Wall plug power function
Cwetqo replied to kokkie20's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You can use 9v train power supply and connect to motor with PF extension cable (tested and working perfectly) or buy PF rechargeable battery (fairly expensive) with charger and leave it plugged. -
I saw it on pre-screening on saturday. It's good, but it does not carry that "special message" as original LEGO Movie. And there is too much of everything, almost every villan known is there, but just briefly. Still this is something every AFOL needs to see. For those who have seen it: any guesses which vehicle (or thing) will be made into UCS? My guess would be that big flying thing from the beginning.

Technic 2017 Set Discussion
Cwetqo replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I suspect the plan is to invite RLFM (Recognized LEGO Fan media) to Billund at certain time between now and august (most likely june) and present the sets, with intwerviews from designers etc... -
Tuesday it is. Michael from Promobricks sent this: On Tuesday (January 31st), there will be a LEGO press event at Spielwarenmesse Nuremberg. The event is starting at 2:00 pm CET (Munich) with some statements of the management, after that guests are allowed to enter the showroom with the upcoming 2HY2017 sets, taking pictures and doing interviews with Simon Kent from LEGO Boost i.e. PROMOBRICKS as one of the biggest German RLFM sites got an invitation to this event as well. We are covering the whole event through our blog, Facebook, Twitter, ... and will post loads of pictures/video clips from any new set we discover. As last year, all RLUG and RLFM members are welcome to use our material from our website for their sites and forums as well. We would really appreciate it if you give credit to us in return. Thank you very much! Michael

Need reservation at Kirchenbauerhof: yes please - Apartment sharing: yes/no -> No. Please reserve one small family room (3 beds) for us - Number of persons and length of stay? 4 persons (2 adults, one child and one infant sleeping with us) staying from Wednesday night until Saturday night (4 nights - checking out Sunday) - Are you member of a registered LUG? Only those will be eligible to receive a discount of 15% on Saturday - Yes (x2)[And stickerx2] - Anything else we need to know? (help needed in flying/transport ...) Thank you, no help needed. I hope it not be a problem if we come as a famliy. We all collect and build with bricks and we promise that we will keep our youngest out of the way :) Regarding stickers: I was part of the team when we were setting this up with TLG. For people who come from countries without official D2C presence (meaning no official LEGO stores and no online S@H) it is allowed to put sticker on your LUG membership card. Of course regular 5% VIP discount will not be given in that case, but you will still get 15% from AFOL Shoppoing day offer. Each member can contact his ambassador and let him ask Jan or other LEGO representative for stickers and maybe Copmike still has some (or ask Jan to send some if RLFM are still eligable for that). Please note that there are some roles for AFOL Shopping day: you can only take one of each exclusive sets and three of each other sets and re-selling is strictly forbidden. -
Eurobricks Event 2017 - Final Dates and Location
Cwetqo replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Main point of these meetings is getting together and enjoying some quality time with people who share same interest. So, it does not matter that much what you do, but with who you do it and how you do it. But, if you want to know exactly what goes on, here it is (from Gunzburg 2013): atendees mostly sleep at same place, which is very nice "gasthouse" (guesthouse). Besides smaller meet-ups in rooms (most atendeees share rooms, since most are for 3 or 4 people), there is one large meeting room, where people each evening get together, talk about LEGO and related stuff and engage in LEGO related games and activities. After first visit of LEGOLAND a lot of building happens too. Day acitvities mostly include visiting LEGOLAND, where people usualy break into smaller groups (as it is more suitable), but there is also some planned acitvity for all. Of three full days, we spent first and third in LEGOLAND, and on middle day we went by train to Munich, where locals showed us the city and of course we also went to LEGO store, where manager showed us around and told us some interesting things. -
[REVIEW] 42065 Tracked Racer
Cwetqo replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, according to this, V2 is not produced anymore and each V1 purchased in last year or so should have same capabilities: http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/24027/difference-between-power-functions-v1-infrared-receivers I guess this might have been cause of it: http://www.technicbricks.com/2012/11/lego-power-functions-incompatibilities.html So, 42065 has updated V1 receiver. Do we know it's characteristics? -

Why do you mention V1 receiver? Does this set use V2? If yes, that would make it MUCH more interesting. -

I already bought it with intention to motorize it. Here it is in my amusement park from our last exhibition:

These elements come in what is called "play brick boxes". Those are big cardboard boxes packed with about 10 kg of random LEGO polybags coming from various sets and randomly packed leftover bricks in plastic bags. Boxes are packed by LEGO Foundation (most likely by volunteers) for use with charity work and for supporting various LUG Activities through LEGO LUG and Event Support programs. Sometimes event organizer can offer those boxes for purchase to event exhibitors as incentive (like in Skaerbaek), but further reselling is still forbidden (parts swaping is of course allowed). In any case, all of those sources get boxes with strong notion that resseling is forbidden, so please don't enourage that by buying them.

EB Event 2017 - Dates and Location
Cwetqo replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Cool! Dates work for me, so count me in! -
As already mentioned, Modular Buildings designer (and Creator Expert manager) Jamie Berard was asked that same question at Skaerbaek Fan Weekend. He said that it's very unlikely that they would do it, since they would need to significantly change the buildings due to part which are not produced anymore (as Sammael mentioned). He also said that it's different for Star Wars, becuase they are tied to ships which occur in films and it's difficult to come up with new and new versions of the same thing. He also mentioned last year's christmas set and he said that they got a lot of request for it but he also said that they were have difficulties with availability of designers and that decision was basicly between this and getting nothing. He also said that TLG realized that modulars are important for them (I guess that means that they bring enough money) and tha they will support them strongly. They will also try to bring us as much interesting elements in popular colours as possible including baseplates in new colours.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Cwetqo replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Well, LEGO indeed became "for the rich" in last few years. Many years before that, 150 euro was considered "normal" d2c price and 200 was already high price, with just occasional set (every few years) having higher price than 300 euro (Death Star etc). Now, 200 euro is nothing and a kind of "normal" price is 350euro (there were several sets at this pricepoint just this and last year. But enough about the price: I can also confirm that something will happen today. :). We were given the go-ahead but nothing about the set itself. -
Is My LEGO Indian A Special LEGO Indian?
Cwetqo replied to Actor Builder's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You need to look up complete torso, withj hands: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=973pb0396c01#T=S&C=2&O={"color":2} Still, there is no (recent) history... -
Tha looks great! I do think that Shuttle may be too big to fit.

Yeah, tree needs to be worked on and shuttle could use a platform to sit on. My try at something similar ended like this:
