  1. Thanks for the pictures Paul! Looking froward to seeing more of angles of the body in the future!
  2. While this looks absolutely fantastic, I would say the chances of Lego doing something along these lines is Zero percent.
  3. Wow. I remember he said he was doing a 60's style car. This looks really well done. But where are the other pictures? The color scheme reminds me of a old 1967 Shelby GT500. I would also like to see how the hood mechanism works. I have tried to build cars with my kids with a flip forward hood that works like that, but I just ended up with a simple single pin on each side solution that wasn't very realistic looking.
  4. Something that I don't like with the Technic line's recent models are the overuse of stickers to pretty them up. When the entire studless cycle went into full effect the more the stickers were used.
  5. I have to admit, it has been nice seeing some Technic on the front page here.
  6. As long as I see new original models using new building techniques, I can't complain. Of course more new parts would be nice too. Kind of odd that we got new hubs last year in the 42000 and new steering arms in the 42021 snowmobile, but no other new model this year using them together.
  7. What if 2 really great mocs are shown within a few days of each other and then none for the next month? Could be a whole lot of hurt feelings.
  8. I find it highly unlikely that Lego would ever use a Cuusoo project as a Flagship for anything. At least in the current stage that Cuusoo is in. If this were true, then Lego's Technic team would have already had the redesign complete for some time now and I doubt that to be true because it would have needed redesigned from the ground up and flagship models are in development for much longer than a few months.
  9. I had seen this on Brickshelf and wondered when it would be making it's way here. That is really great!
  10. I think the building techniques used in the studless models are far more creative and challenging. Studded building was fairly straight forward.
  11. If you are looking to modify the pin anyways, then why not just paint the ends of the blue one or use a black sharpie marker?
  12. This is true. If you submit a model to Cuusoo, you are not allowed to sell instructions or kits for it. When you submit a project on LEGO CUUSOO, you're giving us the rights we need to commercialize your idea. This also means you may not sell anything related to your project independently. You may not sell building instructions, custom kits, or anything related to your project. We will remove projects without notice if we learn you are commercializing content submitted to LEGO CUUSOO. You may share and distribute photos and building instructions free of charge on your own website and online profiles.
  13. I am not so sure about that. This is their rule from their website and it basically says you are giving them the right to commercialize your project, not 100% own it. It does says that your project will be removed without notice if they learn that you are sell instructions or kits for it. By submitting a project, you are basically allowing Cussoo to promote your project, not giving them ownership of it. There would most definitely have to be some type of legal documents that would require being signed to give full ownership and that probably doesn't happen until your project passes the review. If someone submits a project that someone else did, would that legally give Lego the rights to it? Of course not. Sheepo's Landrover passed the review and he has been selling instructions for his model for some time now since it hit it the goal, so I don't know how strict that Cuusoo is being as I am sure that they are well aware of his instructions being sold. So the first step would be to remove the project from Cuusoo, which never happened as Paul said that he deleted them after these other things started happening.
  14. How exactly is his model creating consumer confusion and why would anyone believe that it is endorsed or marketed by Lego? He said that it didn't say Lego on it anywhere or had Lego as a tag for it. Since when do you pay license fees for your own creations?
  15. The problem is that they don't say anywhere that any part of it is not made from Lego when they give out the specs for it, so that is obviously what they want people to believe. Only when questioned about the frame and other components do they admit that metal was used because it had to be. Super Awesome Micro Project Factoids More than 500,000 LEGO pieces were used. The car engine is made from standard Lego pieces and runs on air! The engine has four orbital engines and a total of 256 pistons. Top speed is not very fast, around 20-30km (We were scared of a lego explosion so we drove it slowly) It was built in Romania and shipped to a secret location in suburban Melbourne. It’s a Hot Rod design, mainly because hot rods are cool.
  16. Lego's large models at Legoland are also built with metal frames for safety issues, not to mention they have to stand the tests of the weather. This thing just has to roll down the street. And you are missing the key point here which is why there is so much grumbling. They are promoting this as a "Car built entirely of Lego" and that just isn't the truth. It has nothing to do with being jealous, more so with being deceptive on their part and they are being called out on it. You can't come along and advertise something and then when people start asking questions you make excuses and get upset. There are actually naive people making comments around the world that these people have revolutionized the auto industry.
  17. So if I cover my car in Lego does that make it a Lego car?
  18. I have a compressor in my garage that puts out 100 psi and I find it very very hard to believe that these small rubber tubes and seals in the Lego pneumatic pistons can come close to handling this type of pressure. 100 psi is serious pressure. I feel this project was create for nothing but youtube hits with false advertisement.
  19. That is basically what I meant, the seals leaking. Do the little air hoses ever pop off or must they be glued down? I found it funny when they said they didn't want to push it to far because of an "explosion" What would this equal roughly in P.S.I. ? I would really like to see a video of this. If this is true, I am sure that they have it.
  20. How much air pressure do you figure would take to move the weight of this vehicle with a passenger before something in the engine breaking? What is the max air pressure that you can run through one of your engines before something gets damaged? I would imagine that they just store the air in a refillable container. Supposedly the creator is going to reveal more very soon. Most likely after it gets it's desired views on youtube first.
  21. I agree. Covering up a rolling metal chassis with Lego bricks isn't very impressive. I would like to see this striped down and see all of the metal being used.
  22. You're right, it is made out of metal. I was reading an article about this on this on another site before I came here and seen this topic. I also am having a hard time believing that this can go 20 MPH. Maybe downhill. This is impressive from a few points, but not so impressive from others. My guess is that just about anyone with an unlimited budget backer could build something like this.
