So, I’m glad to share with you another step pf my town layout story. This time, it’s not about houses, but street sections. After spending a lot of time on my buildings, I decided to take a moment on the streets. In fact, a city couldn’t be a great city without public furniture, flowers and roads ! In 2009, remember, I have already work on the pavement of my street. In fact, I don’t like how TLC made the pavements in the modular buildings line. And with LEGO, you can change what you don’t like ! So I have found a module, that used upside-down gives a more random look, even if it’s a regular module : But with all the modulars I have, with the official ones and my owns, I need a lot of straight road. And damned, TLC send only one straight with a crossed one. Damned, I will have a lot of crossed road, without any utility. So, some straight roads, I hurt my fingers with all of those dark grey tiles to put on ! Hopefully, I have some 1x2 plates to put too, and 2x2 tile with one centered stud. In fact, I want to have some modular road plates, with which you can put some street furniture and so on, without any effort. The 1x2 plates on each sides are here to attache the road sections between them, with a street lamp for example. And the other studs can fix flowers, garbage, fire hydrant and so on. The result of the street sections is for a crossed one : And for a straight one : After that, I worked on bus station, which need to be not too big and not too small to feet in the street. After some works and tries, I came up this this bus stop : I also made some garbage : Fire hydrants, simple but enough effective for me (some times, simplicity is your best friend!) : I need to put some touch of green in my town. Those flowerpot will help a little : Like those other flowers sections, in two kind of colors, for more diversity : Seeing the Gostbuster headquarters, I find the traffic light great and effective. So, I decided to duplicate it. I just add some flowers for a greener street and that’s all ! And without forgetting some traffic lights for pedestrians and other road signs : I also need some benches, and find a nice way to make them one day on a picture of a moc (don’t remember the source…), so I decided to reproduce them, Now, my minifigs can sit and have a quiet moment ! And I have enough white street lamps to fix all my road plates together. But I fall in love with a black version, from New Elementary,and couldn’t resist to reproduce them as well. Don’t you find them beautiful ? Just note that the base of the street lamp ha changed, with only 4 notches instead of the 6 for the older version, making it less beautiful IMO. And what a street without some trees? TLC never bring me some decent beautiful trees. It’s not that easy to make some nice ones, enough sturdy with a nice look. I have made some tries some years ago, remember, with those kind of trees : Time has past and TLC bring us a so wonderful part, like the new stalk piece ref 19119. Maybe it’s one of my favorite new part from 2015! So I tried to use this, and made a lot of versions. In fact, I wanted to build a tree that is enough sturdy, without small parts falling down (even if we are in autumn ^^!). And I’m quite happy with the result! Now it’s time to show you how all those elements go together. I have taken some pics to do so. Just note that I don’t have put some corner buildings just only because I don’t take the time to find them in my boxes. Firstly, some pics with one of all the element presented above : And finally, some pics with a touche of life, with some minifigs and cars, just to see how it looks in situation : So, this is just 1/3 of all my road plates I have made this way. We can image to have some other element to put in the street, like newspaper boxes, little food stands, a phone box and more ! Just let your imagination works ! Haaa! Finally! I was waiting for your review Whitfang! Event if I have seen other reviews on the net, i wanted yours! I like this tradition and would miss read it for nothing! Thanks to take the time to do it, it's always well appreciated! I hesitated to launch a warming message, just to be sure that you're still alive and minifigs series lover! ^^ I like this series, which is good, with nice heads, theme, parts and 2 new animals! I couldn't ask more! I can't wait to have this series in my hand (I d'ont have seen it in shops around me...).

Thanks Jamesn! I'm waiting for some pieces to finish my street section, and I'm now working on a bring new 16x32 modular town house in art nouveau style, once againe! One new aspect of my latest creations, is that I don't limit my buiding with my bricks that I have in stock like before. Now that I have discovered Bricklink, (well I know it for long, but I decided to buy on only it few month ago... I know that I will never start doing this!) it's easyer to finalise some nice details with the right colours!

Great moc! I like the atmosphere of your street, renforced by the fact that the two buidings are close from each other. Nice details outside and lot of the inside, very well done!

After more than two years, it’s time to give some news about me, or more interesting I hope, my town! I read this topic after a time not doing so, and I realize that I have started it 10 years ago, and I’m still working on my layout since I was a child, for more 25 years! I think that it will never end! I quite like this idea, maybe I’m crazy! At today’s point, I have finalized some new modular buildings and can show you a general view of my street here. Sorry not to post pics directly, I don’t have put them on BS or flickr, so the size doesn’t fit the rules of EB forum… Only people who takes the time to read carefully will see them, maybe if they clic on the link. Back on track! Here some particular modular MOC that I have made from the past months : - A townhouse that comes from the LEGO videogame minifigures, which I played with during its free time. With minors modifications, like a pub. - An art deco version of the official Palace cinema modular. - A more modern building with a gas station on the first floor. The picture doesn’t show the final version, it’s still in work, without all the good colours. - A corner building, with a garage section down the street. - Another corner building, with a touch of “art nouveau”. I quite like the color scheme used, I’m proud of this baby! And after the buildings, I’m working on the street section. 2016 is year of street rendering for me! I’m working on LEGO street baseplates and want a modular aspect, with section to put some streetlamps, flowers, trees, roadsigns, bus stop, in a modular way. Here just a quick view of a tree and here of a bus stop. I hope to share with you those street sections until 2018 the end of the year! And sorry for my English, which goes increasingly bad, not practicing it a lot…

Once againe, a really nice moc from you! Nice color scheme, nice architectural details for thos art deco buidings, and nice choice for the minifigs wears and hairs! That looks really nice and smooth, as your style is!

Nice work Snaillad! Have your really seen such a bakery in real? I mean, it looks so funny that would be great!^^ I like the general look of this creation. Like your other mocs, it's really smooth and clean, with nice used with curved bricks, which gives a not so cubic feeling. I can smell some coffee and toasted bread just looking at your pictures! Great job, funny and cool, with your nice and recognizing way to build!

What a nice gaz station! Like the others, I like the '60 feeling, which you have captured very well. Your moc is well done, with nice details, built in a very nice and cute way. You used some Fabuland parts in a very nice way, which doon't ake them too strange in the more classic LEGO "system" style. As you used some new parts, like the Vespa. ANd all those old an new parts live together without visual time differences. The colours are good too, The addition of the truck, in a 4 stunds wide and classic style, is a very nice touch too, and gives your moc a complete feeling. You proove, with this creation, that you don't need to use hundred and hundred of bricks to make some gorgeous moc. And that some relative symplicity is better than complexity which is not well controled.

Another great work from you! I like the fact that you smash up some classic buildings with a modern one. The colours look great together. The tiled fronts for the modern house look modern ^^. And so many lovely details here and there, like a nice use with the new Ninjago sword body. ANd last but not least, you have put some nice details and furnitures inside! Special laught for the cellar, using the brick separators as buffer! A good way to use them when you have so many of them and you don't want to throw them because they are LEGO parts! The pictures with all your layout, with small streets, life everywhere, give me envy to go here for a week end of travel! I definitivaly like your building style!

And last, I don't have brown and dark red 1x1 round plate with holed strud.

Thanks for thie great review of another great series! I quite like all those new figs, with some nice new accessories and of course, the new animal! What I like in Minifigure series is that we have all universes (city, castle, space and so on) in one place. When I was younger, it was hard for me to choose between a theme, so I tried to have some sets from each themes, with the more representative figures and specific parts. And those series are exactly in this way! So, ok, I don't have all the Castle sets and I'm not the bigger Castle fan and/or collector, but I'm quite happy to have my representation of this line in my collection. Adding some diversity from each themes is for me always good! I can't wait to put my hand on this series! You're pictures are always good, even if the white pieces are not visible with the white background, but it's a really minor details. Thanks to take the time to share this with us!

So, I start to work on the real brick version of this Kabob stand. After a look at this LDD file, it seems that the way it's build is not possible. In fact, the two rounded pieces on front of the stand are connected that way : I have put them in trans colour to show that it's not possible. And I don't know how LLD permits such a thing, because other time, this software doesn't allow us to make some impossible bricks combinations... By the way, I will post some pics of the stand in few days.

Those 2016 Technic sets looks more unusual than previous years, maybe because of the more bright colors and choice of vehicules, less common. Good or bad choice, it will depend on the personnal taste of people. I'm not a Technic fan, but 2015 was for me a Technic year, with the buy of two big sets, the Volvo L350F and Merco Arocs. My latest Technic buy was the 8462 tow trck in 1998 and I want an update Technic session, with new motors and pneumatic system. Those new sets don't appeal to me that much because of the kind of vehicules, even if I like the colours and the fact that they don't look that bad. The new copter looks great, and remind me of the old 8856 whirlwind rescue from 1991, which looks really angular and not that big now (it was my first big Technic set!). Maybe I will wait more than 15 years before buying a Techni set! ^^ By the way, don't wait this time to make more such nice reviews!

I have the movie in dvd and started to make some print screan on my PC to see the detail in a better way. Because at the theater, it was impossible to look at the "actors" and to see all the nice background. And you've made this work of encyclopedy here!

What a great job Xon67! Thanks for sharing! You must know the LEGO movie by heart! You've done an amazing job! And it's fun to see how the movie makers used some "regular" sets in the movie, with some modifications. It's relly instructive. If you have some instructions or a better view of the Kebab stand, I'm here!

I don't know why, but I like the asian architecture style. Maybe because of its zen feeling, I have this feeling. In the Ninjago line, I don't like that much the cars, bickes and other robots. But the destiny bounty (ref 70738) or the hybrifd jet (ref 70735) really appeals to me. I don't know why. Maybe due to the color scheme, the general design, which looks really great, with nice curves and a strong appealing feeling, even if I am not into the tv show. The latest wave is very excellent from my point! And the bad gsot ninjas look gorgeous too, with some nice colors too! A very nice wave, which catch the eyes, more than the first wave from 2015. Back to the temple, even if we are not into Ninjago, we can find this set very nice, like the Medievla market in its time. It could be seen like an asian version of the medieval market, targeted Ninjago for the fan of the licence, but not only. This is the adventage of a stand alone set like this one!

Nice review Whitefang! It doesn't matter that the reviwe only comes now, until we have a review of quality. It was funny for me to read it today, because I have just finished building mine! So, I completely agree with you about the beauty of the set, the nice details and accessories, all the things to look at! It was a really nice building experience! I am not into Ninjago, but I have to admit that the Final bounty and those brick built dragons really appeal to me. So, that temple too! It's really a very beautiful display set, with some nice play features too! I really enjoyed buidling it. Some times, you don't knwo what you do, you don't see why you do what the instruction shows. And at the end, you understand! And I like when the designers bring us with special way. I found that there are some details that are not really perfect, like the black roof of the blacksmith shop, with hole near the star leaf. Another exemple, the way the sand green walls were made just under the uper roof, not perfet. But finally, all those small "imperfections" make this set a great pleasur to look at, giving it a real "man made" village, not perfet, but with a lot of humanity. It's hard to explain, I hope that you will understand. It's a very huge masterpiece, and you don't know where to look at : the bridge, the statue, the olver green grass (so great in this color!), the leaves on roof, the golden ring fo details, the way the roof of the temple is made. The real bad point are the stickers. With this price tag, we could have printed pieces instead. After finished to build it I spent some times today looking at it, making me feeling zen and wanting to be a minigif to leave here!
