On the underside, this is not a cargo door. Oo It is just a fairing element attached with an hinge ! I updated a bit my 7191, with new color. Well, this is not an awesome mod, but I am very pleased with the result : more pics : http://www.setechnic.com/Forum/topic7660.html :)

FAIL.

Can't be more specific.

The instruction will be available soon. And yes, I will announce it in this thread.

Pneumatic Cylinders With Part 75347?
Anio replied to SNIPE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Oh, I understand what you want to do. It may work, but you need to tweak parts, right ? I also wonder how you gonna put a dish in the cylinder (like what we can find in a pneumatic cylinder) -
Pneumatic Cylinders With Part 75347?

It won't work. The tube is not full in the mast. -
Yes, the mini ISD can be considered as microscaled. But not the Executor.

Are Star Wars MOC Builders becoming a dying breed?
Anio replied to HJR-Holland's topic in LEGO Star Wars
And that is very sad. I understand that explanations on design process, techniques used, NPU, etc may be very interesting. I try to give as much as I can myself. But today, too many MOCs are judged only because they are well photographed. I just take an example. Let's consider two MOCs : 1) a MOC that is not bad, but not impressive or amazing either. But it is very well photographed. 2) a jaw dropping MOC, but with poor photos. Now, which one do you think is more likely to be blogged on TBB ? ;D -
Are Star Wars MOC Builders becoming a dying breed?

So gathering tons of Star Wars sets would not enable people to do MOCs ? I doubt it. Seriously. -

So you are perseverant. That is an important asset in order to design good MOCs. A good methodology and a high level of exigency with yourself are also important. For the first, analyse how official sets are built instead of "just building" them. As for the exigency with yourself, I guess it is difficult to help someone for that. You have it, or you don't. I bricklink all my MOCs too. Many people do so. @ Cavegod : pretty difficult to make curves with plates... :/ I generally avoid to turn into UCS a model that won't fit the Lego system well. As for the Star Wars universe, there are TONS of things that can still be made. Star Wars is not only ships. There are a lot of places to reproduce. Even if it is only ship, there are many scales possible. -
You're welcome. :) What I meant is even more general. We read too many times (more or less everywhere ; here, but also on youtube comments, blogs, etc), "Lego should have use SNOT", "Lego shoud have tiled that" etc. (anyway, the worst thing we can read is, by far, "It has no minifig / it is not minifig scaled, Lego, you're kidding me ?"). There are many rules a designer has to face. And he will never consider a building technique as a goal but as a mean. A mean that has to respect many other standards (mainly the stability, the strength and the simplicity of the build, to make it short). So, when he can make a good looking result with a simple build, be sure he will not hesitate to do so. As for the 10227, I think there are a lot of SNOT everywhere. So, people who like tricky builds should enjoy the model (even with no SNOTed small wings ;D ). And to see that there is a lot of SNOT, analyse the build quickly, and you will see that you can hardly define a part that can be considered as the top (the top regarding the build, not regarding the shape of the ship). There are parts in every direction.
-
This was not supposed to be mean. Oo =) My point is that there is no way this small wings could be SNOTed for an official model. You will hardly see SNOT for the sake of doing SNOT in an official model if a more simple build does the job ; see my signature.

Typically the comment from someone who lacks knowledge in building techniques and Lego standards.

Since everyone is informed the model will be discontinued in 2014, I do not see the problem. Just buy the set before 2014 ! @_@
-
I wouldn't say they are major changes. I redid and optimised the whole structure. It is the biggest update, but once the model is finished, you actually do not see the inside. The underside is more detailed. But again, the underside is not what you see the most. Well, it is more detailed anyway. As for the greebs, they are more homogeneous IMO, and so, look better. I also reworked some minor technical aspects more or less everywhere on the model.
-
Just a remark about the word "microscale". In Lego, microscale is actually not a scale but a size. I mean, there is no UCS model which is "microscale" ! ^^ Some for mid-scale (MF and ISD).
-
Problem solved : a professional instruction of the model will be for sale in a few months. edit : I looked carefully at the pics. No doubt he used the 3D file supplied by polo ; his model is exactly the same. But we can not blame him for doing that. Anyway, the profesionnal instruction will present an improved model, regarding the whole structure, the underside and the greebs.

The model looks very good. There is only one pic available for now, but I do prefer this model than 9398. The dark blue is great and work perfectly with the red chassis. Tan seats are a nice touch too. Congratulation Rm8 ! And congratulations to the Lego group too who launched an interesting contest with well defined rules (the previous Lego Technic constest organized by the LTG were kind of meh to me).

Hello guys, Frousmoul completed the instructions of my UCS AT-AT. And Blakbird did the renders. You can see some images from the instruction and the bill of material here : http://www.techlug.fr/instructions-lego-star-wars/ST12/P/at-at-st12-anio-2012 The model is very modular, and so, the instruction has been executed so that everyone can see/understand that aspect. The parts required are also pretty common. Gray, plates, wings. There are no parts that are that rare in it. To get this profesionnal instruction, you have to pay at least 10€. You may give more to support our work, or if you think the instruction deserves more due to its quality. You can PM me here, or email me at setechnic[at]gmail[dot]com
