  1. You care about plot, but not character evolution? That doesn't make much sense. Although the movies have some similar themes / beats that doesn't mean that every song at 88bpm in 4/4 time is the same song. Instead of focusing on what you didn't like, how about thinking/talking about what you DID like? It'd be a heck of a lot more enjoyable for everyone... yourselves included. 'because frankly, there are more differences than similarities, imo.
  2. After the heroes land, they have to transit to another location. When they arrive at that large building of the base, there's a shot of them entering the building. The snowspeeder is seen outside the door, for about 1.5 seconds. I have heard that there is another point where it is seen, even shorter, but I don't know when that is. Perhaps the hangar/garage shot somewhere? (Spoiler-free! )
  3. Many. I'm not even going to count, and I've only been out of the dark ages about 3 years. All of the Architecture series, many Star Wars and Technic sets, plus a few Ideas sets, most of the Modulars, and a few Creator Expert sets.
  4. I'd heard the exact opposite, that TIE advanced is showing up as retired in some region's S@H. I guess the gunship and walker would likely go at the same time, all being from the same wave. I have a hard time believing the Gozanti is done already, but as much complaining as there has been around here, I guess it could be true if it is not selling well. This all sounds like making shelf room, which is good if you have everything you wanted already...
  5. Except the film has not been released in all countries yet. (As much as I will be glad when the spoiler tags can stop)
  6. Yeah, but Abrams specifically stated that there would NOT be a mid- or post-credits scene. That it doesn't fit with the Star Wars experience.
  7. Younger kids love Hook due to how he's characterized on Jake & The Neverland Pirates. He was more feared before that show. I can imagine that we'll be seeing non-AFOLs buying these buy the case. Disneyfans are INSANE when it comes to collectibles, from Funko Pops to Pins to Vinylmations and on and on.
  8. Just think, in a few months, they'll go on massive clearance, and we'll be able to stock up on mostly common parts and barely seen Snowtroopers.
  9. I suspect that we would probably be able to break down our 10179's and be a looong way towards being ready to build this. ...and since I already did the dish mod, I'm that many pieces closer.
  10. Bet you a nickel that if it shows up at all, Finn's helmet would be in the Finalizer. That puts it in a set where an adult will more likely be involved in the purchase Then "Encounter on Jakku", which is apparently going to be a smaller set, will have less in it.
  11. Anyone else put a boat stud on the bottom of their TARDIS and spin it like a top? Or is that just me?
  12. Sadly, those 241 posts (threads?) were across several years, Ed. There are some folks in the Technic forum that can probably help you if the help you need isn't in those threads, or if you cannot find it. Make a new thread in the Technic forum and ask your questions. We have some very technic-savvy folks who just may be able to answer your questions, or at least better than I can. And I'm sure that they won't bite.
  13. The definition has evolved a lot, and a lot of tropes get lumped into it. Originally, a Marysue was typically an author representative, typically in fanfiction, but not always. (The original was on the Star Trek TV show) The character was typically: a center of narrative attention, extremely capable, and typically gains the admiration of the main characters. Things like needing to be rescued by the original hero, a fatal flaw, etc get lumped in there too sometimes. Regardless, Rey's not really a Marysue by the original meaning, but she does have some of the commonly related tropes. My earlier comment was wrong, but actually was associated with some of those similar tropes, my fault.
  14. This model is now trending on Facebook, front paged on Yahoo and written up on Huffington Post. Marshal Banana is now internet famous!
  15. This doesn't settle it. At the parks, Peter Pan is a "face character" meaning a natural human face with makeup as needed. Captain Hook is always a "costumed character" meaning he has a giant helmet head. Although Ursula has appeared in park as both, Genie as costumed only and the others as face characters only. I think until we see Genie as a standard minifig head or another costumed character with a standard minifig head, Hook could still be a mold.
  16. ...and just like that, the idea of a new, even better UCS Falcon seems all too plausible. Bravo.
  17. I'm disappointed in you guys. Still no Eravana MOC? I figured by now, someone would make one big enough for an Advent-sized Falcon... As one big enough for the 10179 would require a couple of BL orders, to say the least.
  18. No. LEGO said that they have made One Billion stormtrooper minifigs by themselves. Bracketed right above and below the picture of the standard and snowtrooper minifigs.
  19. Kill Bill vol. 2 (H8ful Eight tomorrow. )
  20. No love for 1,2,3,5,6,7, eh? Not a lot of Martha Jones fans, either. Shame, I actually think she was one of the best companions ever.
  21. Here's an idea: Post images of both, let the buyer pick which box they prefer, then build the other one for yourself.
  22. Disney is an enormous company, with a huge amount of influence. TLG and Hasbro have held licenses for SW products since before Disney bought everything from Lucas, so things were different before. Disney is very interested in brand synergy, and now that they have Star Wars, they are applying their marketing knowledge to the intellectual property. LEGO may not have been required to release sets on Force Friday, we don't know 100% for sure. The truth is that by falling in line with Disney's request, they got some of that marketing synergy to boost sales of their product. That's hard for a business to ignore, and hard to say 'no' to, especially considering the amount of $$$ we're talking about. It sucks that resulted in toys with flaws, but that's the way things go now. When Star Wars was originally released, you could not buy a Luke Skywalker action figure for MONTHS after the film was released. Can you imagine that now? The world has become a much more demanding place where everyone wants to have everything NOW, if not five minutes ago. There was so much demand for SW toys that Christmas, Kenner was able to sell a piece of cardboard with pictures of the action figures that would be delivered 3-6 months later! Is that better than what we see now?
  23. A billion Stormtrooper minifigs seems high... I thought TLG had said that there were something like ten billion minifigs total in the world as recently as last year? That would mean one in ten was a Stormtrooper, and based on the howls that there aren't enough stormtroopers around here...
