  1. In what universe Technic is just a model that use Technic parts ? Then a City model is a model that use City parts ?
  2. :-S This set is a major failure and the reason why TLG made 8292 only 2 years later.
  3. When I see 42008, yes, Lego over use PF on models that are not designed to be correctly PFed. :-S The kit 8293 is generally a nice addition (set 8294 and 8265). However, 8293 can not do miracles if the model sucks (8295). I hardly see the relationship between PF and complexity. 8264 and 8052 : M + BB, and boring 8258, 9397 and 42009 : one motor + BB, and pretty complex 9398 and 41999 : one M, one servo, 2 L, leds, BB, switch, remote control, IR receiver : not very complex. Complexity is something different than just using PF elements.
  4. Redownload the zip page 7. Then, extract the files, double click on the venator partlist, select all, copy, paste on the mass upload bricklink page. I dunno what else to say. The problem is may be so simple that I do not see it. @_@
  5. I just tried to create the wanted list. There is no problem, I have all the dark red parts in it.
  6. 2000 and 2001 : studful sets with several studless parts introduced, such as the liftarms (1x15 etc) 2002 : no new model, only remake. I guess designers were learning how to use studless So, 2003 : very first true studless models.
  7. Hello guys, It is with deep regrets that I have to sell this wonderful model... Just read the first page if you are not convinced yet with the awesomeness of that supercar. I sell it as a kit. If you do not have the instructions, you will have to buy it on Crowkiller website : http://www.crowkille...nstructions.php If you want, to make things easier for you, I can send you the instruction, so that you do not have to pay by paypal. But I will charge 15$ (let's say 12€) in the price of the kit. Then, of course, I will transfer this money to Nathanaël Kuipers. I sell this awesome model at 300€. The buyer supports the shipping costs. This cost depends where you are located. I live in France. You can PM me here, or email me at setechnic@gmail.com if you are interested. ;) I will edit this message when the model is sold.
  8. Good MOC ! It makes me want to try to build one. :)
  9. Wooo, it is been a while this car was created ! Thanks for the link.
  10. Is the brick 3x3 cut corner a new part ?
  11. On 8053, these 2 functions were totally desynchronised ! :-S
  12. Well, I am not home for a couple of weeks. I can not try. However, I higly doubt the vertical move of the outriggers and the telescoping will work if another feature is operated. Indeed, these functions are already very slow. Lifting the arm requires a lot of power too. The hook does not need much power, but it has a worm gear in the mechanism. This part wastes some power. Only one function can be operated at the same time. And I REALLY think that it is a brilliant idea. That way, each feature works better, and operating the model is easier. I mean, 8258 and 9397 work well, but it is a bit more difficult to operate these sets.
  13. I'm not sure the L motor will be happy if you operate 2 functions at the same time.
  14. The first post on page 7 is clear enough, isn't it ?
  15. The lower rack is used as a regular rack, with a 12t. The upper rack is actually just used as a beam.
  16. Therealjustin, now you may read the review of the mobile crane : http://www.techlug.f...us-kossman-2013
  17. No, it is not such a big problem. As for the panels, no differences excepted the holes. 42008 : 42009 :
  18. Some small wheels (with tires) may be new, but I'm not sure. There are also black 16L axles (they were only white till now)
  19. Thank you. 42009 does work smoothly. In the video, when I retract the telescopic section, it is not smooth because the arm is not totally raised. But when it is, it is smooth. There is just the hook that is not heavy enough.
  20. Indeed. It is inconsistent and incongruous regarding many aspects : technologies, design, playability, etc. edit :
  21. @ Therealjustin : this is very disrespectful to post something that is not complete. This is not supposed to be public yet. I would appreciate the first moderators who read that to remove the link ASAP. 9397 is very well built and consistent. It has some great mechanism (much better than 42008). And there is obviously no other way to do the mechanism of the claw (seriously, what did you expect for something located at the end of the arm ? -_-). And it has the fake engine. So I think it deserves 5/5. 42008 is very far from it. It is not playable for a kid, and very poorly engineered. It has absolutely no consistency in the design.Yes, the inventory is good and the set looks good. But that is not enough for a good Technic model. Saying that I did not like the truck from the very first glance is kinf of preposterous. :-/ I am pretty sure that the designer who made 42008 is a designer with little experience with Technic or with little experience with big models. I mean, there is no way that Kossman or Wabra can build something engineered like this. :s
  22. Both. :-S As for the crane, do not doubt anymore. It rocks !!
  23. Yep, but a good inventory does not necessarily makes a good set. ;) True. 42008 is not that big. And it does not help to builds things correctly. Not really. 8285 was big enough for everything to be well integrated and executed. :) Review of the crane coming soon.
