  1. Pretty easy, actually, and even easier yet in Technic. They made a twin-rotor helicopter, a plane and a truck with cherry-picker lift at that price point. It's all about scale and imagination.
  2. Just finished building it. Very swooshable. The modular nature of the craft really is quite interesting. I'm pretty sure there's enough room in there for several more resistance troopers... At least two seated, maybe all six between the FO Transport and the BP if they are all standing, too. Can't wait to test that out.
  3. I would laugh so hard if the BWE turned out to be one of those $13 sets.
  4. I was messing around with my daughter at the LEGO store, and while she was doing Build-A-Minifigure, I grabbed a couple parts and almost randomly made this: Kaylee, is that you? I dunno, I thought so.
  5. I honestly don't think this series will consist of 18 A-list characters. Knowing Disney, more like 6-8 A-list, 6-8 second tier, and 4-6 niche characters. With the way figure distribution works in CMF boxes? If all 18 were A-list, there would be a lot of angry people.
  6. I tend to believe/pretend that women's roles in SW combat were similar to how they were in real life when the movies were released: They had support roles, and although these placed often them in great danger, the Galactic (and US) Senate pretended otherwise. Female pilots in the US were limited to logistics aircraft until recently. (Although in WWII, they would operate fighter aircraft on ferry flights to relocate the equipment about the country as needed.) Maybe she/they had just brought forward more X-wings from the rear and hadn't changed out of the flight suits when the briefing occurred, before operating a different spacecraft for the battle. Now that women can be fighter pilots in combat, they show up in SW as such, on-screen with speaking roles. Either way, I'm sure that Karie and Dorovio served the Rebel Alliance with honor and dignity, I just think we're more likely to get a Jessika Pava minifig long before either of them.
  7. Has there ever been a Technic set where the gearbox was on the axle? The race kart was a pretty interesting build. Not what I was expecting, at all.
  8. No minifig, non-credited role, no in-cockpit shots, no dialogue. Yes, there was a woman in a pilot suit on screen, but everything else about her is non-canonical. We know she was at the briefing, nothing more is confirmed since Disney rent the EU asunder. Amazing how the galaxy was sexist, even way back then. ;)
  9. I would be happy if they just got the review index caught up. Trying to do the MOC index would be a never ending battle, but official sets are a finite number. This isn't the only theme with the problem, either. Technic does pretty well tracking the best MOCs with the Hall of Fame, but the review index there is also more than a year out of date.
  10. No, at least there's never been on in the movies. How about: Ello Asty and Jessika Pava. You can put your Nien Numb head on an X-wing torso if you really need him. He looked to be wearing the same helmet/leather skullcap as always in the film.
  11. Resistance Transport Not really a playset kind of person, I may wait a while before deciding if I'll get Takodana or not.
  12. Pete, who is precisely the same age as Mickey, (he also appeared in Steamboat Willie) has been referred to as Sneaky Pete many, many times. He appears in the New Mickey Mouse Clubhouse nearly every episode. Far from obscure, throughout Disney history, he has appeared roughly as often as the six main characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto), and very possibly more than Daisy when you consider animated shorts, TV shows and feature films. If they are going to pair characters with a foil, Pete would actually make the most sense. Plus, we aren't going to get the 18 most popular characters in the first series if they ever hope to do a second series... And knowing the Disney Marketing Machine, they probably would like to do CMF series forever. (insert evil laugh)
  13. New OT and PT sets are there... At the exaggerated prices. And the Droid Escape sold out, even at the ripoff price of $45. And some of the Microfighters at $16. And some of the BPs at $23. Wow.
  14. Seriously? Either I've just been priced out of this hobby, or TLG needs to get a better team working on the website. Ghostbusters HQ is $500, the Bank is $250, Doctor Who jumped to $80. The prices are all randomly increased.
  15. Nothing until TLG fixes the website. Prices are all 50% higher than expected. VIP points are all jacked up, too.
  16. I never disagreed. Just saying. Also: WTF? Set prices are WAY over what we'd been led to believe. $90 for Takodana? $110 for Resistance Transport? Ghostbusters HQ is $500! If this isn't a website screwup, and these are final prices, I've just been priced out of the hobby.
  17. Just got back from the theater watching TFA for the second time. There are definitely 2 types of TIEs. The ones with the black 'gear' ring, like the set we have, and ones without.
  18. What's interesting to me about the "white slaver" remarks is that it seems that he made the comment a while ago, but a different comment from the interview was focused on at the time. An article I saw that did discuss this comment was dated November 30th, before the film had even been released. . There is discussion that the dying trooper who streaked blood across Finn's helmet and the trooper who caught with the electrostaff were both in Finn's training unit. I'm pretty sure it's a fan theory, but it works pretty well. Google TR-8R for more detail than I can remember.
  19. This is the the quandary, as I see it: We know that TLG has limited ability to make every minifig imaginable, so which is more important: Getting major characters in outfits not previously made like the aforementioned jumpsuit Leia (not including minuscule changes like Luke, flap up vs flap down) Getting secondary characters that have never been made: Shmi, Beru, or dare I say it, Ponda Baba. Getting obscure, blink-and-miss-them characters, or zero screen time at all, like Zuvio and Cracken. I know which I find LEAST important. I hope we don't get Zuvio. I'd rather get Bazine or Shmi, or any of the other costumes Padme wore. Great to see the summer list start to take shape. I do wonder what's going on with the Rogue One sets, though. The that movie may be getting released about the same time as TFA, but if VIII is just six months later, the release schedule we're used to, two waves a year, is going to lose meaning for quite a while.
  20. Hateful 8 Seeing TFA again tomorrow, bringing the young padawan this time.
  21. While I recognize that creating the Star Wars universe is pretty incredible, Lucas really hasn't done much else, apart from Indiana Jones with Spielberg. I've never understood the pedestal he's been placed on, and he's been grumpy and bitter for a long, LONG time. Then again, at this point, the questions he's bing asked in interviews boil down to: "Wow, the people you sold your life's work to have made a better received movie than you have in decades, making more money than you ever did. Tell us how that makes you feeeel." He's probably just trying to not tell people to go megablox themselves.
  22. Um, they didn't even have most of the big sets, either. And quantities were incredibly limited all around. From Architecture to Technic and everything in-between, half or more of each line was sold out, and what was left were often singletons. I should have taken pictures.
  23. Obscure? Yes. Non-existent? Not really. Hasbro is a lot better at releasing figures of characters that aren't in the movies. Definitely shaping up for another nice year for LEGO SW. Well, I think so. I'm sure the peanut gallery will make itself heard.
  24. Went to the LEGO store today, and was completely disappointed. I know they never break street dates, but a guy can hope, right? The inventory was insanely low: They had exactly 3 Elves sets, 2 of 1 and 1 of another. The grand sum total of all Star Wars merchandise was 5 UCS TIEs, 1 of each of the constraction figures that had been returned that morning and 3 Darth Vader clocks. On topic, they had one blue crane, 1 24-hour racer and 1 Acros. many of the small sets were completely gone. All around the store. the other themes only had slightly more than Technic did... It was kind of incredible. They couldn't even face the shelves in some areas. Heck, half the Star Wars area was faced with Bionicle pouches. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.
  25. I think Dopey appears solo more often, but it's definitely between the two of them. For Inside Out, they could VERY easily do Sadness and Joy and skip the other three.
