  1. Great work! The building is nicely done, with a nice architecture. And you have put a lot of great details inside!
  2. Thanks for blogging it Kristel! Seeing your MOC, it seems that you are demanding with yoursefl too, with nice and proper buidlings! Maybe I will try to rebuilt your dark green and tan house, which I love a lot! If I have your autorisation! It seems that the grey version was well loved! ^^
  3. Thanks for the replies! I like to share the process of creation, to show the work done on MOC, and that you don’t come with a good result with the first try. I have tried a lot of things to have some alignment, but without success. I understand what you explain, but I don’t like to put some 1x2 trans brick on a 1x2x5 one, because of the connection of the bricks, seeing the studs connections. I know that I’m very demanding! It was hard to reconcile the number of studs available from the ground floor and the upper floors. The curved tower doesn’t have the same number of studs in its right of way than the curved section of the ground floor, there were 5 studs between two pillars, except for the extreme basis, which was 6 (because I need a door in this section)… This is why I have reduced the number of pillars and the general style of building. I keep in mind a building with frame architecture, but for another MOC! Yes, I really like this kind of tower! Yours looks good too! I really like the light yellow with the white, that works very well! Yes it’s only a question of choice ! Not that easy to be so demanding with myself!
  4. I’m happy to show you my work on my latest modular building moc, which is my first corner house too ! It was a long time since I didn’t show you my work, the last presentation was in 2012 with an update of an older modular moc. So, I have in mind to make a corner house for a very long time, with this sketch drawn on paper : I would like to have a tower of windows and glasses, with a spherical roof on top, like I have in town. I would like to give it some touché of steel, in particular for the first floor, with studs visible, like bolts with metallic structure, and a porch roof covering the shop windows. After a first try, I came up with this : I was happy with the first floor, the porch roof, the tower, but not the rest. And particularly, I dislike the fact that the white steel posts weren’t aligned with the one of the store windows. The fact that I have some odd studs for the shop windows makes harder the way to make the other level and center the windows on walls. So, I decided to destroy the other floors and came up with this try : The result is smoother and looks better for me, with the white strips aligned from first floor to third one. But because I am a Cartesian man, I don’t like the fact that the frame made by the white strips don’t have the same number of studs : 6 for the bigger, 5 for the center and 4 near the tower. The difference between the smaller frames is not very visible, but I wasn’t satisfied by this. And this is why LEGO is so cool, you can change and try again and again to find what really satisfy you! With the snot technique used for the windows in walls, I had to change the color of the wall. Good by beloved red dark, hello more common dark grey. Not that bad after all. I spent some times without working on it, but I always had in mind this first floor and this tower and the question on how to make them compatible was still here. So I took the decision to modify my first floor, with less spots, giving me more flexibility for the upper floors. And I decided to give the building an asymmetric look, with a kind of second tower. I left the steel frame aspect and came up with a more organic architecture : I tried to put some “art nouveau” elements. I love “art nouveau” building, I live in a city with lots of this architecture. It’s not that easy to make this style with bricks, but I like personal challenges. The color scheme has changed too, with some more neutral aspect, using the always effective tan. And when I saw the news Elves fences in sand green, I couldn’t resist using them! So the sand green would be my secondary touch of color, enhanced with dark green on top of windows and on top of fences. And now the result, with the rear view, nothing really interesting, the minimum service: The general view : I would prefer some dark green 1x1 round plates instead of dark grey, for the tower, but those pieces don’t exist in this color. The front view from the regular front : The curved windows lakes some white prints to have the frame aspect, like the regular windows above. If TLC product this building, it will print it as special part for this set! ^^ The view from the asymmetric front: The porch under the second tower is made with sand green brick textured bricks That’s all for now, nothing inside this building, likein all my modular moc. Maybe one day… I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, even if my English goes bad, because of the lake of practice…
  5. Here some pictures of the hors bick that I have made seeing the pics and with the bricks I've got in stock :
  6. Nothing really news, exept the ferry and prison island. And TLC has finished to put some lanching "gun" in city sets, with aqua lancher from the firefigthers! We just have to wait to see the pics, and be patient (I am), to schedull the 2016 byuing plan.
  7. Great job! I really like the fact that you don't need to put too many details on your buildings to make then clever! They look quite simple, but nicely worked! The general coloours of the scene are very nice, they all go well together. And those minifigs in the street add a lot of life to your town! It seems to be a very nice place to live in! And I like to have this feeling!
  8. Always a pleasure to read your minifigs series review WhiteFang! Thanks a lot for that nice work! Even if I'm not that a big fan of the Simpson, I want them all! I really like the new soda cup with the straw and the catapult!
  9. I have bought this set yesterday and I notice that the head of the policeman has brown bear en the box and instruction but come in black in real. Nothing really bad, because I already have this head in brown, so it's always welcome to have some diversity in colors. It seems that it's a little mistake from LEGO. By the way, it's a nice little set if you want some bad guys and an alligator without spending so much money!
  10. Gaut1202, I will post pictures when the building will be done. But I have to finished to sort my bricks before, to knwo in which colour my 2CV will be!
  11. Wow! Really great buiding! I really like the look of your 2CV AND the fact that it seems strudy and playable! Thaks a lot for sharing your creation with instructions! My town will now have its iconic french car!

    My city story

So, after a very long time, I post some new pics. Nothing really news, just some modifications on my old modular buildings. The idea of those modifications was to make them more productible, like official LEGO Modular Product. So, in each modulars, I have made a more standard floor that can be duplicated to make the building taller. The changes are minors, but it gave me some work! My yellow town house : My Pub : My art nouveau building :
  13. Your building is really really nice! Another great creation from you! I really like the white entry, the way you used the 5x6 trans panels with smaller windows, the stripped 1x2 bricks. To be very exigent, maybe I will have used some white 1x2 grilled tiles instead of grey. And for the roof section, instead of putting the 2 curved bricks in the middle of the section, I will put them on top of the 2x2 tiles columns, but it's seems really hard to do, because of the even and odd sections (I don't know if it's clear!). The details inside are really great and lovely to : it's colorfull but not too much, very well detailed and very well executed! Great work here!

    Legoville

I realy envy you Werlu Ulcur, with your LEGO room! It's nice and funny to see how you have done the room and how you ocupy it! I really hope that one day I will have such a room!
  15. Wow ! I have to admit that the first time I read about the Parisian Restaurant, I was exited but also afread. I have so many hopes for a very nice modular buildings, so my deception could be as important ! Even the last two modular buildings weren’t so bad, I didn’t like them like Café Corner or Green Grocery : less architectural details, less special construction bidlings. I’m so happy with those first pictures! I can’t imagine having such a nice set ! hi sis definitly my favourite modular building ! Sorry Café Corner, it seems that there is finnaly a chalenger for the first place ! The architectural details are really great, the general look is very clever. There are so many things to look at tha you don’t know where to start looking at ! The terrasse on the street, the entrance of the restaurant, the menu (written in feench !) the « chez Albert » logo with a Eiffel Tower A looking, the details on the facades, the lovely roof, the firts floor terrasse and all those details inside ! Everythings look cossy, smart, giving you the envie to leave here ! This set has its own story and ambiance. I did’nt have this feeling for a set since a ling time ! Jamie and his team have made a very incredible peace of art for me ! As a French guy, I really like the « cliché » put in this set : in each picture, there is a bottle of wine, we find some croissants, some cheese in the fridge, the artist studio in the roof ! But why no bagette, no frogs in the dish, no beret ! But these are really minor things of course ! Even if I really like the olive green, it’s not really a parisian color (more tan, dark tan, caramel, brick) but it’s very welcome for me ! I need two of this set for sure, to have a second floor and give it a more impressive look. Can’t wait to put my hand on it ! Now I just want to build again some modulars, after a poor year of envy ! And a scooter, so nice!
  16. Thanks a lot Mr. Fang for this great review, as always! I always wating for your minifigs serie reviews. We can discover those lovely minifigs with their great accessories! Keep the good job!
  17. Congratulation to all the winers! And to the EB staff, without whom this contest would not have been, thanks for the organisation and the nice prizes. It was a funny month!
  18. We've got some great entries! Here my choice : 15. Chicken Moonbase - vecchiasignoraceppo - 1 Really great! I like finding the same identifiable look in each buildings, with a nice touch of fun! 22. Pigs VS Cows - Ninja Nin - 2 A farm war in a near future! Nice army for the pig and very fun mecha for the cows! we need some goats in a future faction! 31. Chicken Case - bloei - 1 What I like is the feeling of revenche from chiken on humans, sad laught! 34. Bovine Avenger - Sifercot7 - 1 It would be more sadistic with human instead of alien! The vehicule is very well done and makes me dizzy! Good luck everyone!
  19. So many entries, and so many great ones! Not that easy to choose, but here we go : 6. Ice Planet Colony - Dark_Alamez - 1 I really like Ice planet colour scheme, and you have made a great hommage to this old theme. 13. Invasion! - 4estFeller - 1 Very sleak design for the ship and nice explosing effect! 27. Research Base Kappa - J4ke - 1 I don't really know why, but I like the fealling of this! 65. Planet Express - Oky - 1 It looks really cartoony for me, and I like it! 72.The City of Tomorrow - touthomme - 1 It looks like the city of the future that we imagined in the past, a futuro-retro city, very well done! Good luck!
  20. 13. Emma - 1 LEGo doesn't made so many farms, and a wintery version would be nice! 16. Darkblane - 1 Great looking building and addon, like the nice truck. 18. Priovit70 - 1 What a really charming place, the general look is just awsone! 33. vecchiasignoraceppo - 1 Like for Darkblane, great looking building and addon, like the nice truck, with the same spirit as the official winter sets. 39. Cara - 1 A snowy trainstation wouldd be nice too! I particulary like the steal section in black, very well done! Good luck! Even if the winter village series doesn't really appeal to me, we have some great entries here!
  21. This contest gives me other idea to build other things than houses!
  22. Thanks a lot! I would like to build something fun in its design but without making it breackable and brittle. It had to stay in one piece when you play with it. And to add more with the playability aspect, I thought that making a convertible vehicule was nice! After that, I have made a lot of tests in the design to come with it : it's not that easy to have something beautifull, playable, and sturdy! Thanks a lot! I'm glad that if I have fooled you! Even if I like some line like Alien Conquest, Galaxy Squad, Castle and Pirates, I don't build mocs from those theme and stay in Town. This kind of contest is just perfect to me, making my buidling experience a lot more "out of my traditionnal tracks", which is really fun! And thanks for all the other comments! And now my BS gallery is public!
  23. Here my entry to the FAPC contest. I'm not a space builder, but I really have fun building this Bananatank ! Now, you will not see the monkeys with the same way than before... Be careful poor human, my rotating gun will hurt you! You can't stop me, I can transform my tank into a Flying Banana! For more bananapics, just have a look here!
  24. I will enter! I just need to finish my entry!
  25. Woaaaa! Nice looking train, the french TGV is now turned officially in LEGO! And in it's nice orange color! That remind me when I was a child, my mother, who works at the SNCF (the french train company) has shown us it in real, it was very impressive! I had to wait some years to take it, making Paris-Marseille in only 3 houres, and the driver saying after 30 minutes "our train is on its hightspeed, 300km/h". It was fantastic! Nostalgia aside, TLC has made a very nice looking train, and I think tha lot of people will probably buy two copies of this set to have a complete TGV. It will be my case! They have put some nice details inside and outside, like the two white arrow (in place of TGV letters), with cheese slopes. Great work, you have made my day TLC!
