I would rather say that the studless parts are less sturdy / more flexible. But generally, the studless model are so much stronger than studful models. I mean take a studless model and drop it in the stairs. The model has more or less no damage. Now, do the same with a studful mo... no don't do that. You don't want to see the result. Studless beams are obviously much cheaper to produce because they are can be made with a simple mold. But they are also square shaped (well, it is not exactly a square, but regarding a construction, it does not make any difference and it can be considered as square shaped). Eventually, they have round ends, which is a very very big asset in order to build in tricky direction. Something you can barely do with studful Technic bricks.

Makorol's creations
Anio replied to Makorol's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello Makorol, I really appreciate your MOCs. Indeed, you take your time to built each part carefully, and no matter how small details can be, you pay attention to all of them. In the end, your work is always well executed. I like that !- 10 replies

Thank you. Well, to be honnest, I did not look at the toys story truck when I did my model. And until you mentionned it, it was a model I barely remembered. I worked with that single pic :

Oh, sorry, I see. I could indeed have made this instead of prefab. Though, the prefab has the advantage of being very simple regarding the built. It may sound kind of meh to you, but a simple built is important to me. :)

Woo, that would be a big trailer ! ^^ My goal was just to make a small transport truck you know. ^^
-
Well, the cargo is not the key part of the MOC. It is just here to fill the trailer. My goal was to do a oversized load truck. Nevertheless, can you post pic to better show what do you have in mind ?
-
Thank you. A clean design, both regarding the details and the way the model is built, is indeed essential to have a nice model. With my UCS models, I always aimed at achieving a clean design.

Thanks ! "Oversize load", that's the word I was lookking for. I will edit the tittle. As for the 2 pilot cars, I thought about it, but I really wanted to focus on the truck and the trailer. edit : well, I can not edit the tittle of the thread. A moderator may do that for me ?

9395, 9394 or 8069?
Anio replied to Razvy_cluj_ro's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Definitely 8069 IMO. :p -
V-LC-21D Hello, And here is my second City MOC : a transport truck. It is a 399 model. And some features are hidden in it. =) In the middle, I made the trailer widder than the truck in order to make the convoy look bigger. V-LC-21E Hello, In the community, I am mainly known for my UCS Star Wars models. But I want to explore different themes now. And I choose City for my first non Star Wars MOC. Here is my garbage truck, a 299 part model. Hope you like it. My FlickR gallery : And my Brickshelf gallery when public : http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=517126

Why LEGO is the best company in the world
Anio replied to eiker86's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This video made my day. -
I know what is a WIP, thanks. But your first post has nothing to do with a WIP. There is indeed no explanation of your building process, no explanation of the approach you try to achieve, no explanation of your goal, no explanation of the techniques you try to use, and even no photos. Oh yes, there is 1 photo. A photo where we can barely see a windscreen and a dozen of slopes. Moderators should be glad that you spam and tease on purpose with dull messages. I am sure they would appreciate if everyone could post such messages.

I really do not see the point of such a post... We actually do not see anything of the model. And you do not say anything about your building process. If you do not have anything to put in your message, then do not post anything.

[MOC] Anakin's Jedi Interceptor with Hyperspace Ring
Anio replied to Swan Dutchman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The final result looks pretty good. I'm not a big fan of the SNOT here, though. In this case, it implies that the build is weak. And some studs could be cool. :p -

Good question. With the hundreds of feedbacks I get on that MOC, I think I can say that this MOC is the one the community prefers among the UCS models I did. however, I think ths is the model I could improve the most (still among all the UCS models I did). The model is not flat enough. I think Bob's model is better regarding that matter. The back (dark bluish gray part) is not modular either, which is not a good point regarding my standards. Otherwise, it fits my expectations and standards. It has some good and homogeneous greebs, and it is modular with the 4 wings, the greebs and the structure. The length is perfect IMO (124 cm). For your information, 10221 is also 124 cm long, and it is a good clue for me to say that 124cm give a very good balance between all the aspects the model must comply with. Bob's model is too big IMO. Btw, I would be interested to see how he built the inside (structure, link between wings and structure, etc). Hope this message answer your question.
