  1. Ok, so this is once again a subject over stepping the bounds of the rules and seems to once again be swinging around to other topics covered elsewhere that are not framed with a sensitive issue. We have clarified once and now a second time: The removal related to promotional media and not outright scrapping the sets. Now of course, if there is a planned pause that means no police sets or a reactionary pause on police sets there will be people who are happy and people who will harp on about TLG capitulating to pressure and argument ad nauseam. But that is an argument for the future. Oh, and you can be critical of TLG, we just prefer a slightly more mature posting style and a constructed opinion (possibly even with shareable evidence on a point). Not just someone popping up to whine about things in every possible thread going and kick back when people are bored of hearing it. Anyway. Locking before things can spiral further.
  2. Never! A Minifig Person designed to represent a human should always be yellow. While my fleshtones collection has slowly increased as TLG expands their licences portfolio, I find the bright yellow is charming and can be as inclusive as you like. I do use both kinds of figure in my SF builds (along with aliens and robots!) but prefer the classic yellow for the more grounded environments. Everyone shouting about "representation" from whatever community they are a part of would be just as disgruntled at stereotypical appearances to represent them. That goes for anyone clamouring for a labelled figure, make a minifigure whatever you want it to be. However, I suppose I try and maintain the philosophy that people are people first and I would be 100% more interested in their music/media likes, favourite drink and opinion on LEGO than anything else upon meeting them.
  3. The whole build should have a footprint of 16x16, so two 8x16 plates it fine but they must not have a gap in the middle that makes them cover more space than a 16x16 would.
  4. It is a little hard to be specific with such small images. I see you uploaded them onto the forum directly, that upload space is only small and is available so you can put a custom avatar on your profile. If you load the photos onto an image host site (instagram, facebook, Flickr etc) then link them here, the photos can be larger and we can help ID them for you
  5. Ok. This is going over the lines that we set for the forum. Now that the *issue* of the thread: aka an end to Emergency Service themes, is solved I am going to lock the thread. Please feel free to take your sketchy arguments to another platform.
  6. Do you have a photo of the whole thing? it is a little hard to tell what the part colour really is, if it is a render and how it is interacting with other parts. I can't find a match in the varied lists or parts in magenta/purple.
  7. From the statement TLG made, it was simply a pause in advertising or promoting them? Not a cancellation of the whole lot and a demand to bin them. It is maybe pertinent to know: A charity organisation that sends toys and games to children in need and extreme situations requests no Emergency Services toys. They are concerned that those toys might trigger upsetting memories for the children due to their situations. Even where the services are a positive force in the situation (natural disasters etc).
  8. In your thread for the build, it would be fine. But the entry post has to be a photo.
  9. Consulting Lego Historian's thread: It looks like the brick came in a pack of printed town accessory bricks. Much like the Xtra sets of today.
  10. You will be getting a request for me to look Hopefully I can ID the set!
  11. As all builds will need to be posted in the central thread to enter (admittedly, I only just posted it) there is a way to trace them all without a title tag. I know some builders and some forums have their preferences so if you or any other builder would like to have a tag for the title, then [EBFS] would be fine,
  12. The Showground Welcome to the Eurobricks Flower Show Showground! Here you will find all the gardens from across the forum. Please remember the rules: One Picture and a link to the thread for your garden in the relevant theme forum. Once a garden is entered here, you are free to change things about the build. However, the Theme must remain the same. (Exceptional circumstances are at moderator discretion). If you wish to comment on a garden, please follow the link to the appropriate thread. Enjoy
  13. Looks like I will need to refresh my MOC index then. Such is the nature of the internet.
  14. Okay, the footpaths and railtrack are a custom layout. Some of the trees look like they are custom built, along with the minifig population. It would be hard to put a true price on that without an idea on the space filled with tiles etc. The train looks like a combination of a few different train sets. Then we see the Ferris wheel https://brickset.com/sets/10247-1/Ferris-Wheel, the Detective's office https://brickset.com/sets/10246-1/Detective-s-Office, https://brickset.com/sets/70906-1/The-Joker-Notorious-Lowrider, https://brickset.com/sets/10257-1/Carousel, https://brickset.com/sets/60117-1/Van-Caravan. I am sure others can spot more.
  15. The image is not linked for us to see, this link leads to mailbox You can use your Google Drive to load the photo to the internet and then link it here on the forum.
  16. A brand new Forum Wide contest has begun!Came and take a look.
  17. Here on Eurobricks we have decided to do our bit in helping people manage with the situation we all find ourselves in. During these interesting times the simple pleasures are a joy for people from day to day. Hobbies like model building, gardening and other creative persuits. Also, so many events have been cancelled or forced to adapt by moving online, including the world famous Chelsea Flower Show. So, we are proud to present a new Forum Wide contest: A chance for everyone to create something in any one of their favourite themes and to share it for us all to enjoy. Will you create a rock garden for a Jawa on Tatooine, perhaps a relaxing spot for a Pirate to rest between treasure hunts or maybe a lovely garden you would find around a corner in LEGO City? Get your creativity flowing and build a garden from your bricks to share here on Eurobricks. Of course, there are prizes to be won! Every qualifying participant will have the option to display this profile tag: A trio of special tags will be available to choose from for the three winners. 1st Place: 31105 Townhouse Toy Store, 40376 Botanical Accessories, 40375 Sports Accessories, 40312 Street Lamps and 40309 Food Accessories 2nd Place: 31093 Riverside Houseboat, 40376 Botanical Accessories, 40375 Sports Accessories, 40312 Street Lamps and 40309 Food Accessories 3rd Place: 31098 Outback Cabin, 40376 Botanical Accessories, 40375 Sports Accessories, 40312 Street Lamps and 40309 Food Accessories Winners will be decided by public vote after the contest closes. 18. This gent truly has an enviable life, such simple pleasures for him to enjoy Really well presented vigs, thanks for sharing.
  19. I am getting to think we need to figure out a tag higher than MOC Expert! Your models always astound with their beauty and accuracy. Once again, thank you for sharing your fantastic creations.
  20. I made the topic title clearer. I honestly don't engage in any TLG controlled contest of any kind. I will not sign over the rights of my creations, ever. Because of the fineprint mostly.
  21. So much New Retro Wave
  22. Right, well, can we draw a line under this now? Personally, I find it a lot better and healthier not to take "Stuff people say on the internet" to heart. Especially on a subject like my hobbies, it keeps you sane to just move swiftly on.
