  1. Wow. this is a delicious diorama! It's one of the best Roman builds I've ever seen. But what most strikes me is the sheer beauty of it. That temple is gorgeous. I like what you did with the roof (although those studs are a bit bothering me), and the overall shape is just right, and those adronments are really perfect. The friezes are nice, although something more elaborate with more variation would be better. Still, it's great to see you brought everything to life with those relief bricks and other goodness. The columns aren't bad, but those 'floating' parts are a bit akward. But all of this is nothing compared to the beautiful decorations in the walls and on the door. Maybe a bit too elaborate for a Roman temple, but still really beautiful. It's nice that you also paid attention to the floor. That makes me wonder if there's something to see on the ceiling... I could go on for quite a while with what I like here. The realistic terrain with the nice rocks and the sweet texture of the ground. The rather exotic garden with the fancy decorations and glorious tilework (those dice tiles work surprisingly well!) and with that very respectable 'walking bed'. The gate itself is okay (it's a bit too much texture here for me, since a gate like this has to look simple. Pallisade bricks would've been better than those round bricks, and those studs could easliy be covered with tiles), but still has a very nice layout. The ground in front of the gate is once again fantastic, but that behind the gate seems a bit... weird. But what a glorious overall picture! It's so nice that you dared to sneak in that much color in a Roman diorama (somehow, I would find that very difficult...)., and the variety in the scenery is great. There aren't any real smooth transitions between the sections, but somehow it works. And finally, my compliments how well the action contrasts with the peaceful scene and places the entire Roman history in it's proper perspective. Well done, I would say!
  2. Wow, you just keep those awesome creations coming! That penguin is pure genious. Everything is right, and you even included a nice tail. I'm even more inawe because I tried to get a dcent alternate out of this set myself for the Rebrickable contest, but only managed to come up with a shabby horse that wouldn't look bad as a dinosaur... But you always seem to find the best in sets and build something that looks like it's actually supposed to be made with those bricks. I have no idea how you do it, but some tips would be welcome ;) But anyway, great creations all the way! Maybe try building an orca from those furry creatures?
  3. So that was what that loud bang was all about... it was the beginning of a terrific build! Because that hole in the wall looks particulary nice, and I love the little debries you scattered around the scene. That makes it feel very realistic, and the exposed beams and greebles look great. The shaft is a little bit too light in my opinion, a narrow, dark tube Ould be more appropriate for my taste. The shaft and the explosion illustrate a point that I really like in this build: it's the difference between order and chaos, between nature and architecture. Those exposed rocks are another example. They look very nice, and help to break up your scene a bit more, which is welcome in that area. The transition between the rock and the wall isn't at it's best though. It's a bit too straight. Adding more angles parallel to the wall would help here. It would also break up the very straight lines and big surfces of that section. The corridor itself is the star of the day. The shape is perfect, and that smoothness is exceptional. You mastered all the angles perfectly. The grills on the floor and the roster on the ceiling complement very nicely. The way the doors are angled is great too. It's good that you added all those identical control panels (as far as I can tell, you even turned all the printed tiles the same way around...), but hey're a bit too brute for me. Replacing those round plates with a round tile and some kind of minifig accesory would give some more refinement here. But that is only a small issue in such a fine build. Finally, I like the sense of thight action too. It really gives the feel of the shootout in the DS detention block. My only remark here would be that the Rebels are really without any cover... some pillars or crates to hide behind would make a small but logical addition. Of there are even valuable things to add to such a nice build...
  4. That happens when you start placing explosives on the heat exchanger for absolutely no good reason! Stupid Rebels... ... but at least, they still build very good. The lava is obiously the stong point here. The subtle color changes, the texture (nice to include those radar dishes), the viscous look... it looks especially great when out of focus, like in the 4th picture. In some places you tried to make the border less angled, and it would've been nice to see this continued throughout the border of the lava. Those spots of black are really nice too, but maybe I would have liked to see some more of those dark crusts, because now I have the feeling the lava is really dominating the whole scene, which makes it look a bit like a mess (meaning: it's difficult to look at something else... it's hard to get my head aorund it...). All that orange cheese neer the border is a nice addition, although I agree with LegoFjotten about it only adding to the already huge amount of orange. If you really want to, maybe something more brown would make for a nicer border. I really like the way the lava spills to that gaping hole in the wall though, and those little eruptions make the scene more dynamic. But of course, there's more to this build than lava. There's an entire Imperial base to look at! I absolutely like all the tubes tucked into the walls, and those relief bricks make for some subtle variation. My favorite parts are all dark grey though. Those horizontal stripes look gorgeous, and maybe it would've been nice to see them run all around the room. Those pillars are nice and simple as well, and it's great to see that crate piece used in this way. Finally, the actual armory looks very practical and well arranged, and I appreciate the effort to make some custom cannons. Then there's that thing you're surfing on, battlinng the mighty Nom Carver! What a suspense! But that ... thing is probably my least favorite part of the build; It's not clear to me what it function is... was, so it looks more like a convenient surfing board then something that actually belonged to that place, thus making sense to be there. Still, this very nice builds deserves lots of praise, so I leave you with my appreciation of that one part of damaged floor.
  5. O, that's very nice! I've tried to make a micro A-wing myself (if you really want to, you can check it on my Flickr), and I must say I like this one a lot. Sure, the proportions are a little off, but at least you added a lot of detail, and your model is nice to look at from every angle. And that base is just adorable and well executed (sorry for the bad pun). The biggest changes you could still do to improve the model, would take place in the back. Especially in the area of color, some things are a little bit off. To beign with, those 1x1white tiles at the sides could be replaced with dark red ones, evoking the exposed motors. The back part of the cockpit should be dark red as well. And in stead of a 1x2 tile, you could try a 1x2 bow piece (although not available in dark red yet). Finally, why don't place those 1x1 round plates on a 1x3 plate, so that they are centered more around the fins? Still, you did an excelent job in recreating the vehicle in such a tiny scale, and cudos for the stand.
  6. A new trailer for The New Yoda Chronicles is out, in which that UCS Falcon gets some more screentime. Unfortunately, there's a lot of motion blur, so I couldn't distinguish any particular features. A new Bail Organa can be seen as well!
  7. This makes me only feel worse. Whoever I hit... it didn't change anything. It's just another unimportant casualty in this atrocious war. If only those Rebels would stop fighting... But man, have they put up quite a fight! Now it weren't even there numbers (because finally, each faction has about the same amount of builds! Way to go!). If we weren't that well trained, surely two victories would've been unattainable. It was very close in a lot of places. We only barely made it in those two sectors. But we barely lost in my sector as well. What's one point? But what would I expect, with such a stupid action in my case... I'm glad Bob's entry didn't got disqualified due to my silliness (still ashamed...), and that it has been proven once again that LDD doesn't neceserally generates bad builds! This was a great episode with lots of variety, and the strategic aspect was quite fun. I hope future challenges will prove to be at least the same challenge (sorry to put pressure on the organizors, but you know what to do if you think you're not with enough people to support it...), and just as close in the end. I won't complain. That tag wasn't my favorite in the first place
  8. You have proven yourself worthy of your promotion, because man this creation is beautiful. Apart from all the clean lines we've become to expect from you, you've thrown in some of you greebling goodness. I like the consistency in it (the radar dishes, 1x2 grated slopes and telephone pieces come back regularly), still all the different configurations make it very diverse. It's unbelievable what you can do with even a single strip of studs, because I quite like those greebles in between the cells. And that relief you created around the place where the troopers are looking down upon the silly Rebels, is really awesome. But what actually drew my attention even more, is the fact how you used those tiles on the wall to give some extra details and texture, because they really look like panels that belong there. Well done! you've even continued it to the floor, with the square tiles in front of the cells and the 2x4 tiles in the hallway. That gives everything a very well-structured look, and I like that. It's a pitty there's a bit of a mess of irregular tile patterns in between the two sections at the corner... It's quite surprising, but very nice, that you rounded that corner off. On the other hand, I'm not too fond of those black pipes at the wall. They're quite hard in comparison to the rest of the scenery... But when I see those pipes under those grill tiles, that's all forgotten in an instant... another thing I really like is the shape of the hallway on the upper level. It's sad we don't get so see more of that. And now we're talking about the hallway on the upper level... What is actually the use of that opening that leads nowhere? Is it an acces to an extending bridge (but why?), or is it a vantage point (but why isn't there any kind of fence or means of communication?)... But it looks great anyway. Back on the ground, I haven't said how I like those simple cells, but am a bit puzzled... if I squeeze my eyes, do I see a yellow minifig in the left cell? Good job on the figs anyway. Those shadowtroopers look really good and consistent, while they are different. And those custom weapons for the Rebels are a nice little touch. But some more accesories for the Rebels would have been nice. I can imagine they'd bring some equipment to cut the power lines with them. Some crates on a carrier, or bags distributed among the troops. Then you could get rid of those Imperial crates, as others have pointed out, and replace them with equipment that makes more sense in the story. Maybe a Rebel technician laying down on the floor, tinkering with the supply lines would bring more variety in the minifigs, and somehow I've got the feeling the Rebel that's facing the viewer is communicating, so a headset for him would be nice. But what are those suggestions in the face of such a good build. i haven't even mentionned the nice use of color... but well, I guess you already know how much I like your builds.
  9. That is indeed one fine looking ship! Into my unexperienced eyes, that ship looks very Sullustan. And that thrown together makes it definetly Rebel. I like the practical boxed shape, although a tiny bit more detail would be even nicer. Some kind of antenna's or stabilizing fins... That would make the ship still look very practical due to its shape, while making it visually a little bit more interesting, and making it look more used. Also, making it less colorful, like with getting rid of that very light grey parts would enhance it some more, I think. But still it's a nice ship, and I like the use of red and blue in it. The base might be a bit simplistic. It's good your lava isn't monochrome and that you tried to give it some texture with those extra tiles, but it would be nice if you took these idea a little bit further. Adding in some browns, dark red, some orange... and varying between studded and tiles, making more layers, like dark crusts floating on it, or some rocks peeking through the lava... This would be especially nice in the immeadiate environment of the platform. Now it just seems to be kind of floating, and isn't connected to any visible piece of solid land. Making some kind of cennection to the base would be better as well. It's good that you gave the platform that hexagonal shape, and I'm quite fond of all the little barrels etc you placed there. But once again, some more variation would do it good. Maybe some markings on the landing pad, maybe some railings... Still, I like your scene. there's quite some suspense with those Rebels fleeing away from the blaster shots, in the hope of still reaching safety. that with all those beams racing around. To intensify it, maybe creating a greater distance between the Imps and the Rebs would help, because now it's rather hard to believe they don't hit their targets... it would create some more assymetry as well, and would give the chance to add in even more variety in all sorts of details.
  10. Come in trooper... I won't be able to help you out of there, but at least I can provide some comments on the build... For starters, I like the way you made the armory. All those blasters are neatly arranged so that they're easily accesible Well done! But in contrast to that, some parts are pretty messy. I can live with the studs on the floor, but those studded tiles on the ceiling are a bit out of pkace to me. Speaking of the floor: maybe you can't tile it while, but you could try to just tile the borders, or grill them. You could accentuate the door more, for instance. You already tried that with the darker grey, but due to the nearby presence of that color, and due to the fact that it's a pretty dark picture, it doesn't really stand out. In fact, it's a little bit hard to distinguish that door. Some slope pieces could accentuate it more. You already used some at the base of the wall, so you're definetly on the right way. And it would be nice if there was some kind of control panel or if that door was a bit wider. Because now, it looks hard to fit through... Still, it's pretty nice, and you've took a lot of steps in the right direction. Those slope pieces, those tiles... now it only needs some more detail, even if it's suposed to be a simple armory. Then you're stand would be that more epic, and your fallen friends would be honored even more. Glad you're still alie though.
  11. You always succeed in bringing the best of building and the best of storytelling together. This is sublime, very captivating. It's almost as watching a movie. Only thing it needs is a soundtrack full of suspense. Next time, maybe try to make a video? Nonetheless, let me highlight some of the beautiful aspects of this achievement. First of all, the build. you managed to get the best out of every location, bringing in some nice variety in your build. Moreover, every level has its distinct feeling. The top feels very barren, and you made excellent use of the studs and the amazingly shaped layers and holes. Even the colors surprise me, and those technical parts stand out pretty well, although a little bit more detail on those would make it more of a focal point. You didn't even need any fancy rockwork for this. Still, you wanted to give us some rocks, and those on the second and third level are just right. I especially like the almost hot and pressing atmosphere of the black level with all those boilers, pipes... exactly as a dark engine room should look like. The lights really help, but some more tints of red would bring that feeling even more forward. Luckily, the next level offers some cooling with those fans and water. I like the diversity, and the different changes between the scenes. You go from surface to cavern perfectly, and from cavern to base. Only the black cave ends rather abruptly in the grey one. You tried to smooth it out a bit with those blocky black bits in the grey level, but maybe slope pieces or wedge plates would have made for more of a gradient. The ultra-clean look of the base somehow manages to deliver real suspense. The smoothness, the grills, the angled walls, the detailed doors, the consoles... you understand how to build an Imperial base at its finest. Not sure what that extra room with the studded floor is supposed to be (some kind of prison cell?), but it doesn't seem in place. But it's quite surprising that it contains some detail and doesn't seem to be left out completely. Still, as was the case with the black caves where you hid the battery box, I really like how everything in this builds fits together to make one consistent build! But let's praise that hall some more. The shape of it is really nice, and the few pipes make it look fantastic. It's nice to see you continued those motives into the control room with the nicely shaped door (with extra details that you can barely see on photo) , tiles and grills, and even some nice little details like that Rebel datapad plugged into the computer. It's impossible to sum up everything that's great, so let me say that everything is awesomer. My congratulations with everything. With the build (there are some flaws, but somehow they don't bother me), the way you've captured it, and the way you've enriched it with a story. I agree that it brings your build to life and that it's a very important factor. And you managed perfectly. I'm in awe.
  12. O, really nice! So... what does NOSECONE stand for? I'm expecting a super duper abbreviation here! But even if it isn't any cool abbreviation in particular, your build is still nice. The antenna tower is the star. It's nice, so symmetrical, yet so diverse. You balanced between the two nicely. I like the different sections at 45 degrees, and am particularry fond of those cone combinations at the bottom. Moreover, the overall shape actually makes sense. Only thing is, that it seems to be just put on the floor: there is nothing of some support, or piping, or fencing of the sort. Maybe just a different tile pattern would be better. The ground level is well done. The tiling is nice, and so is that door with the hexagonal shape. The fact that it splits up in two angled parts is good, but it's a pitty that doesn't show clear in the build. I'm a big fan of your consoles with the right chosen printed tiles. Maybe try to go a little bit more assymeyrical, because what's the use of having every control double? Very nice touch to set the panels at that slight angle by the way. It really pleases me to see such a well worked out story, and a lot of documentation of the build. It makes you stand out as a dedicated builder, although you may not have that many parts. Imagine what you could do more though. Building walls all the way around (or just at the back, so the view isn't blocked), or building some rocks on top to convey the nested feeling you're talking about more... I would love to see that one day. But still your build is great as it is, and a very welcome addition to SoNE!
  13. Your stories and your builds just keep getting better. It's incredible how you can keep it up. The build is pretty good. I like the practical look of the communication station with the nice antennas (those wheels work great there) and interior, complete with SNOT consoles and DS stripes. The details like the console at an angle, or the tubes at the comm towers and beneath the station, or even the fact that you didn't just drop that chair on the geound show your dedication. With all that attention, I think it's a bit of a pitty that the side entrance and correcponding door that are mentionned in the sotry don't feature in the build. That makes it look a little incomplete. As for the environment, I like what you did with the lava, with those extra round plates and cheese slopes for more texture and even with those flames... it really seems ready to burst out. You made a little mistake in placing them across the direction of flow of the lava, making it look quite artificial. Laying those flames perpendicular to the bridge would give the feeling of flowing lava a lot more. That bridge, by the way, looks really good with the consistent grilled look and the angled railings. You made a good attempt at those rocks, and some parts turned out pretty nice, especially near the base. It makes me wish you used some more SNOT rocks. Because once again, those rocks don't look very natural everywhere. It's okay there is a flat area around the window, but for the rest there should be more texture. Also, I have the feeling there are too much ledges (i.e. inverted slopes) present int the vertical rock face. A more gentle slope would have been better. Furthermore, a nice addition would have been to make the top of the rockface sloping back towards the viewer, giving more of an enclised cavern feeling. But anyway, good job making those rocks on the side and making little holes here and there. I love those kinds of details. A nice extra detail could be an opening for the lava to flow out of the rock, according to your story. On the matter of the story, once again it's great. Love the development of the characters and the shocking ending. I would like to point out though that those stormies kept pushing on, because they knew how inpredictable the lava flow could be, and tried to keep Yeoman there long enough untill the lava would erupt. Well, it seemed they succeeded and are not that stupid as you portray them! But that's just a minor point in an overall great build, unlike any other.
  14. Great entry. That weapon storage is exactly as I pictured it! I really like what you did with that sotrage walkway. The guns, the crates... everything very easily accesible, very practical. Still, you found the place to squeeze in some nice details like those 1x1 round tiles and those holders for the bigger rifles. Those lights (or is it an air conditioning installation?) do look good, and I love the way they're angled, but maybe there a bit too densily packed. I have the feeling less might still be enough there. On the other hand, my compliments for the railings and the beams that support that walkway. Excellently executed! That brings us to the bottom part. Those screens are nice, but I don't see the point of them all giving exacly the same information. Some variety would have been nice. Some differently decorated tiles, or maybe something entirely different could have been there. Anyway, it is great that you added yet another level there, going further down. It brings the Imperial feel forward, and gives a little unexpected twist to your MOC, setting it apart. The consoles there are even better, and man those chairs look comfy. The grilled floor finishes it off nicely. So all in all, very neat, besides the crappy and unbelievable story. By biggest remark would be that there are too much blank surfaces. Especially the doors lack some detail. Some simple profile bricks would do. It wouldn't ruin the clean look that makes your model a delight to look at, yet it would enhance it more. Still, very impressive, especially when I see the tight timeframe involved!
  15. That's nice, although I'm a little bit glad that this didn't make it to the deadline, since it's already such a tight call... And with those pretty rocks, you might've changed the outcome! I really like the slope pieces you used there. It's a pitty you used those obvious BURPs then... more of those slope pieces would have been better, and you could even have placed them vertical to gain some height more quickly. The lava is nice, especially because you went for an irregular border. Try enhancing this effect by laying some edge plates over them, so that it looks less like a canal, and more like a dangerous flow of lava. Some more plates on different hights would give some nice texturing. That white Imperial wall seems... rather hard to clean with those volcanic ashes. Kidding, what I wanted to say is that it looks quite bland. Adding some ribs, vents... any kind of texture would make it look better. You can age it if you want to, because it is in a very hostile environment. So it woudl'nt surprise if some edges have crumbled off or so. The inside is quite... Spartan as well. It's very nice you used some color to break all the white and black up. But one side of the wall of the corridor is decorated, the other isn't. You could add some tubes and shafts there. The control room at the top is nice, but with those windows it's very hard to look what's happening right in front of the wall. Tilting those windows a little bit forward would help here. Also, some kind of cannon whcih can be controlled from the inide would make sense. The bottom part of the base benefits from the extra slopes you added there. you might even add some more, because that's the kind of texture I'm talking about. Those boulders, however do look a bit strange, just lying around there. The small console is sweet, but placing the screens on a certain height would already enhance the working comfort of those officers greatly. Finally, that ventilation shaft looks great, bit it's a pitty it doesn't continue in the upper section or across the roof of the lower section. Now it just kind of ends... But still, a very nice addition.
  16. Sweet and smooth little build! It already starts with the overhanging base. Perfectly executed, and a nice touch that sets you entry apart. Somehow, I like the floor as well with all the different tile patterns... The patterns created by those groove bricks are nice too, but i have the feeling something more typically Imperial would have been nice, like those vertical white stripes. Maybe go crazy and make horizontal ones . But on to the beef of the build. Your fig posing is nice as always. The first picture really is full of suspense, although it would have been better to take the picture with less light. Especially with the white, now it even has a little bit of a Hoth feeling. not exactly what we wanted... Back to the build: that canon is nice, but I always take pain in seeing severed minifig arms... also, making the gun some longer would've made it look heavier and woud've hidden the squarishness of it more. The fence to the armory is pretty nice, although I don't see why that woudl'nt be a ray shield. For the rest, the details are very well, and the clutteredness doesn't bother me at all. You want to have as much weapons as possible in your armory, right? Maybe placing the guns more on trooper height, and not just above the floor would make it more realistic. Or adding some detonator crates under it. Or placing the guns vertical... enough parameters to play with if you're not happy. But I think you're happy, because this is pretty good. I like how clean you topped everything off with that border. And those wall decorations with the slopes are just right. Keep it up!
  17. Nice build! Tou managed to capture the underground, heated feeling perfectly. With those rocks, lava, red accents, fans... each element has its place. My favorite is the fan section. Nice that you added some kind of roster behind them, and surround them with those shafts and tubes. The amount of detail is just right, and sets it apart. The section in front of it isn't bad too, with those nice looking consiles and big 'playing area' it seems a little bit empty though. It would ve nice to create some more depth in your scene, to get some more perspective. Some simple crates or droids could already do the trick. The addition of the lava is nice, and that's why the fans make sense. Some shades of red or brown would've been nice though. The rocks aren't my favorite part... they miss something... natural? Not sure, but I think they had more potential. I do agree that it isn't hunderd percent clear from the build what section you're trying to depict, but still it makes for a nice scene. But with all those Rebels disguising as Stormtroopers, I think it's about time for some troopers to infiltrate the Rebellion... don't tell anyone though...
  18. Wait... no hangar bay? I'm dissapointed: you included every single sector, yet o hangar bay? Lame! At least each section you did build is of the highest quality imaginable. The comm station is exceptional. The door is great and very creative. Not only those craes, but every single aspect of the shaping. And then those different consoles: you place all of them tastefully, at angles when appropriate. All the detailed extures in the wall are a very nice touch. The detention block is just as great. Great job on the floor too: you mastered SNOT perfectly. Again the vast variety of decorations and technicalities prove what an impressive builder you are. Same goes for the main hallway. The tubes in the ground, the beams in the ceiling, the mudguards in the doors... even the boxes on the geound... impossible how you keep coming up with all those different decorations. My least favorite is that main gate. Actually not the gate itself (but there isn't a clear picture of that), but more the surroundings. The lava is good, and the way is amazing. But those rocks are a tiny bit simple compared to the rest of e amazing build. But it ony shows you're human, and not some kind of super gifted, defected Lego designer. It only raises my appeciation for your genious.
  19. Thanks everyone, glad (most of) you like it! I may be a bad person, but I'm not stupid. Remember why comms were stopped? This is exactly what we expected. Rebels are just so simple-minded. See? We were prepared for this. Wait... how are you able to communicate with me? It must be your high rank... and about shooting those Rebs down: what else could I possibly be doing? I know exactly what you're talking about. We all had to make sacrifices on Tatooine, but yours was beyond imagination. Glad it didn't kill you, and you're here now to like my build. Thank you. And much strength. Maybe I'm not alone after all... Sure, that's why it's in small letters. Because I knew you would get attracted to that, master of LDD . Thanks for the... extensive comment though. Thanks. I love telling stories with my builds, and I like reading other stories just as much! It's nice to have a build with something more to it, and SoNE is just the excellent place to do that. I hope to see more entries and freebuilds with a nice story to them! Wouldn't it be nice if we could coordinate one big story, in which everyone makes a scene? Glad that once again, you like my micro building. It's what I do when I get stuck with the big parts, and it really helps to keep me going. And about that last sentence... I already told you what I think, my competitor. But one of us has been blogged, and the other hasn't been... at least we have you outnumbered by 2 against 1! You'll be crushed by our mighty numbers! Thanks for supporting me. Wow, this Empire is just one big family! I sought long after a nice smoke technique, since those icecream pieces don't connect in LDD and the 2x2 round plates tdidn't give the intensity I wanted... I even tried all sorts of contraptions with minifig hairpieces before arriving at this simple but effective technique. It turned out better then expected, and thank you for noticing it!
  20. My guess would be that the blue one would be sturdier, since a lever produces a greater force towards the fulcrum. So, if you keep the problem simple and don't look at whether those beams are better in compression or in bending, a rule of thumb could be: the farther you point of support is from the fulcrum, the more load it can hold.
  21. That antenna is definetly something new in the Star Wars universe , but still good looking, like the rest of your build. What surprises me most, is that this build gets away with using BURPs perfectly. Somehow, they fit in well, although topping those holed studs with plates/cheese slopes would've been better. At the top, it's a bit disturbing that the lava is in such a tidy pool... keeping it in with other lava that is fixed on the roof, or less geometric rocks would be better. Still, the lava is pretty great. Long live PaB! Untill you take the roof of an a dozen of them fall into your base I guess... The communication equipment is great, although it equiping the antenna with some kind of ladder or a console wouldn't be a bad idea, because now I don't have a clue how to maintain it. Or maybe it's about the hatch at the base of those pillars? Anyway, the room beneath it is very nice. The control pannel is as it should be, and with such a view through the window it's really distinct. Those railings help a lot too. And those greebles! You did really well there, and I've never seen something quite like it. I imagine it to be some kind of cooling equipment with all that lava above. The rest of the room is rather empty though, and it's a bit distracting to see all the different plates so clearly. Anyway, congratulations on the removable roof and that nice little hatch. Is there really a ladder beneath it?
  22. Nice! But isn't this basically mapping the picture to a sphere and then rotating it? In that case you could just as well use a 3d program like Blender is you're in a DIY mood. What would be really nice is actually walking through your build. You could export a model to say... Blender maybe? And animate the camera there for a real tour. Or you could do something like Google maps, where multiple of those panoramas are blended together...
  23. Yes, we know, the Empire WILL strike back! But despite all those little hints you've given, I still have no clue what it will be about... Because teasing leads to guessing. Guessing leads to suspense. Suspense... leads to excitement! The ways of the Force... of the organizers.
  24. I amways use the share button (the rectangle with the curved arrow pointing out of it), select the BBC-code, and paste it right into the Eurobricks text window. No need to go via the image button here, and you get a fancy title and all... No for the more exciting part: the build. The hexagonal hallway is nice, with all the control panels and ray shields (although in the DS, aren't there just normal dores instead of ray shields?). I am missing some grills in there however: that plain studded geound doesn't quite sell it for me... But Those bacta tank like windows indeed finish it off nicely, especially with those curved windows on top. It makes sense too, to surveil the prisoners. The rest of the equipment in the control room is really nice, and so Imperial with those consoles. The armory is a bit less, and I feel there's a lot of unused room here. Maybe some extra shelves with detonators or so would come in handy. Also, and this is a general remark, I would have liked to se the floor more decorated. You already tried some detailing with the walls, using those pillars for example and some relief bricks. You could take that to the ground as well, to give it more of an overall quality. So it's definetly not bad, but it could use some rendering too. And By the way: it might just e me, but I'm not quite etting how the title relates to this nice build.
  25. Last minute sure, but rubbish? No way! You did what you could with the time you had, and it leaves me wishing that you would've made it into something more. Can we still extend the deadline? Why? Because I like what you did in places, while in others you kept it pretty blank. Take the floor for instance. It has some great SNOT in it with those yellow markings, and that one dark grey stripe makes it even better. This stands in contrast to the wall. It's a bit too simple, and the shape isn't quite what I expected it to be. A white curved border would have been nice, and a larger piece of wall to enclose the hole more. That would give a chance to give the area more detailing too. The turret is nice, but lacks a bit of overall shaping to me... The barricade looks good though. That piece of lava and rock is pretty good actually. It really works, and again leaves me wanting for more... Hope next time you get the time to turn it into something really good!
