  1. All ok with me so count me in. ? When will this normally become official for sorting out flights etc?
  2. Thanks @Jim for giving me a nudge for this. I’d love to come along to my first Eurobricks event and loved it when I did Lego House a while back. I need to double check I’m free that time ( I think I am) but also need to look at flights. I think I’d need to get a transfer in Schiphol (Amsterdam) anyone know how easy that is? As direct flights from Manchester aren’t that frequent.
  3. Started to convert all my LDD into Stud.io files last week and I've also started my first Technic build from scratch using it. The only issue i'm having so far is placing items on axles. If I have an axle going through a connector and then try to place something else on the axle (eg a 1/2 bush) it's not giving me a "snap" to have it flush against the already positioned part and it's allowing the parts to intersect too. I guess I'm missing a trick here ? The workaround I'm using is to remove the axle and use pins (inc axle pins) to position the items and then reposition the axle afterwards
  4. I’ve got plenty of those from my Fairground Ride :)
  5. So I see Elon Musk has been kind to us Technic Builders and designed a pickup we can easily build in Lego form!
  6. Thanks for that @SylvainLS next time I get an opportunity to get on the Mac I’ll check all my old LDD models through Stud.io as my first task. I quite like Stud.io for brick building, and better than LDD in that respect. I think it was the handling of rotate, zoom, pan and then part selection that LDD is better. Thanks for the top about Gear meshing, very useful to know. That’ll save a lot of time
  7. I've got a Mac at home but not sure what version of iOS I'm running but I do remember a pop-up last time i used LDD informing me that it's a 32bit programme and that it won't be fully supported on 64bit OS. I took that to mean it would still work just not be "optimised" At the moment I've been using LDD for Technic creations and Stud.io for System ones as they seemed to work better for me that way round. So do I need to ditch LDD ? has anyone used Stud.io for Technic and how easy is it ? and importantly can I import and convert LDD files into Stud.io ? The reason for this last question is I make models of all my Eurobricks Technic Competition models to keep them as a record.
  8. Loving the pull back racing truck ... I can see that on my desk at work. interesting hull pieces for the catamaran, are they totally new or from a City set? got to love the mini Claas too! for an H1 lineup I say this is pretty interesting in terms of looks, play and function. Just got to hope the big sets live up to this standard
  9. Looks like a great little model but surprised at no b model unless this is an early box and not the final release
  10. that looks like a cool little RC model, obviously very low in part count but for the size I'm sure lots of kids will love it
  11. I resurrected my work on this last night using LDD. I may still come up with a modern version of this myself. it’ll take time though
  12. Quick q but what is the difference between a U and O clip 1x1 plates? I'm sorting through my orders and not sure which are which and importantly are they different in their function/use in this model?
  13. I’m definitely aiming for Star Wars (a New Hope) rather than anything earlier or later, noting the Corvette in the final trailer for Episode 9 that people think may still be the or at least a sister ship. I was aiming to put a load of fleet troopers in it along with Leia but wasn’t sure about the cockpit crew. Thanks for the pic from Rogue One, I do like that film, and the one shot in the film that gives me goosebumps every time is when the Tantive drops out of the docking bay to run from Vader. i hope to start building in a couple of weeks once I’ve finished bricklinking it and dismantled a few sets to clear the shelf space. i might try and make a local CAD model of your conference room to work out how the corridor I want would look
  14. Hi @Kit Bricksto I'm in the (very slow) process of checking off a load of Bricklink deliveries having depleted the UK of jumper plates and Large White wheels (well it at least seems like this). I've deliberately gone for used bricks so I'll have random white/yellowed tiles over the model and some bricks with marks from their previous life. I'm hoping to build it somewhere between now and Christmas, it means tidying up a shelf (taking apart a few models and hiding some boxes) to get the display space. A few q's ... How easy is the model to transport when built ? is it fragile or are there specific places to lift it from ? Has anyone attempted to turn the Conference hall into a corridor with a side bit for Leia and R2 ? Not sure if there's enough volume for this ? Also does anyone know what the Crew should be ? Would the pilots/cockpit crew be Rebel Fleet Troopers ? and then a Wedge in the same style outfit as the "commander" ? Ignore the text below here ... it won't let me delete it ! Hi @Kit Bricksto
  15. I have to say "I don't get it" ... firstly the model has its arms in a fixed position and when I look at the minifigs I have on my desk at work I pretty much exclusively have their hands down by their sides and not in front of them ... so the wooden model doesn't have the hands where i'd put them. But the biggest thing I don't get is why you'd spend £110 on this and then decorate it ! why would i stick stuff to it or paint it ? I just don't get it Not a purchase for me ... and that's from someone who bought Lego Forma and also likes wooden scupltures around the house
  16. Just seen the pics and I like the look of it, the button batmobile was always my favourite. Think like other people have said I want to see it before I decide to buy.
  17. So 40433 is a gift set if you buy the UCS? I don’t get that as a business model. Why would you sell a detailed set (whatever it ends up being) and give away what could be a high selling minifig scale set with it.
  18. It's great to see a 3rd fig in the shape of Vicky Vale but do we still have no hint of what the model is ? I know there's already a mini fig scaled '89 batmobile so is this set just going to be the parade and batwing ? or so we think it'll be a UCS scale and detail model ?
  19. great review @Jim just enough details to keep us entertained. I'm definitely going to get this, but most probably ask Father Christmas for this I think this stands up well next to models like the Unimog and the recent "UCS" Porsche and Bugatti
  20. Firstly sorry if this is discussed somewhere already but I’ve had an email this morning about a Lego Originals launch in London and I’ve go no clue as to what it is. The email says it’s £109.99 and a limited edition collectible, so perhaps not a set? Which gets stranger when the link to book a slot at the event talks about wooden. so does anyone know what this is ?
  21. Perhaps it’s the Batmobile plus a cover to represent the shield it has? I know still likely to be way off the number of pieces. it could be the batmobile and then a stand to display the bat wing vertically to show the bat logo like in the film when it flies in front of the moon. i hope this set isn’t the batwing and a float for the joker
  22. I'm not going to take part in this now. between work, holiday and stuff going on at home i just havent got the time or brain capacity to do any lego building
  23. surely one of the 1st MODs for someone is to make a 110 ?
  24. Amazing how your Technic model looks instantly recognisable and just as good as Lego’s system built Harley. i especially like your touring version of the gold wing
  25. Hi all, can someone point me in the direction of a compact front and rear suspension both with diffs and independent ideally. Thanks in advance
