I really like the idea of a vertical city! Perhaps you could sort the colours and then build. It would make the individual houses really visible!

Looking great so far. The large size fits the architecture better. As to what to fill the store with I'd build a few different counters with products. It fills space quickly. Let them sell what you have a lot of: tools, cups, binoculars.. You know the stuff that you get in every set. A small restaurant or coffeecorner could be a good filler aswell! Looking forward to more pics!

Entry 6: 3 points Entry 3: 2 points Entry 5: 1 point There are not enough points to do justice to all the great entries!

I'm not much of a car afficionado but I had to comment on these: you should build a modular Havana for these!

Hey Rrigs, Great contemporary buildings. I like them both with a small preference for the first one. I like the different vibe they give of in contrast to the traditional modulars. As others have said, looking forward to an interior. Perhaps on could be a modern city hall?

As allways a clean and fresh modular from you. It oozes springtime! Great build.

The wagons are the highlight of this, by itself really great, build. The angled set up and the colour contrasts really bring something to the scene.

Really great build. As others have mentioned the colours and interior are lovely. A great addition to any city.

Your town reminds me of my childhood; building cities covering the floor of my entire room. Still LT with your skills and the amount of bricks used in this I'd love to see you try your hand at a modular.

This is totally awesome. The effect of the lava is spectacular and works well with the cool blue and grey. There is just so much to look at. Great build!

I wanted to make a joke and ask if it had an interior, never expected it to actually have one. This is front to back, top to bottom a work of art. Everything just clicks (no pun intended). The colours, the details even the minifigs who are all dressed for a night at the opera. If this isn't frontpaged I will eat a CMF plate.

Wonderfull build! It is just so lively. Great stuff.

Hi McGregor, On brickset.com you can find instructions of most pirateships. Why not have a look through those and see if you can pick up some techniques?

Really great build. This deservers close up pictures of all the great details! Inspire us some more!

I like the design and the colour combination! Cute shop.Perhaps the first floor could use another row of bricks to make it seem a tad taller.

Start small would be my advise. Experiment. Just build. Adapt. For example: I started with modulars of varying sizes. I build two blocks of different sized houses before building my first proper modular. They all started with an idea of what I wanted. The resulting size was a result, not a preset boundary. I find the standards of 32x32 and 16x32 somewhat limiting.

Thanks everyone for the kind replies. I haven't got any other modulars set up at the moment I'm affraid, but once I do I'll be sure to take some pictures.

Kristl, you are one of my favourite builders. Your MOC's seem simple but are really sophisticated and allways with tastefull ineriors. This build is no exception! Love it.

Nice build! As vrivejar points out: this is an excellent idea for a competition!
