Review Review - 21304 LEGO IDEAS Doctor Who
TheBrickHitHouse replied to LuxorV's topic in LEGO Licensed
Can't stand Dr Who and it's childish storytelling (and questionable cinematography...) But...this set is terrific. The 'energy' and quality of the set is very apparent and I'll certainly be getting it. Love the separate Police Box, that's an inspired design choice.- 75 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Honest question - in a thread titled '2016 rumours' you have an issue with people discussing 2016 rumours? As far as I can tell, people are even talking about 2016 rumours directly relevant to Lego sets we are/might be getting. Take it from someone that's checked - the trailers and sets that have all been revealed include huge quantities of info on the plot. There's simply no way to talk about these sets and not be deep into real spoilers territory. On another topic, are we sure the 2016 Death Star set isn't actually TFA's 'Catapult' doomsday weapon or the star killer base? As at least one of those actually looks like a Death Star? -
75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Discussion
TheBrickHitHouse replied to kelceycoe's topic in LEGO Licensed
Odd the designers didn't use the tan leg printing used in the last B Wing set - or leg printing at all (and yet arm printing?) Guess a £274 set still isn't expensive enough to address such things! -

Hmm, Hoth base seems to have been a dud rumour. It's unlikely to be released in January with the Ghostbustets HQ already allocated to that slot and wasn't the May slot going to the unneeded A Wing UCS? Maybe the rumour mill just called it wrong. -

The U.K. price is astonishly good! 50% higher would still be a steal! It's vastly bigger then the hellicarrier but at an almost identical price -

Mind if we wait for the January wave first?! There is hardly a process for the illegal release of company information! -

Ah the classic way of detecting fake rumours, ask 'do we want these sets?' If the answer is 'yes' then you have fake rumours! Never fails. Lego's market research team must be the most delightfully insane people that can hold down employment. 'This year I reckon 2 snow speeders, another homing spider droid and, why not, a turret or something. Done. Pub?' -
Money laundering? Very cynical! I think this set is incredible - amazing detail and beautiful - it will be my first modular set ...and I foresee the Joker visiting...

The Millennium Falcon colour thread (White, Grey or Blue!)
TheBrickHitHouse replied to appiah4's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Okay, the Falcon WAS clearly white...when new In the film's it's dirty and damaged and has a grey sheen as a result (as any uncleared white car would) As such the Falcon is both white AND grey Lego's grey is TOO grey. But their white is too white. Grey looks better - but there's no real need for such prominent dark grey in the model- 125 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
For £130 perhaps we should be getting something that looks good AND is correct, especially when that involves nothing more than just using the right colour bricks. I like the set - but it's a step backwards (and ironically towards the bad old days where every set featured such bizarre colours...argh, brown TIE bombers?! Why God, why?!) -

Certainly looks like - for the first time, really - the rumour mill was wrong. Looks like we'll be getting a small Hoth set in 2016 where we'll see the new Hoth trooper make his non-Advent calendar debut -

Oh dear lego quality control - another instruction error spotted, this time with the Falcon. 2x3 plate in the flap that holds the antena is shown in the wrong spot. It will be easy to spot though as if you follow the instructions the flap will be out of alignment with the others. -

People liked Kylo Ren's shuttle? I thought it was dreadful - inaccurate and the interior can only fit one figure unless you bend the figures like limbo champions! Add to that its basically a dark grey block with no attempt to hide the studs and costs £100. -
Poe's X-Wing Fighter (75102) Availability
TheBrickHitHouse replied to 955561976's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Amazing set, such a leap in design quality over the 2012 X Wing and the colours really work in person. I go over my sets with a fine tooth comb - and didn't see any issues. Cockpit closes exactly as shown in instructions and as per the box art. Guess this must be a problem with a certain production run only? -

I really was unsure about these TFA sets - but in person they are great! You just can't tell from the pictures. With them in front of you you can see all the little touches that bring the sets alive. Delighted! -
I just love toys were you can get great possibility out of them and we get that in spades with these buildable figs. Day one purchase for me, haven't built him yet as I can't find space!!

Bought all 7... ...and a few of the buildable figures. They are Huge. Far, far too big - bit disappointed actually as the designs of most were great fusing lego with has to style action figures. -

Glad I sold my old Falcon as if, hypothetically, a new Falcon was released I might have ended up with two almost identical sets. Perhaps this, hypothetical, Falcon would still have some nice tweaks - such as having the large central covering panel slide back rather than awkwardly lift up (but not stay in place). And perhaps the gun turret would also have a hatch that lifted, rather than needing to be removed. If that were so, at least we'd have an improved Falcon, if not perhaps the comprehensive redesign that we ususally get, and probably could have benefitted from. -

Edit by Hinckley: This thread is for set rumors not movie rumors. Please keep talks of the movie for the Community Forum. Thank you. The sets are nice - not epic - but nice. Think a few of them can only be appreciated in person, notice a lot of sets don't come across well in pictures but are great 'in hand'. Bit of a pic and mix with mini figs - some are rather lazy (first order crew and officers with barely any printing, same with resistance fighters). Feel like we're a bit too First Order centric with these sets and wanted some Resistance tech. That TIE is just the 2012 set in black, not the designers fault mind you. Glad I sold my old grey one, don't need duplicates! Lots of new headgear for my imperial army and I wonder how the troop ship and shuttle look inside Amazed we go from a pic on eBay to full reveal - that ain't an accident, that's damage control -

We'll have 3 sets called 'snowspeeder' on the shelves at the same time? I'm certain that's exactly what they teach at Marketing 101 As for the other sets? Has to be legit - they all sound so dull and exactly the stuff lego would do. I'm sure the sets will be fine, just so damn unoriginal. -
DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
TheBrickHitHouse replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Two D2C superhero sets? But what is with this narrow focus on Batman - let's see some other characters, I literally have dozens of virtually identical batman minifigs kicking around! Exciting news today but if some of our more enthusiastic members could limit their posts to say, less than 100 an hour...- 8,446 replies

REVIEW: 71010 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14
TheBrickHitHouse replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Some stunners there - plant man will be an excellent addition to Poison Ivy's army! I can't understand why back printing gets missed again and again in these releases, especially when back printing is standard in all other themes. Seems odd when so much work goes into the figure overall and that the designers aren't even consistent between figures in the same wave. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
No one, and I mean no one, at lego cares what we say here. Every year the sets Lego release are seemingly random - despite these forums being very clearly tilted towards certain sets (Bespin sets being the most obvious example). We wouldn't get snowspeeders and sith infiltrators every year if any consideration was given to us! I'm not criticising lego as such - almost all their choices are baffling - but ususally the weird fighter they chose to turn into a set - that appeared for only 2 seconds in an episode few saw - is high quality and worth buying and the 9th re-release is invariably an improvement over the garage full of previous versions so many of us have... -

Unless one is truly incompetent, lego is going to have a pretty hard time figuring out where one snapped pictures of boxes currently being shipped to more than a 100 different countries!
