    I've washed them in a colander in the sink before with some mild soap. The old style technic bricks are really hard to clean once dust gets into the little holes in the stud. Another nice advantage of the new style Technic beams. I've also heard of people putting their parts in a tube sock and knotting the open end and placing them in the washing machine with oxy clean, but I don't know if that is good for the edges of the parts. It would almost be like putting things in a rock tumbler to smooth them out.

    How big are you talking? The Unimog is a rather large set both in size and part count. I also cannot see Lego running 1/2 a dozen motors off of one battery box, so then you must add a second or 3rd one which in turn will take up more space and add more weight. The Technic line is all about being practical and functional. If it isn't practical, Lego isn't going to do it. The same thing goes for the style in which they design their models. This is another good point. It is hard to expect a 3 Kg vehicle to be engaged by the small thin plastic pieces in both the 16 tooth clutch gears and the thin strips on the driving rings. And then to have these shifted repeatedly is going to cause eventual damage. Didn't you say after rerouting the wires it still had shifting issues and you just decided to drive it without the body? Something about springs or rubberbands? Or maybe I was thinking of someone else who posted in that thread.

    And I am making a point trying to explain that Lego isn't going to release something so large that it may have failure issues. Didn't Blakbird say that he could only get Sheepo's Land Rover to drive properly without the body? This is what I am talking about with models getting too large and heavy for their own good.

    Yeah, I've seen all of that stuff. Unfortunately I said Lego Technic sets, not some MOCs that people made which I am most certain are not up to Lego's standards. Yes, there is a difference. TLC is not going to release a motorized wheel chair as a set and then spend the next year handling all of the problems that people are having because their chair doesn't work right and then have to send out God knows how much money in replacement parts.

    I think the Technic sets can only get so large and heavy before running into problems. Technic sets are designed to be played with where as UCS Star Wars sets are more like pieces of art.

    They should be showing up in December. Hopefully some more blue parts and panels will show up in the other sets.

    If they scale down the Land Rover and eliminate everything, this will defeat the entire purpose of why people supported in the first place.

    The Space Troopers was a bad idea from the start. It was well proposed and looked great, but I think most people knew that project was going nowhere because it was too similar to an existing theme.

    I am sure the Lego Group will keep the basic highlights of it, but there are many illegal connections and build methods being used that will most certainly need to be altered.

    A Lego store from Lego has already been done.

    I would imagine that the exo-suit would need some major changes from the original to make it legal. I think if the Land Rover would happen, it would get a major cut in parts and functions just to appeal to fans of Land Rover. They said that the Thinking with Portals project would be considered last review and it was denied.

    I think the scale mainly has to do with the size of the tracks or wheels that the designer chooses to use.

    If Lego made all of their Technic models to the same scale, no one would be able to afford ones like an excavator or planes. There would also be no small affordable models.

    I am not sure if Porsche would have anything to do with this considering he was reported by Lego themselves. Even if Lego had a Porsche in the works, it most certainly isn't going to be anything like Paul's. If Porsche wanted his listing pulled, then could have done it themselves. But why would anyone really have the legal right to do this? If I paint a portrait of a Porsche built out of Lego and sell it on Ebay under the description Meatman's vision of a Lego Porsche, what right would Lego or Porsche have to remove it?

    WTF? I wonder how many 1000's of Technic sets that your work and instructions have sold for Lego over the years. From the listing that you posted, it is obvious that you are not trying to pass off anything of your own as official Lego. Crowkillers -> Custom -> Lego

    I think the wheels of the newer GT500 models are 20 x 9.5 all around. I may be wrong though. Many people may go to a bigger tire for drag racing though. Come to think of it, they might be 19 in the front and a bit narrower, so you may be correct.

    Models without studded beams are a much more challenging build in my opinion. It is easy to add a plate or subtract one to get that 1/2 a stud difference that you are looking for. I think a mixture of both is good if the model's size calls for it.

    Fantastic as always! The wheels seem a little small though, but it looks great! A good looking Mustang would be very difficult to replicate and you did a great job with it. Edit: The wheel size look great in the front, but a bit too small in the rear. It could just be the photo angles. I like how you replicated the Cobra emblems. Nice!

    Does the new hot rod look something like this? Scalewise? I can't believe still no new pics. How is this even possible? Were there pictures??? Did anyone save the pictures before they were deleted?

    Wow, that is really nice! If you don't mind me asking, what stabilizes the front windshield liftarm beams? This looks like a great build.
