  1. Does anybody know this monster? Sephirot8082 has designed here one of the best mobile cranes i know(at least the best blend of model+technic upperstructure+boom) and for sure (at least IMHO) the best outtriggers: 2 section gliding with pneumatic stands ... AFAIK there is also a really impressive tow truck made by him... seems that he is the man for really heavy equipment ;-)
  2. just built the buggy of the 8479: absolute brilliant small and cute model... very nifty and clever mechanism - driving the steering by the differential overload when propulsion is stopped (e.g. after touching a wall)... my son doesn't stop kidding
  3. hmm, why not just motorizing the gearbox - IMHO this would - be still a "manual" version of the car - would still reduce the costs dramatically So, my suggestion for the manual version would be: No motors but including the sequential gearbox driven by the servo...why i do suggest this? simply, because your seq. gearboxes are mechanical marvels and add great value to the whole car...whereas the typical standard 5+R is quite boring (and - to be honest - actually not adequate for a Sheepo car ;-)
  4. at the first glance i thought it was the same as this one: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=86470&hl=liebherr amazingly - more or less the same mobile crane MOCs more or less simultaneously... it's really hard to say which one to prefer... i would rate both of them with a full 10/10
  5. Just:Wow! Do you plan making instructions?
  6. very good selection but i would add: - the barcode truck 8479 - very cool and interesting set! - also the two universal sets 8094 and 8485 - the T-rex of the latter one is one of the best models - and unique ;-) - also very good: 8862 - a great backhoe with a very clever and aesthetic construction (very symetric gear-trains, beautiful) and one of the best B-models, a combine harvester - the 9396 Heli - not the most interesting build but great functions, great part repository and plenty of room for MODs - and very aesthetic (but: the older 8856 heli is almost even better - very interesting build and very cool flex-system powered functions - for me a must have for lovers of the old classics) P.S. But i will never understand why people are ranking the 8285 tow truck so high? what does this model offer besides a great part count and cool optics? but of course i do not need to understand everything
  7. EdmanZA, thank you very much for your very valueable work! this will be very helpful for my own build of this truck!
  8. thank you very much for this helpful hint! is the u-joint disassembling riskless? Good hint for the CV-joints - i will check if they could be applied....
  9. A question to all of you who have already build Grazi's Tow Truck or want to build them in the future. In the instructions there is the following step: My question: what is this blue rubberband connected 2 U-joint-stuff with a worm gear in the middle? What is the purpose of this "seldom" design? Thanks a lot
  10. without any doubt but with one change: replace or with and! :-)
  11. Just my 2 ct: 8865 has still the best out-of-the-box suspension of all supercars - not to stiff, not to weak... (only the 8466 can compete but not out of the box but only after applying the MODs of designer Han and the shock absorbers of the 8110 Unimog).... My overall verdict for the 8865: Ugly ;) but in all other criterias a "perfect" ** model - it represents what Lego technic should be... ** "perfect" is related to the term model and means the features and the building fun and the overall concept... of course this set has its flaws, but apart from these ******* 1st generation black pins (which give you sore fingers) all flaws are IMO aesthetical ones (track width, under-dimensioned wheels, flimsy seats)
  12. Have already all technic sets which are interesting... all 2013 are more or less boring (IMO) so nothing to buy... In the next future i will only collect some missing parts for that MOCs i'm burning to build: - Grazies Tow Truck - Sheepos latest Ford Mustang - Juergens Zorex 220 Excavator maybe 2014 will be a better and more interesting year for official sets than 2013 (at least that plane looks promising)...
  13. maybe one addition to this topic from another view: The following is one of the best blend of technic and Model Team: And do not err from the look - this beast is full from bottom to roof with technic and functions, see the webpage. http://www.brickshel...ery.cgi?f=74562 It is also at rebrickable so you can try it out ;-) BTW: There are some other outstanding blends of Technic and Model Team (mostly Tow trucks) but overall this seems to be my personal favorite... probably for its pneumatic heaven ;-)
  14. this would be very nice because i'm currently collecting the parts for this otstanding MOC... rebrickable says, that my 2 x 5571 + 2x 8880 + 1x 8455 + 1x 8868 just for this MOC are already a good start-point... ;-) A tip for other collectors of this MOC: Here in germany you can buy these mentioned sets (s.a.) in used but very good condition for about 450€ if you are patient. and if you take into account that just these 12 very rare and expensive big wheels of 5571 cost at least 200€ at bricklink and the pneumatic stuff on top about 75€ than it is a smart approach to buy these sets extra for this MOC because you get quite all of the needed expensive stuff (and a lot of parts more)... the rest of the parts should not be to expensive at bricklink...
  15. quite easy to answer: if you prefer newer studdless sets: 8258, 8110, 8043 - all OOP - or latest 42009... all of them with PF if you also like studded sets: 8880, 8868 and 8480 or 8479 if you prefer pneumatic: 8455 or 8868 if you search for the one and only supercar: 8880 or - to a lesser extend - 8448 rsp. 8466 the bold ones are my personal preferences... but all of these sets are gorgeous...
  16. never heard this but you made me curious.... i think i have to catch such a destroyer.. ;-)
  17.  couldn't agree more... just see the gearbox-module falling into the chassis-frame and you will smile some minutes... in general: the overall marriage of engine, gearbox, front- and rearaxle with the chassisframe is just fascinating - exact reproduction of modern manufacturing of cars... I can recommend every one to ckeck this MOC out... it's a building experience in the true sense of the word... sounds interesting... in another topic i have mentioned an idea of a technic transformer (robot to car and vice versa)....
  18. Jim, thank you for joining - fine for me to merge official and MOC concepts...
  19. maybe something mentioned in the following existing thead counts here too: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=83226&hl= For me the modularity of Nat Kuipers Concept Car is conceptually outstanding...
  20. Hi, anybody out there who has motorized this beauty: I'm currently brainstorming what is the best place for battery box and M-motor... i would appreciate any hint/idea.. Thanks a lot! best regards
  21. This would be really great because your model is an alternative on a par with the great main model - and this probably the best possible kudo i can give to you... ;) Thanks a lot in advance for making such instructions!
  22. 100% agree - but i strongly recommend applying the MODifications of Designer Han (http://www.designer-han.nl/lego/original%20modifications.htm) as i have described in this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84973&hl=
  23. From my wife i got in Nov 2012 the 8069 Backhoe (birthday)... this has fixed me on, so i bought until now quite all interesting sets... currently 62 (52 unique)... So you see, this little cute 8069 Backhoe has full success getting me back from my dark ages - The old sets (all until 8859, 8860) could be rescued from the attic of my parents house...and after suviving the washing machine they are looking as new as for 35 years...
