  1. The model looks very good. There is only one pic available for now, but I do prefer this model than 9398. The dark blue is great and work perfectly with the red chassis. Tan seats are a nice touch too. Congratulation Rm8 ! And congratulations to the Lego group too who launched an interesting contest with well defined rules (the previous Lego Technic constest organized by the LTG were kind of meh to me).
  2. Hello guys, Frousmoul completed the instructions of my UCS AT-AT. And Blakbird did the renders. You can see some images from the instruction and the bill of material here : http://www.techlug.fr/instructions-lego-star-wars/ST12/P/at-at-st12-anio-2012 The model is very modular, and so, the instruction has been executed so that everyone can see/understand that aspect. The parts required are also pretty common. Gray, plates, wings. There are no parts that are that rare in it. To get this profesionnal instruction, you have to pay at least 10€. You may give more to support our work, or if you think the instruction deserves more due to its quality. You can PM me here, or email me at setechnic[at]gmail[dot]com
  3. For the record : http://www.setechnic.com/Forum/topic7285.html
  4. Or maybe people could wait till Eric or Paul announce it themself ?
  5. I may just add that Chrome Block City accepts to chrome parts on requests. This helps A LOT. And Aurimax is a veryyyyyyy nice seller. The best and kindest seller I did business with (I did more than 250 orders, with probably 200 different sellers).
  6. We discussed about this on setechnic. They appears not to be outriggers but something that could be translated to "spade anchor" (??) in English (bêche d'ancrage in French). edit : however, panels looks curious there.
  7. The 24 clutch gear is a part that should exist for ages... For example, when you see the nightmare on 8053 and all those 16t, it is incomprehensible that they did not produced such a 24t yet.
  8. With tiles, the 2x6 wedges would not be maintained enough. If a 2x3 tile existed, it would have done the job with a 1x3 tile. But 3 1x3 tiles would not be very strong. The best thing would have been a 3x3 tile of course. They are maybe too small. But a designer also has to keep the build simple. 5L wide is pretty much out of the system, mainly because it is an odd width (edit : well, technically speaking, it would be in the system, but it wouldn't be convenient to build with) For example, with such an engine, the half cylinder could not be used anymore. 4L wide engines appear to be the best choice to me.
  9. A 3xn frame would be pointless. Indeed, you can not put 2 gears at 90° in it.
  10. Obvisously, this way... There is no gravity on the wings... If I put 10179 upside down, everything falls. -_-' 7191 is designed to support gravity. And it does support it. My 7191 has very horizontal wings. 10240 doesn't.
  11. Really ? For the nose, remplacing the 3x3 plate by 3 1x3 tiles would make a much better looking model. I am pretty sure about it.
  12. With yellow, it could be even better IMO. The chassis lacks yellow a lot.
  13. If you search correctly, you should find an instruction for an UCS Slave 1 pretty easily. =) Excepted if you are only looking for an official model. :) I'm on it ! =) Well said !
  14. Dear Lord !! Finally someone who sees that ! No matter how accurate, impressive and well designed the model could be, the Sandcrawler itself is just a potato on wheels. The UCS line deserves way more than that.
  15. The model is really very well designed. There are some improvements on the details, and less stickers (the windscreen is not printed, though). There are also suspensions for the wings ? Oo Overall, it is really a minor update compared to 7191, a set that were very well and cleverly designed too. Major point : it kills the UCS line. How can a model be ultimate and collector if it is re-released ?
  16. Hello, fellows, The instruction for the UCS Sebulba's podracer is finally complete ! Frousmoul toiled for hours and hours to release it. In the end, it is a HD 460Mo professional instruction. Blakbird did the renders. And I thank him for that. =) More page of the instruction here : http://www.techlug.fr/instructions-lego-star-wars/ST09/P/sebulba-s-podracer-st09-anio-2011 Important note : some orange parts must be painted because they do not exist yet in orange. However, a cheap spray paint you may find in any creative art store does the job. Despite the amount of work involved in the instruction, we chose to maintain the price of 10€. We trust people to support with the amount they want, even if I'm pretty convinced that the instruction deserves "a little" more than 10€. To buy it, you can send me a private message here on EB, but also on Youtube (my nickname is setechnic there). You may also email me directly at setechnic@gmail.com Régis
  17. Hello, I am here to announce that a professional instruction of my UCS Anakin's podracer is available for sale. It was made by Frousmoul, with the help of Blakbird for some renders. Here are some pics : More pics of all instructions available here : http://www.techlug.fr/instructions-lego-star-wars/ST03/P/anakin-skywalker-s-podracer-st03-anio-2009 As usually, the price is ridiculous symbolic : 10€. But if you want to support our work, or if you think the instructions is worth more than 10€, a bigger donation is of course very much appreciated. To get the instruction, you can PM me on EuroBricks, but also on Youtube or FlickR. You may also send me an e-mail at setechnic@gmail.com :-)
  18. You never built models designed by Lego Designers (aka "sets") ? Cause actually, they are MOCs ! Yes, they are !
  19. Paypal, you have fees if the buyer did not support it. But even with fees, it is much more convenient when you have to deal with a lot of buyers (especially when you just release a new instruction). Bank transfer by IBAN is also a possibility. But you have to wait about 2 days before getting the money. And when you have a lot of buyers, you may be lost (what payment match to what buyer ? not easy to say...). So, I suggest to use IBAN, only when you are not in a hurry.
  20. I did a pretty good experiment on that matter. I did some UCS models, and Frousmoul, a friend, did some nice professionnal instructions for them (you may see some pages here : http://www.setechnic.com/notices.html to judge the quality ; see the ref with "ST" ) By a matter of principle, we choose the symbolic price of 5€. Well, to be honnest, this can be considered as free when compared to the amount of work. And then I explain that each "buyer" can pay what he want depending how he wants to support our work etc. We sold a number of instructions that can be considered as significant. Average amount of money we get per instruction : 11,35€. I would conclud from that that about half of people play the game with a price that is significantly higher than the symbolic price we ask. We also know that we could have get much more money with a price at 10 or 15€ per instruction. But that is not what we aim at. Edit : what sounds kind of wrong to me is when someone pay a very little amount of money for instruction to "cut" the costs. And then buy parts for an amount between 200 and 700€ (at least for my MOCs) to reproduce the model. I don't mind, but isn't it kind of curious ? Seriously, thanks to the complete inventory, just with orders, a buyer saves A LOT of money compared to the guy who design the model first. I mean he avoid the long and costly trial and error process. It could make sense to pay the seller of the instruction with an amount of money that is more or less proportionnal to what each people "saves" thanks to the "well executed work".
  21. What the hell... Eventually, someone found a way to create a 4th thread about new Technic sets ! Congratulations, Sir !
