Defective Lego Wall-E Getting Scrapped.
Wodanis replied to gundambob's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It is a true shame to see all those sets being destroyed. Hell if they don't want them I will gladly take them for their parts, never mind the boxes. That is the thing with Lego, it is meant to be reused and kept for ages... -
Hi, I know where it is. I visited there before they moved in! It is on 8-10 New Fetter Ln, London, United Kingdom. There are two '10' Fetter Lanes on that street so don't get confused.

I think our question to this thread has shifted. We should ask is the traditional Castle theme relevant to today's kids? Nexo Knights obviously modifies Castle to a Sci-fi theme to make it palpable. Personally I would love the traditional Castle theme to return. I have no time for indulgences in discussions about Zelda (never will happen, it is a zombie issue) nor LOTR (a licensed theme that has run its course). I love my classic Castle, but do kids want to play with this theme the way we used to? Is it a case of kids preferences today or the lack of providing a great theme to get kids interested in it? I think the latter is a more risky strategy so TLG takes the former strategy and produces Nexo Knights, Chima, Ninjago etc. I sincerely wish we had a full fledged Castle theme without gimmicks but I don't think TLG see enough of a market for it with kids today. I don't really know what our answer will be for whether we will have Future Castle sets but it doesn't look like anything is on the horizon for awhile unless Nexo Knights fails...

In answer to your question, yes BnP orders are shipped from Denmark to North America. Expect cool, clean and crisp new parts. Ah, Refreshing! Some of the operators in Customer Service were a bit confused about BnP service shutting down for the holidays. They usually do this to catch up with orders that have been placed and to allow for shipments from their factories to replenish part inventories. So fear not about your existing orders! I had been asking if they would stay open this year but sadly no. Looks like I will be waiting on my projects till February now...

For the most part pieces will be out of stock either because they literally ran out and will not replenish stocks (older part) or they are into their reserve stock for missing/broken parts stock. If the part is still current (ie in another current set) than they will have more stock made but have to wait for a shipment to the warehouse. Usually in Jan and late December this will occur. I wasn't able to order the minifigure parts for making medieval market village for example as they no longer produce them, but I did manage to get 90% of the parts from TLG. Glad you have your GG parts ordered. It is a great feeling when everything comes together! That's brilliant if that is the reason though problematic for our big orders
-
Customer service only allows you about 10-15 different types of parts over the phone and the quantity is 200 per type of piece. The reason for this, is when you order over the phone it takes more time with the customer service agent. It's easy to take an hour with one customer! They have been changing their practices over the past year or so as I call them often. It is best if you have the spreadsheet with your parts in front of you when you order with the Element and Design IDs handy. Makes the process of ordering much faster for them and they will be more inclined to have leeway with your order. If you get a newbie who just started working there expect to have to make that follow up phone call with your order. Usually you can request to place your order on hold and make another call to add more to your order. I also have complained to them a few times now about the browser issues when ordering online. Glad to know that I am not the only one having the same issues. That is a good idea but make sure you have the most up to date element IDs.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
Wodanis replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
All in all I am really happy with the new series. The Shark Guy is definitely my favourite. I can't wait to get my hands on the Animal Control officer, Pig farmer and the knight. -
It would be even better if they just updated the colour labels to TLG's versions. Not sure which colours you would find illogical?
-
Just to reiterate, the colour for the base for Green Grocer is Earth Green. Dark Green is the normal 'green' colour the old 32x32 base plates were. Bricklink uses a practical method to describe their colours which I find rather confusing because I memorized the colour palette from Lego.

I did use the new ski version with my CC. It works out the same just have to space it accordingly. The blue is noticeable once you lift up the floors to look at it. To answer an earlier question, PAB orders are 17-22 days and BnP orders are 10-14 days for delivery. (At least to Canada) As I have mentioned in this thread before PAB are shipped from TLG facility in Poland and BnP from Denmark respectively.

Having done this it's better to get most parts from Lego directly and the odd part you can't through Bricklink. By the time you find a seller with some of the parts you need and factor in fees/shipping costs/exchange rates it can cost a lot more. Start off with the unique parts first, then worry about the 'bricks and plates' afterwards.

This is really impressive. I can only really say, please post more photos! The design work gone into this is amazing. The stage decorations and the seating is even more dramatic when one realises you weren't using digital designer! Having lived in London and knowing the building it is a delight to see someone took the time to recreate in Lego. Bravo!

Really like your chic cafe design. The garage door parts to use with the folding door is a nice touch. You've been pretty creative with your part usage. I enjoyed this! Good work!

I like the simplification of the water fountain and definitely gives me ideas to use my white picket fences! This looks fun to create!

How do you dust between the studs on LEGO?
Wodanis replied to The Steward's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Paint brushes leave scratches on my Lego. It is painstaking but I use an emery cloth (for glasses) and go stud by stud. It is quite effective and doesn't leave marks on my plates or bricks. Cleaned all my old Lego sets that way. My new stuff I tend to cover with a pillow case to prevent dust build up while on display. Eventually they get broken down and 'bagged and tagged' till I build them again. -
Photos are all down and so is MOC pages with the images...

You're right about that. Wouldn't it be nice if TLG made a 'modular building' series of castle/village structures for us AFOLs? I'm sure there would be a market for it.
-
I've had no issues with Brickset when putting together lists to remake a set from scratch. Now and then they will list duplicate parts as the element ID will have been updated verses the old one. I try to be a thorough as possible before I begin to order so I weed out any discrepancies like this.

I am excited about the new version of the Toy Shop. I didn't get any of the Winter Village sets when they were out, though I eyed them longingly. The people who already have this set should be happy as they will now have some extra money in their pockets for other Lego deals. If TLG re-makes the Cafe Corner I would get that too! I believe they would add an interior in a remake. I think some of us on the forums have just proven there is indeed a market for remakes of sets. I wouldn't be harsh with TLG for their choice this year. It can be hard to keep up with all the releases.

i can confirm that my local walmart will have the Episode 7 sets in the next week or so. i saw the modular sheets that listed the sets, First Order snowspeeder, Poe Dameron's X-Wing etc.

Are we certain that Nexo Knights aren't just a new action theme and not the new Castle theme? I get there are many resources put into Nexo Knights but based on what Brick Jagger said could we not have two 'Castle' themes? One that is Fantasy Era 2 and the other based on KK2 but for action? I am thinking these could be constraction figures. Similar to the new Star Wars line and the old Super Heroes line.
-
This is an amazing winter scene. I have enjoyed watching you develop it over the past two years. I would love to try my hand at this.
-
Nexo Knights sounds alright to me. Guess the 'steampunk' influence reflects the idea of a Robo-Horse. The theme seems to have Ninjago style with the flying discs. Have to wait for some images to pop up to see if they look good. I'm kinda picturing the theme is similar to Agents...
-
There is no reason why the new line would not incorporate these ideas. Personally I do not want coloured knights like Ninjago but I suspect that is what will happen to make discernible characters. They could do four different factions and the knights would have to team up and work together to defeat a fifth faction. Heraldry could use Dragons, Boars, Deer, Wolves, Gryphons, Lions, or even Unicorns. Each faction then would have a certain look to their castles, siege engines etc.
-
The new winter set will likely be $90-100 range. I haven't seen Winter sets cheaper than that. As for GRogall, I am glad he is still around and I can only assume he has to be discreet as he works for TLG. Hence the disappearance and why he doesn't say much on the release of sets, unless authorized.
