  1. Agreed. This thing is nearly as expensive as the CLAAS and yet it's only got around half the pieces. Yes, it has pneumatics, but as we can see from @Bricksley's photos there really isn't that much. Maybe those little red toolbox parts are more expensive than we thought...
  2. I'm talking about the blade on the cutting head of the vehicle, not the chainsaw, and how pointless its inclusion is. Although the chainsaw is pretty pointless as well.
  3. Well, Technic planes clearly can't fly (not within retail standards at least), but the larger sets do often feature ailerons and other such features that act like the real thing and would likely affect their performance when swooshed through the air. If the saw on 42080 doesn't do what the real thing does for the price point, then it shouldn't be there. TLG should have just made a straight-up forest crane instead.
  4. I actually can't think (off the top of my head, mind) of any other Technic set that so obviously misrepresents the functions therein. Yes, sometimes there's wheel blur or motion whoosh, but that merely means the set rolls. Yet 42080's box art clearly shows it performing something it in fact does not.
  5. Also false advertising, since the box art shows the saw slicing a log.
  6. No, I don't follow that at all. All the seat is meant to do is be in the cab. The saw, on the other hand, is supposed to have a function and yet it doesn't. So why is it there?
  7. Woah, the spoiler on this thing looks deadly! I can see a lot of garbage cans getting knocked over.
  8. Oh, sod it. Well, I stand by my point. And that makes the solid green in 42080 even more inexplicable. Maybe those parts are from a future set (John Deere, please!)
  9. No, the long solid green angled panels are from the 24h race car. And I forgot the dark orange gearwheels and small lime panels which are probably from a future set (more CLAAS, please!) or another theme. Ohhhhh, AND the silver hubs from Star Wars and Nexo Knights - what?! I know, I'm ranting. I hope you like it, @Bricksley! Nice job with the build and thanks for the pic!
  10. To me it looks cobbled together with leftovers from other sets such as 42039, 42054, and 42078. And TLG needed a vehicle for the new valves, so they tied it all together with those.
  11. Yup, fixed! Thanks @M_longer! And good job @Bricksley - gotta ask, does the saw actually slice the log when you fold the cutting head over?
  12. I'm more than okay with it. You don't need batteries this time around...
  13. This looks really good! I like your idea and the basic structure using the track units and outriggers is great. Looks like one to watch, no doubt.
  14. 42070 isn't All-Terrain either. Nor is 8435 4WD. TLG really seem to struggle with the whole "off-road" thing in particular.
  15. Looks like it all goes into the chassis and innards therein. It is massive and looks pretty sturdy. At least you don't have to disassemble it for the B.
