  1. Wow, this is spectacular! Superb job making Episode 7 details without any Episode 7 sets as well! Everything in the 'hub' is very recognizable. Great use of arches on that question mark build Really such great detailing on all of the builds - anybody who has watched the trailer ten times in a row will know just what they're looking at, no problem.
  2. Given the sheer amount of characters in this movie, I don't think LEGO will have any problem coming up with desirable minifigures to include in any of the sets.
  3. This is bordering on mini-modding, guys. It's not your job to chide other members for starting topics. The questions raised in the first post are legitimate. There has been HP LEGO in the past (of course), LEGO has an ongoing relationship with WB (which will obviously not end, since the DC Superheroes line is not ending), and WB might reasonably want to support the start of its new HP universe franchise with toys. Have there been any rumors at all? No, not that I know of. It's unreasonable to expect that there even would be rumors at this point. It's not impossible, but it would have to come from someone with far-in-advance insider info. Our usual providers of information tend to only know about sets several months in advance. Fantastic Beasts is coming out in November, so sets would not be released until September at the earliest. We're not getting summer set info right now. We don't even have any details about Angry Birds sets, which we know for a fact are coming. If this topic fades for the time being, that's absolutely fine. It my be a little premature, true, but now we'll have a topic to resurrect and turn into an a real Rumors & Discussion topic should the need arise. I sincerely hope the need does arise, as I (obviously) love HP LEGO!
  4. Wow! Both the scope of this display and the amount of detail packed into it are amazing! Great builds all around! Also great job on the minifigures! I could tell that was Biff before I'd even read that it was. That sneering Malfoy face works so well.
  5. As Phred has already stated a couple times, let's please refrain from posts 'asking for more info' and the like. It's just clutter, and it borders on chatroom etiquette. We should show those with insider info appreciation and discuss the information, but not post just to ask for more.
  6. Urgh. Though I like that hairpiece, this is one time I hope LEGO gets it wrong and gives her the Age of Ultron hair. I just want that hair! Really though, as long as it isn't the over-shoulder hairpiece she had the first time, it will be ok. Finn's hair in Falcon would certainly help the set's desirability too! Since it's already way too much hair for Finn, perhaps they will use it for Falcon who also has a very close buzz.
  7. Black Widow in a small set? More importantly Black Widow's hairpiece in a small set? Yes please
  8. With current superhero films, and I fear the DC films especially, going for 'realism' it often means that only one side gets vehicles that will translate into interesting material for sets. I'm beginning to get tired of seeing generic trucks and helicopters in the Marvel film sets, as well as in Licensed themes like the Ninja Turtles movie sets, and now it will be in DC as well. These things aren't inherently bad, but if the generic trucks and helicopters from DC's movie universe are all black as some set photos would suggest, it will be disappointing and dull. I wish the DCU filmmakers would give the bad guys slightly zanier vehicles or at least color schemes, just so that we'd have more interesting LEGO sets!
  9. Let's remember the Russo brothers, who before directing Winter Soldier had only directed episodes of sitcoms and a couple comedies. Look how they turned out.
  10. You mean James Earl Jones? Sounds pretty much like original Darth Vader to me.
  11. Actually, the article is messed up because Emily VanCamp doesn't play Peggy Carter, she plays Agent 13, who is Peggy's (grand?)niece. Peggy is played by Hayley Atwell (also not an old woman, but they put her in a lot of makeup as seen in Winter Soldier). So what did the Spoiler article get wrong - the name of the character, or the name of the actress?
  12. Scott's is fine. It's Hank's that's terrible, and really warranted a new design.
  13. All the last one needed was to be able to lock at the front. LEGO could have easily stuck to the same overall design principal of a large section made of plates on an angle, and found an easy way to lock it. They've made sets where you have to insert and remove a pin to lock and unlock a section. Instead, they went back to the 'pile of slopes' design that just looks horrible.
  14. The release date being September 4 is no speculation or rumor. It's a fact.
  15. I seriously can't understand why LEGO went with all of these re-used heads for the summer Marvel sets. Suddenly new head designs would make everything over budget? They just didn't feel like it? Paul Rudd having Ezra Bridger's head is fine, not really a problem, but for Michael Douglas who has a goatee in the movie to have Gandalf's head is just wrong. While the minifigures in the Spider-Man sets don't really have to match any source material so the re-used heads could be excused, it makes the minifigs less desirable and special. Side characters and goons I get, but seeing major villains with re-used heads is just a shame. That said, the Ant-Man set still looks terrific and LEGO knocked it out of the park with the design of the minifigs' suits and helmets, and the idea to build huge LEGO pieces.
  16. It's a rack that holds extra spring-shooter ammunition.
  17. There's no way the DC Girls sets won't be minidolls. LEGO has been expanding their girl-line horizons since the success of Friends, and this will be another entry into the girl-oriented category, which means minidolls. Hopefully they make the minidoll characters more expressive than the Friends ones, which always look nearly identical. The promo image doesn't really give me much hope, though, since all of the characters in the promo image look almost exactly the same!
  18. After seeing Brickset's review, I must say that the set looks great.... right up until you put a mini figure in the jeep. The jeep is a really sexy model, but it's wayyy oversized. They could've made it two thirds the size and made the set $25, which would have been great. It's still not a bad value as is, and it's good for parts, but it's still comically large.
  19. Not sure we should mix non MCU into the MCU thread, but what the hell. (Until Fox announces its X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover that is). My first reaction to the trailer was - that guy who plays a teenager in the Divergent series is now Reed Richards? What? But after that, this trailer is pretty good. This movie has basically gone from 'look we made the FF all dark from no reason' in the first trailer to 'pretty standard FF get their powers, decide to become heroes, and fight Doctor Doom' in this new trailer. I can't say that the latter makes me excited to see the movie exactly, but now at least it doesn't look like it will suck. It will just be 'meh.'
  20. I highly doubt it would be Fox. Fox is Coruscant security and would likely be loyal to the Emperor. It's probably either a clone who served under/with Rex or Wolffe, or something like an Arc trooper who was already autonomous.
  21. The new Vader helmet really does seem much better suited to being a Rebels depiction of the character. Vader in Rebels has a kind of comically elongated head. I still think the new LEGO helmet looks too silly, but since Vader in Rebels looks silly, I can buy it as being that.
  22. Holy crap, that trailer looks insane! Tons of Rebel forces, Rex and Wolffe, more Ahsoka (who Filoni keeps saying will be 'used sparingly,' though she's certainly not used sparingly in the trailer), and a lot of Vader! Plus a new Inquisitor, who seems just as incompetent as the last one by the looks of it. Case in point: this new inquisitor spinning his lightsaber around for ages before simply kicking Ezra. Riiiiight… good one. I hope Kanan and Ezra surviving Vader is done believably. Vader needs to not be another Clone Wars Grevious/Dooku situation where the heroes easily get away again and again.
  23. Either post spoilers in spoiler tags, or don't post anything. People that want to read the spoilers can read them, and people that don't won't. Posting vague nothings is just annoying.
  24. Wow, another absolutely awful-looking Sith Infiltrator. All they needed to do was add a locking mechanism to the last one. The stacked slopes look horrible. I'm not even going to comment on the mishmash colors, since those could change before the final version, but even if the entire thing was chrome the design would still be bad.
  25. Seeing some LEGO Wizard of Oz stuff will be neat, but at the same time it will be sad if it's all available only with Dimensions pricing. Seriously, $15 USD for what amounts to an ok Witch minifig and a blue fez (because that's the only attractive part I see in the 'monkey') is quite a terrible price to pay. Hopefully there will be a set or two that have reasonable prices. Otherwise - cool to see how LEGO does Wizard of Oz, but not something I'd ever spend money on.
