. Anyway, this is a neat clean build. The tiles you've used on the floor are an improvement in my eyes, especially because you incorporated some grills too. The angles walls are succeeded as well. I you want to go the extra mile, you could angle those wall around the horizontal axis as well, but it would be hard to fit everything together then. Some greebles would be nice, since this time, it looks a bit too clean (always contradicting myself ). A SD's bridge does contain a lot of details beneath the windows, so if you would do that, this MOC would attain a new level detail and awesomeness (as well as more points, which we can use of course ). Also, the scene seems to end quite abruptly at the top. As I've said before, adding some inverted slopes to angle inwards could help there. And finally: I'm starting to miss the space backdrop there. It looked great on your previous MOC, so why did it disappear? Nonetheless, even without it, this scene still looks great, and like it's preceding something greater. Can't wait to see those Shadow Troopers in action!
  18. Is this still built with pieces from the Milennium Falcon only? Cause if it is, it only augments to the succes of this little scene. Because those greebles are really good, and it's believable as some maintenance corridor. The top-down composition is nice as well. For a forgotten corridor, it still looks a bit too clean in my opinion. Some tiles broken loose or some wires hanging from the ceiling would add to the effect. Also, the top part is a little small. It results in a pretty weird form that distracts a bit of the nice composition. Making the whole thing more cubic would give a more pleasant feeling. Still, this is a masterful little MOC, filled with good greebling. I'm beginning to like this series of yours even more...
  19. Wait, am I missing something? The Death Star blew up like one planet, and that was only to get that socalled princess to talk, to prevent further suffering. And the Rebels? How about this (times two!):
  20. As great as a small fighter can be. The influence by the poster is clearly visible, yet you gave your own wonderful twist to it. I really like how that cockpit is tucked away in there. Those engines are nice as well, and so are the vials you used for guns. I'm not too sure about the big guns at the bottom though. It seems this fighter as already enough firepower, and they don't blend in too well with the rest of the ship. I don't know why. Maybe you could try to rework those, or to replace them with something different, like engines, extra wings or a landing gear... So this is your new wonderful passion after Blacktron then?
  21. Nice one! I like that you've captured an aspect of a Star Destroyer we don't get to see very often. I'm also very glad you didn't take the easy way and built your own lasergun, which looks great too! The window is also very good with the two colors giving some nice layers too it. I really like that background too. (Maybe white technic axles in black cross-axle hole bricks would make some more realistic stars though...) My remarks are somewhat ambiguous, so be warned! Because in my opinion, your scene is both a bit too clean, AND a bit too messy. Let me explain myself. It's a bit too clean for my taste, because there are a lot of big uniform surfaces. Some inverted slopes near the top would help breaking it up, so would some kind of monitor. The messy part is about the pretty random placed crates. You're at a cannon, so you want to have everything in reach and easily accesible. So a very strickt organizing of the space would be realistic. The cannon would still need its place, but there could be a straight line of stacked crates with spare parts, a unit to communicate with mission control etc. I hope those remarks make some sense, but I hope even more that you keep on getting a better builder (not only because you're on the good side, but only because this is pretty promising, with the forced perspective and excellent props!).
  22. Oooh... Those seemingly absurd fighters are actually a part of the greatest culture in history? Didn't see that coming. What I did see coming was an amount of very quilitative builds. You've intorduced some already, and here we get the missing pieces. And what a beauties are they! The Jishin especially is very nice, with is intricate shape and amazing wings (although not very fond of the cockpit). The Mizu clan's draconid (doesn't it have a name then?) has those awesome pods, but I'm not very fond of the shape. It would be nice to have one very skinny and streamlinded Draconid here... But so far for the critics bit, because it's very hard to write it when you're facing such an amount of awesomeness, skill and creativity. I'm really glad and amazed that you continued this theme of yours, and exceeded yourself with every new build. You are now definetly the king of space curves (there should be a tag for that!)!!! You've made this series of creations into a great saga with a very nice background story (But I already know you're going to say that you wrote it one afternoon when you were bored... ). And yeah, you even gave a shot at some scenery. Not too bad... makes me want to see that vulcano etc. So I really can't imagine what awesome stuff you will come up with next!!! The Rainbow Dragon? A new theme? (my guesses are Space Pirates of Space Knights (in succesion of TLM set). Oh God, I even see you making a Space cavemen theme!). Anyway, you've got my attention.
  23. This is probably the best LotR micro ever. You've captured the crowded yet elegant feel of the city fantastically. That rockwork is amazing, especially for micro scale. And that roundness of the city... that's a real achievement. That patch of rock with the dome behind the city is phenomenal! So is the variety of the details on the city. And that horde of studs besieging that creation is just the cherry on top. I really want this on my desk! Are you planning to make a series of these, with Minas Morgul, Isengard etc? Than we could make a map of Middle-Earth with these landmarks towering above it! This MOC deserves all the attention it gets. Congrats on getting blogged on the brothers brick!
  24. You're building some of the best alternate models I've ever seen. You should really ge a job with TLG. The diversity of what you build, is what strikes me most. You don't build a vehicle out of an animal set, but still you manage to pull off something completely different and believable. This topic is full of those creative and well built models. I really hope you keep continuing this, cause they're really inspirational. Are you participating in the "Be the special" alternate contest at rebrick.com ? You could really make someing great there, just like in the rebrickable alternate contest. I voted for you, you know ;)
  25. This is a really nice and quite believable speeder you'managed to make with limited pieces. It looks like it's influenced by the speeder bike fro VI, and I like that. The engine is an interesting part, but it's a pitty there aren't any visible exhausts, that are pretty characteristic for speeders. The interior of the cockpit is another gem of modest functionality. The only problem I have is that it isn't a closed canopy, or there isn't a special suit for the pilot, since it's a high-altitude speeder. Keep building these beautiful models with excellent curves and shapes!
