  1. So I’ve built the original, well 90% of it as I don’t have all the parts and I’m going to take a look at starting to MOD it tonight but there will be big gaps in my build time due to how busy my life is at the moment. It’s definitely something I’ll stick at as it’s a great small model and I’ll post a WIP thread on what I come up with but it may not be till Christmas that my model is fully built. So I may not be part of your Competition, and please don’t delay it based on me. if I make any progress worthy of a photo tonight I may post an image or 2
  2. Congrats, I think the model looks great and captures the look and functions of the real thing well I keep on dropping hints at my work about building an official Lego model of one of our cars I’m still praying one day it happens.
  3. Well when you want the early static reviews by Drivetribe and CarWow you’ll see they were given a LHD 90 and 110. Most of our development cars where I work are LHD even though you’d consider the vehicles I work on British
  4. I really like this, especially after seeing the real car and Technic videos back to back. They’ve captured a good number of the design features even in the interior with the beam going across the dash. i would say this is a day 1 purchase for me but I’ll be on holiday. I hope it’s still in stock at the end of October
  5. Congrats to @kubic, @Samolot & @desert752 And thank you to @Jim for pulling my name out of the hat for the Raffle Prize It was a great competition and i loved building my Rover and trying to match it against the 2019 City Space sets, but do agree it was a shame there weren't more contestants. Roll on TC17
  6. So the side box I was asking about is just a stoarage box. it's a selectable option on the UK website when you configure a vehicle So when is the Lego model available to buy ?
  7. article on the new car ... https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-land-rover-defender-2019 I think the Lego model has captured the shape well
  8. The test in the UK will be if farmers buy it (the real car not the Lego one). if they do it's a proper defender
  9. Looks great I'll share your Ideas page with some of my work colleagues
  10. New article on Autocar today with fresh leaked images of the car. Showing it in the same green as the model and also with the same stowage box on the right hand side (the one I'd been asking about). It officially gets launched tomorrow (Tues 10th) as this week is the start of Frankfurt Motor Show https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-land-rover-defender-2019
  11. Turns out I never had 8081 but thankfully I think I have all the parts, the only challenge was the old style technic bricks. Going to build the original first and then work out how I want to modify it
  12. I might join in this fun as I think I may have a bit of time before October when I’m on holiday and then away at a conference. I’ll have to build the original first (which I have) to get a good look over the model. As to if I change colours unfortunately my Porsche GT3 is built up as a Datsun Z and my Mars model is using most of my Light Grey liftarms. So that may restrict some colour choices. is there a time limit for this ?
  13. Does anyone know why when i go to the Lego online store in the UK I don't find this under speed champions but when i search for porsche in the search box i find it ? strange ?
  14. looks great, my only comment is that the driver should be sat off to 1 side. as far as I'm aware LMP class was still built around technically being able to have 2 people in the car, although sometimes the passenger seat isnt in the vehicle
  15. Hi, I’m guessing from the image you’ve got yellow springs hiding in there from your image. Have you tried the red springs, I think they’re stiffer.
  16. New spy shot from the next Bond film. Lego have done a good job on the front end. The bonnet bulge is a little high but I think they’ve done a good job of capturing the shapes https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-land-rover-defender-2019
  17. I thought we’re all in agreement the “coffin” is the box on the roof with the orange handles. What I mean is the box on the right side of the car about the rear arch, opposite side to the ladder which is above the left rear wheel arch
  18. Just seen some more of the pictures posted here, it’s a shame to have the bright red pieces under the bonnet. Surely theyd look better in grey of black, but I guess it might be an ease of assembly or the part was available in that colour for another model this year. so on the roof we have a couple of boxes, on the left at the rear we have a fold down ladder. But what is the light grey box on the right side above the rear wheel?
  19. I think it looks great. The colour is a classic Landy colour and I know it’s annoying that it’s yet another colour but I don’t know what existing colours would be very “Defender”. interested to see how it functions. Also the wheels look good and think would work on cars too
  20. Just done some reading on the creamsicle as I’d never heard of it before. It was a special limited edition in the US along with one called bumblebee. But this has thrown up an issue with your model that the colour is wrong. The white instead of cream works but the other colour isn’t orange it’s red.
  21. That looks amazing. I’ve had a few attempts at making one of these but always stopped when I tried to do accurate suspension. are you planning on offering instructions? And do you know if other colour schemes are possible
  22. Well we’ve had the Tumbler so I’m hoping for the Keaton Batmobile. Would look great as a Creator sized model
  23. Cool little model, obviously not to be confused with my Mars Mission Scarab ?
  24. 1 : 10 7 : 6 4 : 4 6 : 3 2 : 2 8 : 1 Good luck everyone, it was great to once again chose from a very diverse set of models.
