DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Please don't debate Doomsday's appearing in the film here. That belongs in Culture & Multimedia. We do know for a fact that he's not in any of the BvS sets we're getting so far, so at this point Doomsday is irrelevant to this discussion.- 8,446 replies

There are no concrete rumors here. It doesn't warrant its own topic. I'll find an appropriate existing to merge it into - perhaps the Dimensions Physical Brick discussion. ………………TADA!- 527 replies

DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ok, please don't start rumors based on wishes in here. I don't think there's actually a Henchman in the Batwing set, that's all. It's just the other five minifigures, like I said in my previous post. Nothing's confirmed, though, so I'll leave the first post as it is.- 8,446 replies

Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them Film Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Robert8's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I would say his hair looks a little modern, but I'm not very well-versed in 1930's men's haircuts. Especially not British ones (if they differed from America).Even from just this one image, I'm excited for this. I love period pieces, and fantasy, and the Harry Potter universe, so the combination of those three sounds wonderful. I'm so glad they're willing to commit to the 1930's setting for a full period piece too; just being in a different era can make films of this genre more fun than if they were in modern day. Like Terminator Genisys - would've been so much better if it had stuck to the 80s. Or maybe it would've sucked anyway. I have more hope for Fantastic Beasts. -
DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

What exactly, apart from the wings, do people find bad about the grey and dark blue Batman figure? The head is surely an incorrect one, as leaked figures often have. The muscles are an older style, true, but there's nothing inherently bad about that style. Just curious what people find wrong with it.- 8,446 replies

Let's get it embedded anyways: <snip - don't need this twice in a row now> That's the same one Derzy posted. At this point I'm willing to throw my hands up and say these are real. Shitty, not very exciting, but real. Why LEGO would go with these horrid wing things I don't know. But hey, it's LEGO, we can always replace them with capes. Also the new chinless-helmet on a fleshie head reminds me immeasurably of Big Daddy from Kick-megablocks. I doubt these heads are final. Hopefully LEGO will print some new faces on a dark blue head to go with the dark blue helmet.- 8,446 replies

You should specify in your first post which cockpit is which. It's clearly not obvious, as we can see from some of the comments here. So, left is bad and right is good?

Lego UCS-MOC: Batman™ Arkham Knight ''Batmobile''

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nope nope nope. Please get the discussion of when a trailer is going to be released out of here. I know why some may think it's relevant - because it will 'show what to expect in the sets.' I'm here to tell you that it's clutter. WHEN the trailer actually comes out, IF there happens to be a relevant shot in it, THEN it's relevant. Before that time, it goes in Culture & Multimedia. -
75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to kelceycoe's topic in LEGO Licensed
This discussion is not about Christmas lists. It's also not for a continual back-and-forth about how expensive the set is. You can find numerous topics about LEGO being pricey in the General LEGO Discussion section of the Forums. Please stop now with the posts wishing for cheaper sets in certain Licensed lines. Saying it once - ok. More than once - annoying and doesn't add anything.Everyone else, please carry on. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Clone OPatra replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Could you guys not discuss spoilers and potential plot points openly in here please? I know I don't join this discussion very much, but I do read it for the LEGO news, and would not like to accidentally have parts of the movie spoiled. I'm sure others are in the same boat. -

This goes to both of you and to everybody else - don't tell others what they can and cannot post. Even if phrased as a rhetorical question, a negative tone can still come across. If you think somebody's posting is out of line, use the 'Report' button. Or, if you don't think it really belongs but it's not doing anybody any harm, just don't respond and the conversation will move along. Thanks. -

Actually, the queen/princess/whatever she was in the last Castle theme used a Friends hairpiece. I think that's the only example so far.- 4,155 replies

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
The collectible minifig line uses them all the time. They've also appeared in sets, like the hair on Red in the Lone Ranger stagecoach, Ewok Village Princess Leia (which was also in the collectible minifigs), and I bet there are some others I'm missing right now. It's a good bet we'll be getting some squishy hair, IMO.- 4,155 replies

Ratchet & Clank Movie and Game Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Oky's topic in Culture & Multimedia
That might be your opinion, but it's not the only opinion. I watch movies based on stuff I've no interest in looking into in their original form. If they're good movies, they work because they're good movies. The first couple Resident Evil movies are a good example - I'd never played the video games (which I don't think have much to do with the films anyway), but those are good, enjoyable films on their own. That's not to mention the countless films based on books I've never read. Films should stand alone, in my opinion. Some of the points being raised about this trailer resonate with me. It just looks quite bland. The graphics also look more like they belong in a video game than on the big screen in today's day and age, when CG animated films can have a high level of detail, texture, and lighting. Turning video game properties into by-the-books, cliche stories tends not to work, even if that was the story in the video game (which I don't know here, since I've never played the video games).- 16 replies

DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
To be fair, LEGO has been packing bunches of new minifigures into Batman sets lately. The most recent Bat-sets had Deathstroke and some Teen Titans (plus new Robins, but I don't know if that counts). I don't think they've released any sets in a while that had zero new minifigures/variants. I can agree that their branching out has been slower than we'd like, but it's not like they make no new stuff.- 8,446 replies

Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oh my, it seems the Avengers are going to have to storm the Arendelle Castle to retrieve Loki's scepter! Seriously, that Castle set it such an amazing parts pack. So many wonderful recolors abound in that set. Oaken's trading post is less exciting. I imagine most people would purchase it just for the reindeer. I do wish the minidolls had faces that were less… bland. Elsa is ok, but Anna and Kristoff just look so dead-eyed and lifeless. Anna especially could use a more expressive print. -

Chima and Ninjago feature minifigures with trans-arms and trans legs. We only haven't seen trans-torsos or hip pieces. For more universal usability, I'm glad the librarian has a solid purple torso. -

Zooming in on the pic unquestionably reveals stickers. This should come as no surprise to anyone; I'm more surprised that people are still griping about this. All huge sets have stickers. All. The only lines I can think of that have no stickers (up to now) are Dimensions, Architecture, and Ideas. That's it. It's frustrating that people can't just let it go at this point. -

REVIEW: 70751 Temple of Airjitzu
Clone OPatra replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I don't purchase many of the big exclusive sets, even if I strongly like them, because I just don't want to spend that much money at one time on a set. But this one, I had to have. The completed thing is just glorious, and I'm so glad LEGO went with the idea of a whole village scene. It would not have been as charming were it just a temple. That said, even with all of the advanced techniques and huge amount of detail parts I don't particularly find this set any more grand than the Orient Expedition Dragon Fortress. Perhaps that's just nostalgia talking, but to me a set doesn't have to have a ton of different parts to be very impressive. The Temple portion of this set borders on a bit messy for my eye, especially when it comes to those brown, dark brown, and tan columns incorporated into it, which don't completely work aesthetically to me. I also found the build of the temple to be quite tedious, what with all those repetitive columns and stacked windows. I know that that's what it takes to achieve the look, but I'm just sharing my feeling of it. My favorite part of the build would have to be the blacksmith shop, which uses some great LEGO-part geometry to achieve a very clean and almost simple look, while not being simple at all. The first layer of the blacksmith shop, what with all the SNOT employed, was a true joy to see come together. The use of headlight bricks there was also wonderful. Really I like the two smaller buildings more than I do the large one. I completely agree with Aanchir that it's a shame not to receive the hairpieces for the Ninja. I don't see why they couldn't have been included in an already-large set. For non-Ninjago fans, some of those hairpieces are not so easily attainable; specifically, Lloyd's and Kai's don't appear in many sets. I've personally substituted the Zombie Businessman hair for Kai's. The other knock I have on the minifigures is Nya's face. Nya's original face in the Ninjago line was very cool and distinct, yet now they've given her a bland face that looks like every other female minifig. I wish LEGO would've designed a new distinctive face for her, or at least thrown in her latest Samurai X one which is at least a little better on it's non-mask side. That being said, the minifig lineup is fantastic overall and convinced me to buy this set. Getting all the Ninja, especially in their latest outfits which might be the best yet (though I much liked the Kimonos), really increased the value of this set to me. The exclusive figures are also quite wonderful, with head prints in a style we don't get too often. -

Sci doesn't need to give 'definitive proof.' We trust him to accurately describe the prelims he's seen. The prelims show short legs. These awful transitions from French have thrown people into way too much of a tizzy.
