Front Suspension

For F1 cars though? I don't think it would be realistic. -
Front Suspension

I'm pretty sure the wishbone suspension arm pieces would be perfect. Depending on how large your model is, of course. -

It looks pretty cool, good job! Is the left exhaust pipe really supposed to be like that? -

Wow! It's really coming together well, and it looks great! You're not the only one who hates bodywork. -

Well if it's not, there's easily enough space for an XL. What motor drives the gear shifter? -
Too many to count. (obviously I could count them, but that is way too much work) I probably have maybe 40,000+ pieces, hardly a fraction of some other people's tho.

Looks great! Are you sure 1 L-motor is enough? -

Wait, so it locks a limited-slip diff or does it just have a limited slip? The bevel gears might pose a problem in high-torque situations. -
Ahh yes, that's why my planetary reduction box makes so much noise. At very high (something like 2400 RPM, I think) speeds, it sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

Wow, nice job! The video is really good. -

Wow, it looks awesome, I love the tandem axle suspension. Although if you're using it for truck trial I think the lockable diffs might be unnecessary. I can't wait to see how it turns out, it looks really invincible! -

Nice! How many XL's are you using to drive it? How much did those suspension parts cost you? -

I would suggest adding a slight caster angle, as that will make the suspension more responsive. Also what kind of suspension are you planning on having in the rear of the car? -
[WIP] RC (not IR) Racecar
Junpei replied to z3_2drive's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If you're using the 8880 hubs, make sure it has a camber curve, caster, etc. as AndyCW said, because even the smallest bump will hit the suspension hard. I'm not really sure about them though, I have read somewhere that they create a lot of friction. Do you have to use 8880 wheels? Also, how do the u-joints not pop out? They don't seem to be aligned with anything.- 63 replies

Wheel Racing Small and some tires, I forget the exact name. You could look up the tires that fit on the small racing wheel on BL. -
I don't know, I think pins are made of something other than the liftarms, but not nylon. Sorry, I didn't see the topic. Also, I think any of those gears look like the same quality as lego, maybe it's just the picture but they look really malleable.

What's the problem? Does the standard mini wishbone suspension not work for you? -

I agree, I think you should get rid of the worm gears, there is too much efficiency lost to friction. If you put it through a crawler course right now, you'll have some seriously ground up liftarms. I suggest just using portal axles and maybe limited slip diffs. There is always room for gear reduction in the middle, too.
