Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

This probably has been asked and answered, but I can't find it: Is the review index ever getting updated? -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The article specifically referenced the Disney advertising budget for the movie itself. All the rest of the stuff out there doesn't cost them a dime... Actually, the opposite. They get paid for the licensing on Force Awakens potato chips or whatever, but we know that from our LEGO habit. Apparently the budget is higher outside the US, where Star Wars is more ingrained into the pop culture, compared to places like China. Definitely ready for Thursday night, regardless. The we finally get to see how screen-accurate (or not) these sets have been. That looks awful. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Interesting. There have been articles this week about how the marketing for TFA has been relatively low key for a movie of its stature. eg. that the marketing budget has been set at the very lowest end for any film with the budget range this had. -

The Ninjago/motorcycle one is pretty funny, too. -
To 'turn the lights red', how about one of the trans-red windscreens lowering in front of them?

Sabine Wren from Star Wars Rebels also has a color-streaked hair piece. Her hair is blue, though so not sure if that would work better . :)

Everybody get their tickets for opening night? Getting close now.

REVIEW: 71011 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15
rollermonkey replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There's a couple parts breakdowns that show the wrong bits, (wrestler and ballerina) but a nice looking series. Definitely a couple I may have to look for. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Just based on the single image we've seen of Starkiller base, I can't see them trying to recreate the WHOLE thing in LEGO... I don't think that I would even want to see them try at this point. Yet. -
Lego Architecture MOC - Mercury City Tower
rollermonkey replied to Hass Kabal's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very cool. I wonder if white cheese slopes on the lowest horizontal row would work better? Very tough to pull off in that color, very nice job, though.- 4 replies

[MOC] Imperial Troop Transport (With three 75078 set)
rollermonkey replied to abyssahx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You can always upgrade again and make one with FOUR 75078s! -
Nope. It's a slip of paper separate from the book.

Really? I've gotten a slip for the site in every Architecture set I've ever bought. www.legosurvey.com/product or http://survey.medallia.com/?legoproduct&domainredir=www.legosurvey.com
-
The only way these won't continue is if they don't sell. I definitely plan on voicing my opinion on the survey site.

Technic General Discussion
rollermonkey replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's awesome! I don't have either of them, but it does mean that my idea for using them in a project may actually be feasible. What size Samsonite gear did you test? (Fortunately, for what I want to do, that gear will not need to be turning an axle.) -

Does anyone know if the outside of the large Hailfire Droid wheels mesh with existing lego gears, or is it just the inside gear ring? -

Woah. Those look way more difficult to get alignments to work properly. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

I was thinking the cockpit to have no gravity, like most starfighters, and only the C&C/troop area being within the field. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
rollermonkey replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm trying to decide if the 'blueprint' on the back of the Resistance ship indicates that the cockpit does rotate like a B-wing. Remember: Gravity on starships is artificially generated. It could rotate without the passengers getting tossed about if the speed of rotation isn't too high. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

Try a different browser or something. He's embedding YouTube videos of someone in Russia unboxing virtually all of the winter wave... Waiting to see if they have Takodana or the Resistance ship... -
[REVIEW] 42048 - Race Kart
rollermonkey replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I planned on getting this set before, the reviews only confirm that. Question: I don't have the instructions in front of me, but it seems possible that you've put the hub cap stickers on the wrong wheels. They are mirrored on the sticker sheet picture, so I would expect the 2 on each side would be the same? If the way you have them is the way the instruction does, I know I'll be changing mine around. -

I have not. I guess I'm waiting to see the movie first. (12 days! ) If any major characters don't survive the first film, then those figures will show up in a lot fewer sets in the future, so getting them now would be far more important. ...and we all know that a certain actor has asked repeatedly to have their character killed off...
