So as not to interrupt the voting posts, I thought I would mention here: In the event of a tie-break situation, I will award points to the entries I liked. I prefer to run contests without any bias or potential to personally influence the outcome, but sometimes a tie-break needs to happen. Essentially, everyone is realising how good the theme was and they want the sets. We have not had a long enough time pass for the children who have the sets to get to an age where they want to sell them on. In a few years, a lot of the children who were the target market will have new things that they need money for (trips, tech and treats. Different hobbies etc) and that will prompt the sale of the LEGO. As you possibly can tell, I play the long game

I "collect" to increase my palette of parts and colours for my own creations. I have thousands of parts but they are never enough! Of course, I have fondness for some themes I enjoyed as a child, which I work to re-imagine and improve. I never had a "dark ages" LEGO has always been my constant hobby. I believe the appeal across generations is threefold: Longevity of the product: LEGO I owned as a child in the 90s fits with the LEGO I was handed down from the 70s and 80s. These all combine with sets I purchase today. While there are some colour variations, cosmetic damage or UV affected parts, everything still functions as designed. Personal Attachment: While my grandparents generation did not have and did not play with LEGO, my parents did. I am not a parent, but many of my peers are and we grew up with LEGO. They want to share that with their children. My mother bought Duplo and then System sets for me as she had enjoyed the sets her brother owned (Classic Yellow Castle!), I buy my little cousin and my friend's children LEGO to play with. Value as a toy: LEGO, even the sets with an existing story from in-house or popular media still allows for free play. Sure, some of the oldesters might complain that Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker tag-teaming on Darth Vader and Voldemort with a bit of help from Iron Man and Legolas is not a "true" imaginative game, but it seems pretty creative. Not to mention there is fine-motor skills development, shape recognition and a whole host of other valuable experience to be developed from building according to instructions and freely. So those are my thoughts.

Double dip of delightful Fabuland. I think @Pandora and @Hinckley would love this too. The simple 80s authentic build captures the charm of the theme and the design sensibilities of the era. The modern style is a lovely match to the "vintage" layout but also looks like something Tom Nook and friends would feel at home in. A beautiful pair of creations. Thank you for sharing this with the forum.

In the UK, two supermarkets and one of the main high-street toy shops stock and sell the polybags across the themes, ASDA and Tesco have the mixed boxes of polybags at a £4 or less price point. The themes are: Ninjago, Friends, City, Creator and Hidden Side. For the most part, the collectable minifigures have replaced the smallest impulse boxes, but speaking for myself; I wanted the minifigure the most when I asked for an Impulse set as a child. The part count was small to negligible in those sets, but the figure was super cool!

That looks like a mish-mash of Enlighten original sets (a lot of cool things popular in Chinese markets. I got hold of Monkey and company years ago from Enlighten sets) and some LEGO stuff.

It is unfortunate, but all this internet stuff does cost money! We forget as we merrily hop around (with adblocker on!) that places need revenue to run. It is a shame that people did not get a chance to back-up their images. I know some of my earliest MOCs online were on MOCpages (Fortunately, I have my images stored on my own backups), so they are no longer going to be online. As for EB hosting images, it is an expensive endeavour and for some of the older posts the users may no longer be active. That makes things more difficult, as people may not want the information saved and stored.

I mean, if you want to aim tall, I am happy to see a tall tree or fountain. Height limit is a hard one; 16x16 with limited to no overhang doesn't let you build a garden to a great height anyway. Then, I do not want to throw some arbitrary limit in that could pollard a nice tree design or some other more exotic plant creation. I want pure and joyful creativity. The footprint is in the interest of fairness: My collection could furnish a whole 2m by 2m table with a lush jungle. Larger if I wanted sparser landscape. Someone else might not have enough to fill a standard baseplate. My point is: Have a good time with the gardens I love what I see so far.

Ah well, what I did was try and deeplink the video. As you can see, it has made a big blank space the size of the video... In the editor for my post, it was an embedded video. It all used to work, but I guess Invision or Flickr have done something that has stopped it.
