  1. I apologize. I was just thinking that you would no doubt sell many more for a little less money. You would probably have more people buy them who have no intentions to build the model, but rather just to see how things are built.
  2. The black 19L flex axle is probably the most sought after part in technic. As soon as one hits bricklink it is gone within seconds. Someone had 4 of them for $8 each a few days ago and I just missed them.
  3. How many supporters did you have?
  4. Out of curiosity, how much does a website like this cost to maintain throughout the year?
  5. I have been following Cuusoo since it went world wide and I remember them saying that projects should not be using parts that don't exist. It seemed that people interpreted their stance differently however. Some said a few parts were ok, some said one part was ok, but Cuusoo seemed to be fairly straight forward about it.
  6. While this is amazingly fantastic, $25 seems a little high for instructions for a 1,000 piece model considering other people charge 1/2 of that for models with twice the part count.
  7. Well when videos of Lego's manufacturing system are produced and claims are made in those videos that a single mold can cost upwards of $250,000 based on the complexity of the part, I tend to believe them.
  8. It would probably cost a good bit to get them printed up and then shipped to everyone. I like the digital download better. Still waiting on the update from Paul's site.
  9. You don't have to measure anything. I am talking about Lego themselves having a limit on how many motors is their standard limit.
  10. Yes, but I am sure TLC has a limit.
  11. If you do a Google search you'll see that Lego molds vary in cost from five figure to six figures.
  12. ^I can only assume that the Back to the Future set was produced in a much higher quantity than 10 or 20 thousand right? Or is that just the initial batch?
  13. I watched a video that said that money was saved because test molds were no longer required since the introduction of 3D printers and that molds ranged from anywhere between $10,000 to $250,000 USD. However It didn't state whether or not this cost involved any development of the new part. At this high cost, I assumed that it did.
  14. So does "Brick-based" mean no more technic?
  15. 100k whatever you want to call it because new molds range in price. 10,000 people pledging $10 would never happen. There are great Cuusoo projects that can't get 10,000 supports and that is free.
  16. I never did get to vote on this, but I think the right models won in the correct order. Congrats guys!
  17. Yeah, but they would have to raise 100K just for a new part.
  18. Out of curiosity, I wonder how many motors would Lego run off of a single battery box?
  19. They should have been doing this since it started.
  20. They're not missing out on anything. If it sells like hotcakes then it has to also be 100% reliable.
  21. Awesome. I like the way that you have it set up better than the way mocplans does. It's a good idea in theory, but not execution. Please keep this thread updated when they are ready. I've been waiting to build this model. I even bought an extra 42000 set when they were on sale at TRU just for it!
  22. Paul had brought up a good point about the gearbox in that the main problem is that people will try and start out driving it in a higher gear which will cause problems and that it would need to automatically downshift on it's own.
  23. Sometimes those pins can be a pain to pull out.
