Fear not, the battle packs will probably be like old school: http://brickset.com/...le-Mini-Figures I was so happy to get two of these back in the day and proud to say they are mint. One way to get villagers eh? Chances are they could incorporate villagers with battle packs and fulfill an item on our wish lists.

Totally agree with you. That is what I was hoping for. This new theme will be either epic win or a total fail. Even now the $200 sets are out of reach for me at times. A good paying job would certainly makes it much easier. Your point however is a very good one. As a kid I really wanted the Black Sea Barracuda (1989) but it was just too darn expensive for my parents to get. I hope TLG realises that the real reason they are doing so well is middle aged AFOLs like myself, who are buying their products for ourselves and their kids. (I don't have kids but I see many that do) For the topic at hand. I really would like some concrete information right about now. I've been following this thread ever since it started and I would like to have my imagination rewarded by an epic theme that I will say to myself 'I totally have to buy these sets!'.

Any Bespin sets coming our way will undoubtedly have a Lando figure. TLG haven't done one in many years so it would make sense. For example, the X-wing and Y-Wing sets from 2012 TLG included extra figures like Porkins and Alderaan Leia. Older Star Wars Lego sets I highly doubt will be removed in the wake of episode VII sets. TLG is sticky about their displays especially at stores like Wal-Mart. I worked there when the prequel movie merchandise was being released. More likely they will be asked to have separate newer displays for the new products in the aisles.

Very excited to see what these new sets will look like. I was surprised to see a new fire boat as they did one in 2013 and it wasn't a big seller. Thankfully I got one! I like the odd non popular sets as they are unique that way. The ambulance plane and ferry rescue boat sound cool and the mysterious prison island. I wonder if the ferry boat will be the size of a car ferry?

This is an awesome scene! Love it! Excellent techniques with the stain glass windows and chandelier. How did you get everyone in the scene to be in such awkward positions? I too wish forest men would make a come back. Loved that subtheme

I feel the same way. There are other current sets on my want list. However it is really a good feeling to know you finally have it. My Green Grocer is lacking the regular blue arches on the awning and that is the only part I am not happy about as I feel it is the iconic part to the set. (I am determined to acquire them) Otherwise I only had to substitute two other parts - 1x8 Sand Green bricks and the Train windows which doesn't affect the look or the building process. Right now I am trying to start the process of ordering Market Street and Medieval Market Village 10193. Usually we all see sets we like but for other reasons wasn't a Lego priority at the time and later regret not getting it. To buy the set may be cheaper but after the shipping and custom duties it is better to build it from scratch. Also much more fun! I'm with Fred67 on this. Market Street can be adjusted without sacrificing the authenticity of the set. There are better parts to use than when this first came out. I did not understand why the designer (fan) used tan bricks instead of windows on the back. The doors and hoses are outrageous for prices. I will mod my Market Street to reflect current parts. I am a purist but I have a limit, like TheLegoDr stated, why spend so much money on a specific part when you could be buying a new set? I realised looking at Fred67's image of MS one could use 72mm hose instead of the old hoses. Not sure how it would look but offers an alternative.

Once upon a time toy manufactures could not produce animated or TV shows relating to their products. However in the 80's they relaxed the legislation and toys like GI Joe and Transformers were able to have their cartoons to compliment the toy line. Ever since then most toys manufacturers invariably have a TV show to promote their products to kids. The marketing model really does work. I'm not keen on anything steam-punk related either. I am a purist and love my knights and baddies. Normally we do hear of products for January by now. My guess then is the new line will be huge and they are keeping information tightly wrapped.

It would be awesome if Lego Legends did return! I do not own the Haunted House either. I've heard TLG customer service mention about sets possibly returning before. However I have yet to see it happen. If you really like the set you could always start from scratch and collect the parts to build one yourself. It actually is more enjoyable doing that way for sets you are passionate about. I would't have said Monster Fighters was a failure. It like other lines test the market to see if it does well. Most of the time these are just a one off series for the year. (like Scooby Doo)

I really like what you did with the head and mid section. After building the newest AT-AT (75054) I realized the design was very similar to the original AT-AT (4483). I enjoyed the fact that your design made a proper area for the Snowtroopers to stand. The only thing I would've done differently is not tiled the sides as the studs are also attractive. Is your head piece mounted to the body in the same way as existing AT-AT sets?

I would have to agree, I watched the video and I don't think it will be a UCS set. There just isn't enough there to justify it as UCS. It may be a regular set not unlike 75014 Battle of Hoth from 2013. The Ewok village certainly qualifies itself as UCS as it is substantial. (though I don't own it... )

That's because for my character he was acting as the bishop to the lion king but in reality he controls the dragon fraction. Defeat from within. Shouldn't take things too literally.

Really liking the way you made the head portion of the AT-ST. Great work!

It is not that bad. The Lego Group updates element IDs frequently. I can't recall the specifics but the element ID number is broken down to denote a few processes. Usually I use the design ID as they aren't updated as often when looking up parts on BnP unless of course I know what set has the part I'm looking for. I have spoken to Customer Service before about the BnP pages having issues as there are times they show a part out of stock and they have plenty in stock! Maybe there is a disconnect between sections in the line of communication? It's one of those moments were I wish I knew more about the background processes as I would love to help them with improvements.

I hope it's more about the type of siege engines from the series and not another band of four Knights/ninjas like Ninjago. I will have to see it to believe it. Not every idea from TLGs dark age was a good one...if any. Maybe we will be shown something at Comic-Con?

Thank you Knight_40k. Unfortunately I do not at the moment as they barding for horses and the horses themselves were too expensive. Perhaps a future project.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Wodanis replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Personally I enjoy a good interior as well as the exterior, the more detailed the better. Really it is a non issue as one can just gut the building if one intends to make your own furniture. The benefits of Lego building! I need to get this set in order to find out. Most of the time it is just a cost saving measure. Usually when you come across a set that is reusing parts, for example using two 1x4 plates instead of a 1x8 plate, it is because using 1x8 would 'cost more' in terms of how the set goes down the assembly line. It is easier for the machines to dispense the 1x4 plates if you are already have them in the set (same colour) than re-calibrating it to dispense the other part. You will see this with smaller City sets where they use the same part instead of a separate one. Logically we ask ourselves why as it doesn't make sense build wise. The other instance I see this happening is where a designer uses specific parts so that a model is easier to take apart. (1x8 plate with two 1x4 plates on top of it.) So no one has really heard any rumours to what the new modular will be? What do you want to bet they will have a Police station since I have one on Lego Ideas...would be just my luck -
I will totally be spending the money to acquire the pirate polybag! It's just like the classic sets they used to do in the early 90's. I'm curious as to what the VIP exclusive set for August will be?

I totally agree. I think the mini-figure is perfect that way it is. It is quite iconic! Over complications and extra details take away from a design rather than enhance it. I thought the Technic figures were cool back in 1987. They could do a revival of them but I am not sure how they would fit into the line now.

I surmise the only other reason is to use stickers on the parts such as the 1x2x2. Most of the time a new mould comes out to replace the older ones. Keep in mind most of the older moulds have been around for 20 years or better! I've noticed numerous parts that have been upgraded the past two years. Which is most welcome as some needed that extra bit of stability to the part. Other times they just come out with a better piece. Look at the way City ball caps for mini-figures have changed. In the 80's and 90's they had a really long brow and this was shortened in the newer version, now the part has shifted to a more authentic looking ball cap. In 2013 the City construction helmet was designed with a hole in the top in order for the headphones to attach. The mould changed again in 2014 as they realised it was quicker to have moulded the construction helmet with the headphones as one part than two separate. (Bear in mind TLG has now become more capable in moulding parts with more than one colour.) It makes the process more efficient. Instead of having two machines producing separate parts they use one! I admit the bricks 1x1x3 and 1x2x3 or 1x2x2 annoy me. I'm an old school builder and prefer to use more parts when building. It raises the level of satisfaction. Of course there is a cost issue but when I think about Lego I don't think of 'cheating' parts like these.

Just picked up the new Flash Speeder, AT-AT and Naboo Starfighter. All of which I enjoyed very much. The Flash Speeder was superb and I'm looking forward to getting the Imperial Shuttle Tydirium next month.

[MOC] 1/65 Scale Tower of Orthanc with full interior
Wodanis replied to Ryuuroden's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Broke the piggy bank on this one! I can't believe the scale, bravo! Very impressed. -
Thank you BrickSev. I tried to be as original as possible with making my characters. I won't take credit for the mace as another member of EuroBricks thought of it in his MOC. However I liked it very much.

Hi Everyone, I used to be a collector of Castle as a kid and when I finally came out of my second dark age I was very fond of the Dragon Knights from 2011-2012. Unfortunately I was so busy buying up Star Wars and City sets I had little money to spend on Castle and missed out. This was a summer project of sorts to build up small faction armies. The cost of these mini-figures was pricey especially for shields so I had to limit things a bit however I think my new army turned out well. There are 61 figures in total. I did not include the photo of the two peasants I made. I have all my old forest men and Falcon/Lion knights in storage. When I get around to it I will try to take photos of them. I am still working on my light box and so these were done with a makeshift version, forgive the quality. I present to you my Dragon Knights, English Lions and French Lioness armies with Kings. I've uploaded these larger photos on my flickr account.

Nothing wrong with classic heads for Lego Castle. I just made a bunch of Castle figures with that in mind. I agree one can over design someone but I doubt this would be the case with Castle for 2016. I'm not into making the new line LoTR-esc. Really it's wish fulfilment. LoTR is dead. I don't mind having the new mini-figures similar to 2010-2013 as long as the sets are exciting and unique. I suspect if it is indeed fantasy then we will get some fun mini-figures as there are numerous moulds to utilize now. A nicely design castle would be grand. Something to really take a few hours to build. A good castle after all is a staple to the line.
